It was an ok experience good location.

Excellent value for money with a really good breakfast . The location is fantastic - right on the sea front near the pier. Our room was on the 2nd floor up a fairly steep narrow staircase so may have been an issue for less mobile guests but was spacious and clean with good facilities including a bath.

Room was clean, but a bit tired. It was a hot night and a good fan was provided. The sash window wouldn't stay open, so we had to wedge it with the rubbish bin. The radiator in the bathroom was on (!) and the knob to turn it off was missing. We reported it at 5.45pm, but when we came back to the room after 9pm, nothing had been done. Phoned again and a lady did come up, went and fetched a spanner and pliers and, with help, was able to switch it off. Breakfast was good. Parking is a real issue - only public carparks with a 3 hour limit, although it's possible to keep buying more tickets, but you have to keep going back to do it.

It was hot in my room due to the heat...even at night! Aircon didn't work...and when I asked them to fix it for my 2nd night stay it wasn't fixed. I felt they didn't care. Also early morning sun bashed into my room...why they not use black out curtains or blinds. Otherwise room was very clean and comfortable.

What spoilt our stay at Dunkerley’s was the very poor service received when we had a meal in the bar in the evening and especially at breakfast the next morning. Staff weren’t at all welcoming or helpful, they gave us no information as to the procedure at breakfast, my husband’s breakfast of smoked haddock and poached eggs was very meagre, poorly presented and virtually thrown at him. We felt that we were very begrudgingly served. At the evening meal in the bar we were disgusted at being presented with an iPad where we had to choose how much service charge we wanted to pay when we’d had no service! It was all disgraceful and quality of food had certainly dropped since we were last there. Fortunately there were 2 wonderful receptionists on when we arrived and when we left , they are to be commended. Household staff were lovely too. We definitely won’t be returning.

Perfect for an overnight stay at the coast

We stayed here before taking a cruise from Dover. Deal is an easy drive from the cruise terminal and a very pleasant seaside town. We really like Dunkerleys for it's lovely seafront location and convenient parking. The room was a good size and very comfortable. Breakfast was included and was excellent, and we both enjoyed the smoked haddock. We also ate in the restaurant on the Saturday night and had a delicious seafood meal that was extremely good value

Very nice one night stay. Hotel is nicely located opposite Deal beach. Lady at check in was friendly and helpful. Lovely room overlooking the beach and pier, good bathroom with a bath and rain shower. Hospitality tray with tea, coffee, hot chocolate and biscuits. Breakfast was good with drinks, cereals, fruit and yoghurt followed by choice of cooked food and toast. Staff were polite. Note there is no parking on site, but there are various parking options close by. Enjoyed our stay and would recommend.

Great room, although disappointed that you didn't have any spare pillows (one was found after day1) Parking a bit of a pain but that's no fault of yours. Great location (we have stayed here twice before) Excellent food Staff generally helpful and friendly but not always wanting to walk the extra mile (had an issue with no shaver point in bathroom) which was met with a shrug of the shoulders Will come again

The room was clean and comfortable,breakfast was tasty and plentiful.A special thanks to the young lady who checked me in, served me a beer,and served me breakfast.She was efficient,helpful and had a nice personality.

Service and helpfulness outstanding. They did the absolute best they could to make the conditions in the room the best they could considering the age of the property. The only downside I was the two flight staircase to our room. They really couldn’t have been more helpful and the hotel is well managed.

We had a beautiful room overlooking the sea. Great location and service at a good price. Would very happily stay again.

The hotel is at a nice location but no place to unload luggage and car has to be in public car park. Our room itself was ok BUT it was in a horrible location and I can’t believe fire safety is ok with that: from reception 4 steps up to dining room, 4 steps down to the first door past kitchen and bathroom, then another door and 2 steep and narrow flights of stairs up to the room with very low ceiling and view of some backyards. The bathroom was also tiny and the breakfast was average. We were hoping for a small town waterfront hotel with water views but couldn’t sleep half of the night because we felt uncomfortable/unsafe

Really friendly, staff great. No parking on site but pay and display literally 2 minutes across road seemed safe enough. Seafront location, close to town. Breakfast delicious. Room 4 excellent for solo traveller, great views!

We only booked one night . Nice comfortable room just a little tired looking could do with updating. Staff were very nice and the breakfast was excellent.

Great position on Deal seafront. Close to lots of restaurants and pubs, and short walk from the high street with many interesting shops. Hotel is a little dated, but nice and warm, comfy, friendly staff, great breakfast and we enjoyed a delicious - very good value meal in the restaurant. Would recommend

Great stay. Staff friendly and welcoming. Room was very nice, overlooking the sea. Plenty of storage, hospitality tray, iron and ironing board etc. Bed and pillows very comfortable. Good bathroom with rain shower and bath, nice white fluffy towels. Breakfast consisted of various cereals, fresh fruit (although not much and didn’t appear to be replenished), yoghurt, toast, choice of cooked, including fish. Staff very accommodating. Will definitely be staying again on our next trip to Deal. Thank you.

Great location

Made very welcome and I enjoyed set menu dinner there. But my husband’s coffee was awful and loo seat in bathroom was very loose.
