Not a 5* hotel. The rooms are nice and well cleaned. The Pool View rooms see you staring at dilipidated Hotels that are very close. Breakfast was a disappointment- they say Egg station, eggs cooked to order- instead a pot of scrambled eggs. They fail to utilse the roof bar- only open twice a week. E20 deposit for towels is not 5* behaviour.

Very nice hotel. Everybody was very friendly. The rooms were stunning. The rooftop pool/bar are a great extra.

Fantastic hotel. Rooms were spacious, comfy, excellent black out blinds. The pool bar was really cool and the breakfast and dinner were amazing. Great value for money!

Omg this hotel far exceeded my expectation. I just left today. Arrived for a 4 day stay and extended once arrival for an extra 3 days. Only down fall beds are a little hard. But other than that. Great great great staff, great atmosphere, great drinks by pool, roof top pool amazing, and great location. Will return again one day.

This is a modern hotel towards the end of town and so not near the shops and restaurants of Calella's centre. The plus: Big pool and a jacuzzi, big comfy bed, large room (we had chosen the contemporary ones rather than the mediterranean ones) and balcony, good mojitos. The minus: corridors not very clean, Hotels.com mentions 3 pools but only 1 is free, you have to pay to get to the 2 others, no pool towels provided, all this makes it quite pricey in the end. Finaly, no forthcoming info given on the spa or the beach club ( we realised they had a beach area 3 days into our stay).

No 5 star service. No cofee in the room. Poor beds.

The food was splendid, the staff really friendly and we enjoyed our overall stay at the hotel!

The staff were so wonderful. The hotel is amazing designs and super clean. The location is unbeatable for walking. Eating. Live music. Finding this hotel was magic.

A very pleasant summer resort hotel with an excellent breakfast and clean and comfortable rooms.

Newly renovated, chic design, spacious room with a balcony facing the sea. However, I can still smell the paint in my room, the usual bad smell that you will have in a newly renovated house. I had to open the balcony wide and my room door to let the wind blow and take the smell away. This was the only minus. Breakfast buffet was superb. Lots of variety of everything. I couldnt imagine there was also Cava and dessert served during breakfast !!

We stayed in a pool view Mediterranean Room this room 511 main view was of the roof. Lovely room comfortable bed very good shower. Full board could not fault all 3 meals did seem slightly better hot food selection at lunch rather than dinner Restaurant staff all lovely especially the two ladies greeting guests The gym seemed adequate for a hotel The Spa would have been nicer if there were maybe a staff member and towels or gowns in the area also no lockers for your belongings. Pool was small but ok the steam room was very good the sauna we did not try also 2 types of shower one didn’t seem to be working. The outdoor pool area was lovely pool was cold but it was late September nice to have the hot tub. All said a lovely clean Comfortable hotel good food and nice outdoor area

I stayed with my 10 year old daughter for 3 nights, it was perfect. Our room was lovely, recently refurbished and very calming, it was also very clean. We had a lovely balcony and pool view, we could also glimpse the sea from the balcony.Breakfast was a feast to behold, you name it and it was probably on offer!The outdoor pool area was lovely, an oasis and the staff at the pool bar were very friendly. We ate tapas there one evening and it was really good.

Upon check in, front desk manager said that I have a problem! ( May be lost in translation, as Spanish) . No rooms available. No electricity or water in my room. What room? I havent even checked in. Given no option but to go to sister hotel, Volga, which was supposedly an upgrade to 4 star from 3 star. I feel that customers booked with 3rd party vendors like Expedia, were being ewalked to other hotel on regular basis, so suggest Expedia review relationship with this property. We chose Kaktus playa as it appeared modern, younger and centrally located and highly rated on Expedia. Hotel Volga was locked in a 70s time warp, predominantly ( 80% russian. per front desk ), weak evening entertainment of second rate russian dancers. Front desk assistant helpful, but, about 30 minutes of staff arguing and glancing looks and arm raising as if to say why are they here. Just generally poor customer service. Pool not heated. Food o.k. Supposedly they own beach club and have 15% discount there. Unfortunately they dont know about this. One day wouldt give, next day 5%, then, 10%, then 10% on food only. ( yes, the bill went back 3 times). Free kayaking at beach offered. when used, only between 11am and 1pm, then, wind too high, then waves too rough. Seemed like constant upsell to sailing or windsurfing with instructor etc. Overall, a painful, argumentative environment I would not recommend if going for relaxing time at beach.
