Wonderful old Dutch town house apartment over two floors in a perfect location just off the market squares. Really quirky with ancient beams (which do "pop" in the night sometimes!) and open gallery above the lounge which houses the dining area. Well-equipped kitchen, bath and shower. Lovely welcome from the host, who has thought of everything one could need.

Nothing to do with the apartment or the host but one must expect to be awakened by Groningen's many bells sounding from seven am. Also, fine for us but less able guests need to be aware of the steep stairs leading up to - and within - the apartment. It's a Dutch thing!

This is an classical Dutch apartment with elegant building features. It is situated on the most busy street in town, but the bedroom was very quiet, since it was in the back of the building and overlooked the inner yard and not the street. We rented the smaller apartment, called "studio". The bedroom was very large, with a comfortable double bed and good pillows etc. Lots of wardrobes for clothes. Everything was very clean. The bathroom was next door to the bedroom. It included a washer and dryer. We also had access to the kitchen and a dining room. Technically, the kitchen was shared with the owner, but he had removed all his private stuff and we didn't see or hear him at all during our 4 nights stay so it was like having our own kitchen. The kitchen was well equipped and very clean. In the street, there is a food store just across the street, and plenty of restaurants and cafés and a bakery. It was very easy to communicate with the owner, he responded almost immediately. All in all we are very happy with our stay and would very much like to stay here at our next visit to Groningen.

The table in the room was too small to fit two laptops and some things, it would have been better with a bigger table, since there is enough room for it. We only had one key to the apartment, which required some planning, but we didn't ask for a second key, so that is our fault.

Great location the apartment is beautifully decorated and comfortable. All the appliances are new and the kitchen had everything. The bedrooms are at the rear so no noise from the street it even has a terrace. I would definitely stay again.

The shower water collects and spreads on the bathroom floor but it dries up in a few hours so not a big issue.

Location, space and facilities. V quiet despite being right in centre. Plenty of clean towels, washing machine and dryer and a small sunny terrace

It didn't affect us but some guests might find steep stairs a challenge
