Be prepared to see you hosts frequently. They will arrive promptly to request additional money to be paid for pet fees that were not specified in the description. When we arrived we were told by the host that the fee was x amount for the first pet and x amount for the second pet. When we told them we would not have booked had we known the pet fees, they said they would contact VRBO to settle the issue. After that the pet fee requested was a different amount. (Inconsistent) It is not clear from the listing that there is a pet fee at all. These were the worst hosts we have ever encountered. One loitered around the property talking on his phone and “working” In addition they sprayed poison on the weeds at the bottom of the steps as we tried to leave. I didn’t want my pets stepping in it. We were assured that it would dry soon. Hosts returned multiple times to ask for additional pet fees that were not disclosed in the description of the listing. We felt uncomfortable and harassed on our vacation. We noticed that there were no batteries in the smoke alarms and when we told the host he said we’d have to call the other host. No hair dryer was provided (which was listed as an amenity) However when we notified the host they did provide batteries for the smoke alarms and a hair dryer. We did notice cockroaches and fleas in the cottage. It was not a pleasant experience due to the hosts constantly asking for additional money and being there multiple times each day. The bottom line is that we weren’t aware of a pet fee until we checked in. The host showed up immediately to collect the fee in cash so they wouldn’t have to pay tax on it. It should have been disclosed up front and we would have decided to stay elsewhere. The cottage itself was okay. The parking was very tight.

The cottage has an ideal, convenient location: quiet, highly walkable to town, picturesque neighborhood; beautiful, historical homes; short walk to water, restaurants, shops, and sites. The property's management was friendly and very accessible for any questions. The cottage is quaint and had everything we needed; the screened in porch was wonderful in the morning and evening.
