Used the hotel as our base for skiing at Holmenkollen / Skimore. Great location when the ski bus is operating, but only started driving after 10.00 in the morning. The hotel is 40 years old and it shows in certain areas as our bathroom was decent, but not renovated. Great views - Great beds and great new pool and sauna area, though you have to pay 200 NOK for adults and 100 NOK for children. The food options were limited and the menu had no more than 5 options for dinner. Breakfasts buffet had all the classics and all prepared like any other hotel at the same standard. It works, but will not be a meal to remember.

Good view and nice gym facilities. Excellent breakfast. Room was dirty. Lot of dust, broken water glass, handprints on the wall and dirty towels.

What a special place! I had an incredible stay. The staff (especially Mohammad in the reception) was SO helpful. There are beautiful trails, scenery, and the food was fantastic! I highly recommend staying here.

The quiet location was wonderful and the view from the terrace very nice as well. Unfortunately, I got very disappointed on the last day of my stay upon check-out time. As I had to check-out early, I asked the front desk 2 days before checking out, if it would be possible to get a box to pack my breakfast out, as I will not have the time to eat before leaving. The front desk personnel said they can prepare a breakfast box for me; which was great. On the day of check-out, the breakfast box was not ready; the front desk goes to check with the kitchen, and he comes back with a couple of croissant and a ham & cheese sandwich on a porcelaine plate; so I tell him I don't have the time to eat it now, that was why I asked for a box; then, with his bare hands that were just on the computer keyboard a couple of minutes ago, and he grabs the food, puts them in a plastic bag and hands it to me. I say "please look into why this happened", as I stopped by the front desk and called a couple of times to make sure this ware ready in time, and he responds, "well, what I picked up for you is nearly what you would have gotten in your breakfast box, so..."; I think he wanted to say "what is the problem? you should be satisfied?"

The only negative was that when there was a big group at hotel, full breakfast buffet was served, whereas on quiet days, a smaller version of buffet was served. There were no vegetarian options either. Also, the swimming pool was shut (for maintenance, I believe). There is a gym and hot tub which I hope to use next time. I would revisit when I may dare to ask staff about vegetarian options.

Had a pretty good stay. Rooms were alright, good beds and good size room. Bathroom could use a refurbish but it was ok. Breakfast was good.

Location is beautiful and lobby area looks nice. However rooms are rather old and not really maintained. Covers on the bed are dirty. Service was disappointing given the fact that the hotel was almost empty. Swimming pool - they claim that the water is 28 degrees. Hard for me to judge it but the water were freezing ( I doubt if it was actually 28).Playroom- really messy and full of old and broken toys.To summarize - this place has huge potential but very little soul. I doubt if we will visit this hotel again as a family. P.S if you cares about your coffee, do not touch their coffee machines. It is really bad coffee.

It was such a nice weekend trip for the whole family. The food was great, the breakfast was also very good. The room was a bit small but worked fine for us anyhow. The pool was very clean but the problem was that the water was really cold specially for small kids. :-( The sauna in the men section needed renovation (according to my husband)! In general it was a very good hotel and a good location for those who like walking around or skiing plus the view over Oslo was wonderful. Have they had a warmer pool, it would have been the top hotel. It is still highly recommend but be aware of the cold water in the pool if you have small kids.

Nice stay in right next to Holmenkollen ski jumb Olympic stadion. Sauna and pool was perfect after long driving day with motor bikes.

Nice hotel in great surroundings in nature. Would not recommend hotel to visitors that expects aircondition in hot times.

Always nice to stay up on Holmenkollen. Hotel as nice as ever. Good for those with their own transport. Strangely, one of my favourite things is the small tree with lichen all over it; in the courtyard.

Lovely views over Oslo in clead skies location remote but i liked that train to city just 10 mins walk get into city in 35 mins hotel room lovely but very much built for conferencing bar in reception bit odd as not busy other bars closed so only place other than restarant to sit nit bad overall though

Room ameneties very poor for a 4 star hotel. Staff were not the most enthusisatic to help.The false alarm for the fire alarm was confusing and extremely obtrusive. There was no instructions on how to contact the reception anywhere in the room. Overall a very unpleasant stay.

The hotel is in a great location providing stunning views of the city of Oslo and it’s fjords. The hotels staff is extremely helpful and accommodating. Breakfast is very good and apparently the pool is amazing.
