The staff at Guesthouses was very responsive and accommodating for our need for an early check-in. The room was clean and quiet, great location in the heart of the mall. Would recommend.

No elevator made it a challenge to carry overnite things up 2 flights of narrow stairs. My wife has a bad leg so I made the trip up and down for each bag. If we stay here again, I will be better prepared.

I stayed in the Jeff for a week in Charlottesville and it was the perfect location in the downtown Mall, close to countless restaurants. The walk to the UVA campus was an easy mile. The room is tiny but cozy with good coffee and a small fridge. Very comfortable bed and great shower. The stairs (up 3 flights) were fine but those with mobility difficulties would have a hard time. Finally, the staff was attentive and thoughtful. Great stay.

Overall my stay at The Jeff was good. It is in a GREAT location and the property manager I corresponded with was wonderful. Since The Jeff is a historical landmark, it does not need to have an elevator or a separate fire exit. I didn't realize how much of a concern this would be for me until I got into my tiny 3rd floor room. When I reached out to the property manager, she accommodated a room change. Even though I was charged a fee, I was grateful for her genuine care and concern and her speedy communication back to me on what they could do to move me to a different room. The rooms are immaculate and even though you're staying downtown, the building is very quiet. The beds are super comfortable, nice linens. I would stay here again.

We stayed here after visiting several wineries in the area. The location is perfect as there are lots of restaurants, pubs, and other things to do within walking distance. The room was very clean and the bed was comfortable. We thought it was going to be loud given the lively nightlife, but it wasn't. We will definitely stay here when we do another wineries trip.

Our stay at The Jeff was lovely and everything was as described. We found the place to be charming and clean, and we were able to walk around the downtown and the UVA campus without having to move or use our car. The complimentary parking was handy and a nice touch. A great stay!

The night before we were set to check in, my farther passed and I emailed that night and went onto Virbo to cancel or see if we could postpone. I emailed 2 more times the management directly and have yet to get any responses! Very unprofessional and poor communication on their part.

This room was a perfect place to stay after dropping my son off at college. It’s a great location, the downtown mall was full of activity and fun the night I stayed. The room would be okay for a couple of you really really like each other, but best for just one. It had everything I needed and I was able to find my way from the parking garage without issue. Inside the room, I could not hear any of the activity outside, it was very quiet and I went right to sleep on the very comfortable bed. Will definitely stay again!

The name, Jeff Hotel, implies the availability of a lobby and human check in upon arrival. I arrived by train at about 11 AM assuming I could leave my bags in the Hotel lobby and explore Charlottesville until 4 PM, when check in begins. There is no lobby and human being on site, so I had to haul my bags around town until I could check into my room. Perhaps I missed something in the communications, but the lack of a lobby and on-site human could be made clearer.

We loved our stay at the Jeff! This was the only lodging I could find right in the heart of the action of downtown Charlottesville steps away from many restaurants, a movie theater, and boutiques. The room was clean, the decor was trendy, and we greatly appreciated the provided parking validations. Would highly recommend.

Glad there were no performances scheduled at the theatre during the stay because that could be loud. Wish the Downtown Mall had a few more shopping options these days.

The sheets were just incredible - I need to know the brand so I can purchase some for myself! Would have been nice to have a mini-fridge, but understand space is very limited. Will recommend to others looking for a convenient, modern, unique place to stay on the Downtown Mall.
