Absolutely stunning hotel, really special attention to detail. It feels like a luxury stay! The staff were so friendly, attentive and helpful. Lovely location and plenty to do on site too. Would love to go back soon!

I have stayed in this hotel numerous times and I have always absolutely loved it here but last night there was a major power cut, I wouldn’t have minded but the staffs attitude was shocking telling us all it is not their problem or their issue and basically just to get on with it, our room was absolutely pitch black we couldn’t see a thing not to mention the fact we couldn’t use the spa which is so upsetting as it was my partners birthday and this is the whole reason why I booked this hotel. I understand things can happen but to be told just to grab a candle and either sit in the bar or go to our room was shocking. It was very dangerous on the stairs as we could not see a thing. What made this worse was when we awoke in the morning the power was still off, as for breakfast this was obviously off too.
Just a shocking overall experience as the staff did not once try and make things any better for us all, alls I kept being told was this is not our problem! When you have paid a decent amount of money for a spa stay it is genuinely upsetting & not even to be offered a thing is disgusting! This hotel is suppose to be a 5 star so standards are obviously highly (definitely shouldn’t have staff telling me to just grab a candle and get on with it!)
This birthday trip was absolutely ruined and I am so upset over the overall experience especially when you have saved up for this hotel.

A beautiful hotel in beautiful area of the world. Just a short walk into the centre of Bowness and all the bars, cafes, shops and restaurants. It’s a perfect location and venue for a few days away.
However, the best thing about the whole experience were the staff at the hotel. Everyone from the lovely guy at the car park entrance to the reception staff and those working in the restaurant were so friendly, helpful and made a lovely hotel feel warm and welcoming.

This is our second visit this year, love the hotel & friendly staff. Great bar area & service (especially Brian)
Food at Mizumi excellent again (just need the light to be slightly brighter on the booth seats)
Lovely time in the spa again, only small but luckily not many people in at the time (though we were surprised children were allowed in-would be better to be more peaceful)

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Lakes Hotel. Facilities were excellent including spa. Food was of high quality. Staff were very helpful. All areas were clean and well furnished. 10 min walk into Bowness.

The hotel is nice and clean, staff are very friendly, helpful and polite. The spa is its gem that is open till late and you can have a drink in there.
What lets it down is its poor food, £12 per day parking and the decor in the hotel is just too tacky for me. Glitter wallpaper, mirrored vases, Buddha heads and fluffy chairs.
I’m not happy about £72 charge for car parking.

Spa is fantastic and the restaurant on site was really nice. We had a hot tub room with a balcony. Clean and tidy. Nice cocktails/drinks and staff are really friendly.
Only gripe is paying £10 for parking somewhere that has an open air on site car park and the beds are horrendous.

Welcome on arrival at the gate and reception was really lovely. Excellent service being shown round really gave a fabulous first impression. Breakfast was lovely. The service in the bar was very slow, not very attentive. Bar and pub menu the same would have been nice to have a few more food options. Very disappointing to have to pay for parking, this was unclear at booking. Reception explained if we had booked direct parking included. I never been charged car parking at a hotel I’m staying at regardless of how I booked. This is poor.

We had a wonderful stay in a hut tub room. Very private and relaxing. Walking distance from all amenities, bars, shops and boat trips. We had our evening meal at Mizumi restaurant which was delicious. I would highly recommend both the hotel and restaurant. Excellent value for money.

Had a lovely stay in Windermere, but would next time choose a different hotel. The downstairs bar, terrace and cocktail bar were top quality, however the bowness suite was in need of some refurbishment. There was no sound proof and you could hear everything next door, including people coughing and playing loud music till late at night. The bedroom area had the creakiest floor boards all over and next door’s room was the same. You could hear room service being delivered next door later at night and it sounded like it was in our own room. On arrival we noticed our toilet seat was hanging off, we reported this and it was fixed straight away with a new one. Maybe more focus should now be to look at the quality and details of the rooms rather than the facilities downstairs.

We stayed as a belated birthday gift for my boyfriend. After camping for 2 nights prior a night of luxury was just what we needed. All staff were lovely and welcoming. Check in was simple and nice glass of fizz to go with it. We had drinks at the pub and used the spa - had couples massage and back into the spa for a chill before we headed up to our room. Spa was immaculate and lovely and chill. The couples massage was lovely. Our room was very clean and a little ‘happy birthday’ card had been left which was a lovely touch. We had a meal in the Mizumi restaurant on the evening and the food was beautiful. Again a nice little touch bringing out a dessert with ‘happy birthday’ on it which was very thoughtful. The view from our room was lovely and the hottub was a nice addition. Special shoutout to Jack who was working in the pub at the hotel, stopped to have a bit of crack with us which was canny. Breakfast the next morning was a huge buffet of hot and cold selection, anything you could think you would want they had it. Would definitely recommend a stay here it was amazing and would definitely stay again for longer than just one night.

Lovely stay, staff were extremely helpful. Had a hot tub with view of the lake. Was brilliant! Only a slight negative, thought £12 per night parking was a little steep given the price you pay for the stay but would happily go back.

Lovely feel to the hotel as soon as we drove into the parking lot. Looked really nice from the outside. It was even better walking into the hotel after being met by the concierge. The staff were very welcoming. The hotel looked stunning and the view we had was great. The only issue we had wea the bed was not comfortable but other than that no issues

Booked to stay in a hot tub room in Feb for our wedding anniversary in Aug - had a not so lovely view of the bottle bins, laundry trolleys and delivery wagons from our balcony that cost quite a lot of money. That aside room very nice but bed very firm and uncomfortable, shower not great either. Had decided to eat in hotel bar so no need to book when we went only table free was unstable and when we mentioned this we were asked what we expected them to do about it- awful customer service. In the spa the bartender gave a gin and tonic in small wine glass full to the brim I had to ask him to put in lather glass so that I could carry without spilling, spa was full so eventually got seats with another couple and bar tender moved my bag to a different chair when I was in the pool - not sure why? Breakfast was beautiful and the hotel decor itself is very nice but the experience that was meant to be for a special occasion was marred by substandard customer service. I won’t stay again only due to the experience I had you cannot deny it is a beautiful environment to stay in visually

Nice hotel in a good position. The only let down was the rather old bathroom. The shower was terrible. Some money is needed to be spent to upgrade the plumbing.
