GPS on the phone took us right to the doorstep. there was TV & WIFI...exceeded my expectations. there are visible cottages nearby, but still felt very private. no musty smells inside the cottage or funky well water smells either. lights did not work in the hot tub, but a rather minor issue if an issue at all. not too far from columbus and about a half hour driver to the old man's cave trails. i will be back.

The house needs updating. Needs better cleaning, there were cobwebs on the ceilings, the hot tub inside was full of sand, the windows were dirty, the outside lights didn't all work. Overall a good place, and if these points don't bother you, then this is a good place for a family holiday. But for such quality the price should be lower.

The cabin was perfect for a weekend trip! Beautiful!!

I spent the weekend at the cottage with my husband, 2 teenage sons, Dad and brother for my dads birthday. The cottage sits back aways on a private drive with some other homes. We have an SUV, so had no problem with the hill. I liked that there was a hot tub but we didn’t get in. I really liked the fire pit area with the lights. We saw some deer in the woods right by us. I do recommend adding a curtain in the bunk bed room. My kids were a little creeped out. I saw there was a curtain on the shelf so I think the rod must of broke?

The property looks just like the listing pictures. Linens and towels are nice and beds are soft and comfy. We didn't use the hot tub but peeked in and it was clean. The kitchen has enough of the basics, cups, cutlery, dishes, pots. If you need something specific you should ask ahead because its just the basics, but it worked for us. We also enjoyed the fire ring. The reviews that talked about the hill made too much of it. It is steep but short and plenty of room to avoid the ruts that might give a car trouble.

Perfect for adults as well as kids. Plenty of space to spread out and everyone enjoy themselves. Hot tub was clean. Only downside was there were not TVs in the bedrooms so all the kids migrated to the living area to sleep

I don’t really have any complaints. These cabins aren’t brand new, but I thought it was updated nicely. Did get a few ants, but again, it’s a cabin in the woods. I give it 5 stars. I would stay again!

The cabin was very cozy and secluded, with a few other properties along the private road. A great place to relax and get away for an enjoyable weekend retreat!

The cottage was very nice and clean. The water pressure was quite low but other than that, everything was pretty good.

I brought with me my mother, my two sister-in-laws and my bff. We all needed to get away for the weekend and just unwind from the daily grind! The cabin was remote, had a hot tub, had enough beds that we didn’t have to share and was just fantastic!

We were not aware of the road to the cabin till the day before, my car would have gotten stuck in the deep struts that where in the steep hill going up to the cabin. This can be really hard for a small car or low body car. The cabin itself needs to be updated! The kitchen cabinet doors are falling off, the bedroom dressers were not functional, the air would not come on at night as if there was a hold on the air, this also caused a loud clicking sound all night. The bathroom door makes a very loud noise. The furniture is very old and needs updated. There was no dry wood even though there was plenty of places to put wood for renters out of the weather there wasn’t any. The lights outside around the fire pit needs replaced a lot of the lights are not working. For next renters; bring your own outdoor chairs, wood, pizza pan, paper plates, paper cups, wine glasses, and dish clothes. The renters book also needs to be updated. There was also close by shooting of someone practicing rifle shooting, the location has many other renters close by. Ending on a positive; the location is beautiful, we had deer come through, the hot tub was clean, the owner responds quickly, and we had a great time!

The Deerberry cabin was great. Drive in was rough. I don’t remember seeing anything BEFORE we booked about the steep hill. Luckily we didn’t have snow. It was a little muddy and we slid but made it ok.

Been to couple of cabins before but always had problem with water quality. The quality of water was really good and everything inside the cabin was clean and neat.

We stayed with our 3 kids - ages 4, 3 & 19 months. The cabin was great. Super clean and perfect size for our family. We didn’t have any issues while staying and loved the area outside. The kids loved playing outside and having bonfires. We enjoyed being secluded for the weekend and truly being unplugged from everything. We will definitely be back for another family getaway!

Such a lovely place to get away. Nice and quiet and perfect for a group lookin to be near some beautiful hiking trails! With the woods though, brings some unwanted crawlers and we did happen to find a few cockroaches during our stay. This didn’t really bother us that much but I feel they should set some traps before it gets worse. Other than that, it was a lovely stay and the owner and team are great!

Overall a good experience for our young family with two under two. WiFi is in the description but was not consistent for streaming services. But there was enough for wifi baby monitors and YouTube videos that kept kiddos content when necessary. It made us get outside for campfire and more hikes in Hocking Hills, Rockbridge and surrounding area. All about 20-30 minutes away... Enough time for short naps in the car. The cottage was very cozy with comfortable beds, linens and towels. Basic kitchen and appliances. The deck and secluded wooded "neighborhood" was the best part.

This cabin was clean and comfortable. The owner was quick to reply to a small issue that we had and addressed the issue right away. We would definitely stay here again!

It was mentioned in the ad about the water, the water was absolutely fine. From the description I was thinking it might be stinky, it was not at all. The house was clean and everything was great !!

We booked this cabin as a getaway for ourselves and another couple. We were very pleased with the cabin. It felt very cozy and had plenty of activities for us. (Board games, a game console, hot tub and access to streaming services.) The bunk room did have a queen bed on the bottom bunk, but this cabin would also be great for a family weekend. The master bedroom had its own doors leading out to a small porch and the hot tub. Overall a great weekend.

Great location with perfect description. Hot tub was great ammenity. Overall clean, only recommendation to clean spider webs in upper windows.

We enjoyed our stay. The location is beautiful, and the cabin well-appointed. I am giving a "good" rating due to the cleanliness of the cabin: cobwebs and dirty windows in the living room area. Oven had dried food on the bottom, so we ran the self-cleaning mode before use. A dresser in the master would be great so guests would not have to live out of luggage. We were also disappointed to learn shortly before our arrival that we could not use the fireplace as this was a key element that we used to select our cabin. We arrived in rainy weather, so it would have been a perfect night to enjoy an indoor fire. I would recommend removing the fireplace from the listing for greater transparency. We were able to enjoy the firepit and hot tub the following day and loved the setting for the fire! The lights added just enough ambience. We would stay at this cabin again and would recommend to family /friends.

We enjoyed everything about this place, and its location is a short, scenic drive from all area attractions.

The cabin was close enough to the main shopping and attractions but far enough away that you could enjoy the peace and quiet! Cabin was super clean and kitchen was fully stocked. Cabin owner super friendly and had great communication. Would highly recommend staying here!

My family and I stayed for a long holiday weekend and enjoyed this property very much. It was a nice location and we enjoyed all of the amenities. While there is WiFi, it is spotty at times, but we honestly expected to have no access during our stay. The kids enjoyed being able to watch Netflix on the smart TV, and it came in handy when we had a rainy morning. There is a small gaming console - Sega - that we enjoyed using - adults and kids alike. There were plenty of board games to keep us occupied while the rain cleared. The space was clean and well kept. We were able to enjoy cooking dinner on the grill located on the deck. The hot tub was awesome and the outdoor fire area was relaxing! Our whole family enjoyed our stay!

Definitely would love to come back

we spent a weekend with friends and we were pleased with the property. its at the end of a dead end rd and gives u all the privacy you need. we enjoyed the firepit spent most our time around the fire. i would definately stay here again

It was a perfect location for everything we wanted to do on the trip. Loved the property, and the home was really cozy. Only issues we had were 1.) A very large branch fell out of a tree feet away from myself and my 4 year old. I did see a few dead trees and other trees that could use some maintenance to avoid someone getting hurt. 2.) We think we left a rather expensive hoodie (and a favorite one) in one of the closets and texted the owner to try to make shipping arrangements. We never recieved a text back.

Nice location. The hot tub was very nice. Only critique I would say is the house/windowsills could use some dusting/wipe down. We enjoyed ourselves and would recommend it to a friend.

A lot wetness and moisture…

The house was very charming and exceeded our expectations! We rented for a girls weekend getaway. Everything was wonderful! The response from the owner was beyond exceptional! The only reason I gave it a 4.5 rating was because the cleaning crew could’ve done a little better job. There were cob webs in almost all of the windows, base boards in the bathroom and the ceiling. The floor had a lot of hair and a huge clump of hair behind the bedroom door. Other than the few little things everything was perfect and we had a GREAT weekend!! Thank you again ❤️

The cabin exceeded all expectations! Perfect for a secluded getaway, but also close to the Hocking Hills State Park attractions. There are plenty of hiking opportunities on the property itself. The hosts were responsive and super nice.The fire pit at night was awesome with the hanging lights. We recommend stocking up on groceries before heading to the cabin, as the closest full grocery stores are approximately 20 miles away. We will definitely be staying again.
