Good for biz trip.

Decent place. Generally nice and updated. How does the front desk NOT have change at 8 am on a weekday morning so I could leave a cash tip for housecleaning? Really...no cash reserves for the few of us who are dinosaurs and pay tips in cash? Seriously...this is not the way to run a mid-range full service hotel....."We have to wait for the accounting team to arrive and open the safe" ....this is NOT service.

The service was excellent on this property and it was extremely clean. I liked how easy it was to find a parking spot near the entrance even though it was a holiday weekend! Service and hospitality was excellent, felt extremely welcomed and catered to in my short stay. The restaurant was really nice and the room was really comfy.

The room was updated nicely. Shuttle service was good. WIFI is supposedly an extra expense but there seems to be a free option. Breakfast is $22 and not many other restaurants within easy walking distance.

Checked in on a Saturday and stayed on the fifth floor were me and my family and the smells were horrible like roach spray the entire hall way and the smell was unbearable. There were about 4 luggage trolleys on the floor near my room and no one came to remove them from the hall way. Staff were quick and friendly to check us in but overall not sure if I would stay here again.

The building and the service in the restaurant was great. However it has a strange lobby arrangement with the front door being hare to find. Also they add a $100 per day refundable “deposit” to the charges. This is clearly a money grab by Sonesta considering that thy put the room charges through on my credit card and had no real reason to add this deposit. It ruined the whole stay since I felt I had made a very poor choice in accommodations and could not trust them. I will not be using their hotels in the future.

My husband and I had a short 5-day getaway trip for relaxation & visit with my husband’s family. We arrived early, Daniel let us check in early (due to my excruciating headache from an extremely cold flight). The hotel has a very pleasant smell upon entry & very nice music at the entrance. The staff is courteous. During our stay, we were out all day & did not come back to the hotel until midnight almost every night, so we didn’t really get to use any of the hotel facilities. Overall, it’s a very clean, quiet, hotel surrounded by office buildings. Great location with a 7-minute drive to SNA John Wayne airport, 18-minute drive to Newport Beach - Corona Del Mar & Balboa Island, 15-min drive to Fashions Mall & South Coast Mall, and it’s very close to UCI. We will stay at Sonesta again the next time we are in Irvine. Please be advised there’s a $39/day parking fee & $20/day facilities fee (which we were told includes a $10 daily voucher for bkfst/drinks), but, we didn’t use it — unknowingly.

Clean, pool area and courtyard were nice. A bit loud being beside the freeway but overall a nice hotel.

Hidden charges! Resort like hotel supposedly. Parking $40? $10 voucher to use at restaurant expired next day? Yea not coming back

Clean, nice property

Stayed for 1 night to be close to the airport for a morning flight. Check in was easy, staff friendly and room was clean. Had trouble with the air conditioner not keeping a stable temperature which kept me up off/on. Other than that it was good. I didn’t spend any time around the hotel due to checking in late and out early in the am

I never post reviews-good and bad. Like ever. I read them but never write them bc I’m lazy like that. Unless it’s mind blowingly the best or unforgettably the worst. Service is horrible. Sad part? Nothing has changed! Got the time to read&respond to reviews but do nothing to improve? I guess. Front desk, RUDE AF. they don’t explain or tell you anything. I booked another night like the dumb idiot that i am bc they don’t offer nor help move to other room. $49 a night for valet but where’s the valet guy? Can’t find them. This isn’t downtown Los Angeles. Theres parking Everywhere. Pretty cute bar /restaurant but closes at 11pm on a Sat night or closes whenever they want but gives you a credit to use. Oh. Room service button on the telephone that is in your hotel room.pressed&called. “Your call cannot be completed . So went to the lobby to check out the market bc there was a sign stating more snacks/drinks. It was disappointing Booked a night for $206 tax included , $100 deposit $306 but charges me $495?This hotel does everything any business should avoid doing. This is Irvine. Tons of families come here for BUSINESS/KIDS AT UCI. Families that visit quite often. WE LIVE IN AN ERA WHERE CUSTOMER EXPERIENCE IS TOP PRIORITY. Word of mouth, reviews/ratings, CUSTOMERLOYALTY! SONESTA IS DIRE OF A NEW MANAGER

Overall a good experience. And a decent place to stay. I would consider coming again. It is close to the Spectrum Center which is a hub for everything your heart could desire.

The property is fine and clean but not immaculate. We will stay somewhere else next time due to the high cost of parking and tenant fees. We’ve never been charged for either and the difference eliminates any savings from nicer hotels.

Alright, the bar and lobby was nice but the pool was outdated and same with the room and building

The staff, rooms, restaurant and gym were all phenomenal. The only downside was the air conditioner in my room didjnt work so sleeping was miserable. It only blew out room temperature air. Otherwise Id stay here again.

The location is a bit confusing. GPS made us turn to the parking structure on Mercantile when you should turn on Gillette Road. The hotel is nice, staff very pleasant and helpful. The room is clean except that there is an area on the wall that I think they are planning to cover it but it wasn't fully covered/glued properly. Wi-fi connection is poor. The door doesn't automatically close so you really have to double check & make sure door is closed when you leave or come in. We were talking for a couple of hours inside the room and wondered why conversations on the hallway was too loud to hear, only to find outit's because our door was halfway open. The rest of our stay was nice, comfortable, and convenient.
