The Spa facilities were good, very relaxing.

Found staff quite rude, booked a surprise stay for my partners 50th birthday, liaised over emails several times with staff before our visit, mentioning the special occasion, Paid £190 for a cosy room, which when we got there was such a small room, was unbelievable, you could hardly walk around the bed. also the room had blond hairs everywhere, so i requested to move, was told could move for a supplement £15 extra, and was shown 3 different rooms. we moved and this room was better at the extra cost, but still not worth now £205 a night. The staff were aware of my partners big birthday, (50th) and we had 4 small truffle chocolates with a note saying happy 21st, birthday on it... which i know is tongue in cheek, but was a bit rude. When we checked in, there was no happy birthday, only more charges, Car parking £15, Breakfast £15 each, so now our evening is up to £250, we said we had a reservation in the restaurant booked for dinner at 8pm, which was on my email, but not recorded by the hotel, however, they booked us in as had plenty of availability, so we then went to the spa, which was great, so much so that we stayed a little longer to relax, and changed our restaurant booking to 8.45pm, we were a little late and the called us at 8.50pm, as we were just walking out the door. When we got into the restaurant the female staff was very polite, and showed us to our table, then 5 mins in she took our drinks order, and a male member of staff asked us if we were ready to order, we asked for a few more minutes, and got a reply of "you have 3 mins" not what i expected from staff that have already had £250 of my money, plus £2 cocktails each in the spa at £12, so that was another £48 and a further £100 now in the restaurant. not what i expected..... but the biggest disappointment for me was that although staff were aware of this big birthday not one actually made any effort to say Happy birthday...... Wouldn't recommend this place to anyone.

Spa facilities are excellent. Quality of the breakfast and staff service was also excellent. Location is great.

Room including bathroom very small and quite basic for this type of hotel and the cost. No full length wardrobe to hang a dress and the bathroom door only just cleared the end of the bed. Basic quadrant shower. Also when we arrived the toilet seat was broken which meant looking for and finally changing to another room. Surely they would have seen that the seat was broken so why put us in there?

We love everything about this place!

The only thing I can pick at is the stairs to the top floor, we’ve been at the top twice now but it still wouldn’t stop us returning!

The hotel is so beautiful and located in a lovely part of torquay with easy access to restaurants and the marina. The spa is immaculate and facilities were top notch. When we arrived we were greeted by a duty manager named Leo and it was honestly the best welcome after a long drive. I arranged a bottle of fizz for our room to celebrate a birthday and Leo had it all arranged nicely in the room just before we arrived. Big kudos to him for his impeccable customer service.

The first room we stayed in had a leaky ceiling which awoke us in the early morning and was less than ideal however the staff very kindly upgraded us to a much bigger room. Both rooms we stayed in were non refurbished rooms and although they were pleasant they were a bit outdated and there was some mould in the bathrooms. Finally, the spa facilities are available until check out which is outlined however it would be nice to let the guests stay in the spa a bit longer if the room is vacated.
