Very happy with this stay. Great location, easy walk everywhere. Daily clean and provision of milk etc was very good. Wifi wasn't perfect but we managed. Lovely staff, quiet area and great outlook.

I like the lounge areas in the foyer with the coffee machine and the comfortable beds. I also appreciate the great location that has a wonderful boardwalk beside it.

Great views over the port, super friendly staff. Perhaps not the most modern of facilities but everything was clean, comfortable and worked. We would stay again.
Possibly staying the obvious, but expect noise from the port afterhours.

Great stay here, everything we needed in the lovely little room. Great to have a balcony & brilliant idea having the little lounges with a free coffee machine in the lobby! Loved it. Walking distance to great restaurants, town & the beach.

We were looking forward to a relaxing weekend away, which my husband and I never have only to have soo many motorbike riders spoil that one weekend away with their noisy bikes arriving and departing early in the morning from the hotel ruining our weekend get away.

The front desk staff was very friendly & helpful.In the room the carpet was worn out at some places, although the aircon was on 18° it still was very hot & we opted to sleep with an open slider. I bumped my toe on the metal part at the bathroom door, because it wasn't leveled up with tile. Found a wet dirty face-cloth on the bathroom floor & there were no indication that it was serviced. So been first time visitors & for the amount we paid, the stay wasn't pleasant at all.

My kids and I loved staying at Portside Hotel. There is currently construction going on next door but we didn't hear too much loud noise.
We had a two bedroom suite. One with queen bed and another with two king singles. The second beroom wasnt designed to fit two single beds but my teenage kids made the small amount of space in the bedroom work.
The bathroom is showing signs of aging. There was a squeaky loose tile. The fan in the bathroom had a lot of dust on it. Could be from the washer and dryer in the bathroom. The fan probably needs to be cleaned more frequently.
Enjoyed having washer dryer in room as we stayed 3 nights and multiple trips to the Gisborne pool.
Lovely cleaning crew and reception staff. Would definitely book again.

Very thoughtful touches, well presented and organised hotel for an enjoyable stay. Close to beaches, walkways, cafes/restaurants, and has a great pool. We also meet the local owners who were very nice. A great place to stay!

The property was very convenient to the city and the warehouse, noel leemimgs and stationary warehouse was behind the property so very easy to walk to if you like these stores. There was also a walkway along the river, so great for those early morning walks and to Waikanae beach. The only thing that was disappointing was that i had booked 2 rooms and was not able to get adjoining rooms, which may have been inconvenient to neighbors as we had to consistently knock on the others door, day, morning at night when we wanted to visit of drop by with food. Also would of been nice to have a cafe/ restaurant onsite. Other than that it was a nice place to stay.

The facility had lovely soap/shampoo/ conditioner in each room, wonderful linen and fresh good quality towels. The room had everything you could need for cooking, ironing or blow drying your hair. The front desk staff were very helpful & professional. Checking in & out was seamless, as long as you were not a late arrival - well done Gizzy team.

The property is in a fabulous location - however in the early hours of the morning (2- 4am) the noise from the adjacent docks is just horrendous. The room's decor is very dated but the beds were comfortable. The bathroom products were excellent. Receptionists were professional and helpful.

Loved the view over the water and the close proximity to Main Street and restaurants. A wee bit noisy at times with ships off loading their cargo at the port late at night. Staff friendly and welcoming. Room very spacious and everything we needed.

We were very pleased with our accommodation, and were delighted to find a washing machine and drier in the bathroom, also a dishwasher and plates, pots, cutlery and all other essential items available to cook meals.

Quiet, great location close to walkway, so good to have washing machine/dryer and kitchen. Enjoyable stay. The hotel was accommodating and happily set up a rollaway bed for an additional guest. Thank you.

Huge building works going on next door which essentially ruined our stay. There was no notification this was the case when we booked.

Loved our stay. Lots of room in our 2 bdrm apartment. Kitchen well stocked and bathroom lovely & clean. Also loved having a washing machine and dryer handy in the room so we went home with no dirty laundry. Beds were also amazingly comfortable.

We had a wonderful stay at Portside . We have stayed at a few places in Gisborne as our Son and his family live there.
Portside was the best so far . The cleaning staff were wonderful , reception staff friendly and helpful and room has everything you need .
