I liked the location and the staff were very obliging. The unit was clean and comfortable but the whole property needed an uplift. The fountain in the front was surrounded by a weedy garden and it is supposed to be the frontispiece of the property. The unit needed a refit to make it more up to date.

There were ants eggs in shower, cockroaches, and snail in room.
Wallpaper peeling, shower had poor pressure.

Where do i start! Leaking toilet cistern held together with brown packing tape, towels threadbare and even holes in them, dirty stained dining chairs, net curtains on ranch slider door about 24 inches too long and a real tripping hazzard, iron cord damaged with bare wires showing, electric cooker cracked, bedroom side tables in poor condition.

Place is a little run down and needs a lot of renovation. However unit was clean and had all the utensils you need. It is situated on a main road so if you have a unit at the front, street noise at night can be a problem. Manager was friendly and check in quick.

Very nice. Hosts were super duper friendly and very convenient for the concert. Transport for concert was organised by a private company, can highly recommend.

It was a cheap stay so even though the condition of the place was a bit run down I was clean and had everything we needed. The service came without a smile. That was disappointing.

It was a great set-up and great location, staff was good, not friendly but not unfriendly either. Only problem we had was we all came back with itchy bites, either from the carpets or the beds. Otherwise it was a good stay. Thanks

I have stayed here before so it makes life easier to use somewhere you have been before. They are very easy to find and handily situated to McLean Park if you are heading to Napier for the cricket. Sky TV and a swimming pool complete the package. AC also appreciated.

When I arrived the kitchen floor was flooded, had to mop up with towel.

They had a swimming pool but hours were restricted from 0900-1700Hrs (5pm), and it was a warm day, but it is considered winter, so closed early.

For the price the motel was awesome. Very clean and the guy at the front desk was nice and had the heatpump going for us on arrival.

The room is like many in NZ. We had a room with 5 beds. We only needed the Queen and 1 single. But it was fine. Every day the manager came by with clean towels and anything else we may need. He was extremely polite. The kitchen was great. We used the oven, the toaster, the fridge and the microwave. Having dishes and serving utensils was great! The TV was awesome. Always something to watch. Even though it was cold, the outdoor pool was open. We chose not to swim (freezing). But we did do laundry and were able to hang the clothes out to dry on the line. There were pegs and everything! Would go back again!!!!!

Check in was smooth and the motel was able to find a baby cot for our youngest. Lindt Easter Eggs were there on arrival and replenished each day (a nice surprise for the kids). Room was dated but met our needs. Daily cleaning was good but the occasional cockroach sighting was a little disappointing.

Good clean large room, a bit noisy from road traffic in daytime as on main road but ok at night. A ten minute drive to the centre but local shops a three minute walk away. You can order breakfast to be delivered to your room if you want. Freindly and helpful owners

Motel was very clean but getting old. Painters were coming in which was great. Friendly staff. Spa pool hours are limiting. Swimming pool looked dirty but we were there off season. Beds were comfortable and had electric blankets! Parking right outside the door was great. Had all the essentials.

Motel units need to be checked that everything that should be there is there and working. Had to ask for dishwashing liquid, can opener didn't work, no chopping board or salad bowl. Also need microwave dishes for cooking. Carpets need a good clean as 11 month old got extremely dirty crawling around .
Door lock incredibly difficult to lock. Owner was aware and said he needed to get a locksmith. Great motel but just needs a little TLC

Budget accommodation but is well equipped and has everything needed. Decor a little tired but it's clean and adequate and its very quiet. Staff are very friendly and go above and beyond. I'd stay here again.

Very dated but clean motel. Kitchen area not great but lounge and bedroom spacious. Location ok but long walk to town centre. Buses only run in day time so have to use car in evening.

Amazing that such places manage to stay afloat in an affluent, developed country. We walked in and walked straight back out. This motel appears to have had absolutely no investment (apart from new TVs) since the 1960s. eg The pool was broken; airconditioning in over 30 degree heat consisted of a fan.
Unfortunately payment was required on arrival and the staff refused to give a refund when we pointed out that we were not happy to stay. When I suggested that this was unlikely to improve their review we were told that this was common! Clearly we are not the only customers who have been unimpressed with the facilities.
The worst motel I have encountered in the developed world and not as good as many I have stayed at in the developing world!

Liked the retro unit. Separate bedroom with flat TV on wall, lounge with full sky TV (flat 32 inch), separate kitchen, shower, toilet. Good place for families pool, playground, grassed area out back. Included WiFi, car parking roomy. Even though the motel is currently a bit dated (they are only new owners & claim to make improvements in the near future), we found the host very accommodating & would happily stay here again.
