Lovey spacious room, nicely furnished. The pub is wonderful inside with a great atmosphere. Amole parking & great food! Staff were all super friendly and very quick service. Would definitely stay here if working in the area again!

Superb stay, loved every minute. All staff were very welcoming and helped my elderly mum. Nothing was too much trouble. Will definitely stay there again and recommend it to anyone I know traveling that way.

It was good but the food at dinner was disappointing. It was so refined to the point that it lacked any flavour. Plus we think it was expensive. We would stay again but not eat there. It’s in a great location.

Excellent venue and location. Room was in an annexe that was well maintained and had everything we needed. Food and service were top quality and would highly recommend.

From Check in all the way through my one night stay i was nothing but inpressed. Service was exceptional and room was great with very comfy bed and powerful shower. I highly recommend.

Unique individual rooms outside of the pub/restaurant. Lots of free parking. Amazing breakfast, hot and freshly cooked.

If you are going to stay here please don’t be fooled by photos of the room you think you are booking. The photos for ’Room 1’ show a room with double aspect windows, that is most definitely not the case, I’m not sure which room it is of but it certainly isn’t Room 1 (or Room 2) The room details say that it has a King Size bed, this also is untrue, it is only a double. There is also an ever pervasive smell of sewage in the bathroom which, as you may imagine, did little to enhance the enjoyment of our stay. When we discovered the issue with the room, the member of staff who checked us in said that the manager would speak to us in the morning. That did not happen. The hotel has refused to communicate with Expedia, who we booked with, but have had the audacity to ask me for a review, so here it is - TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE, DO NOT BOOK Having said that, the staff that we encountered were lovely.

Ideal for a night or two business trip

When we stayed at The Royal Oak, the pub was unfortunately closed for refurbishment, but we were called beforehand and told about this. The bedrooms are in separate buildings outside and ours was lovely! It was tastefully furnished and spotlessly clean. Dinner was served in the function room. We didn’t have dinner as we were out at a sports event, but if breakfast was anything to go by I’m sure it was good. Breakfast was delicious with a good choice of dishes and large portions. The three members of staff that we met, the man who helped with our TV, the lady who cleaned our room and the lady who worked at breakfast (sorry, no names) were all very friendly and helpful. Thank you all. We will definitely stay again next year!

Great place

Warm welcome from the all the staff upon arrival &”service for food, breakfast & dinner great quality, would recommend. Room was lovely with really clean bathroom parking also easy .

We really enjoyed our stay at The Royal Oak. Although we did not eat in the restaurant because we had lunch earlier, the food that arrived whilst we sat in the bar, looked delicious! Special mention for Matt who chatted with us and mixed up a mulled wine for us!

This was a delightful find. A very different establishment, with cottage like rooms, were tastefully furnished, providing the high level required at an affordable price. The well appointed restaurant offered an eclectic mix of fayre. Well cooked, well presented. Perfect. A great find which I highly recommend.

Staff friendly, professional. Room excellent. Did have an issue with the connection of the wi-fi but this was sorted out.

Nice quiet room, big comfy bed. Food in the restaurant was very good. So fed up with chain hotels - this is a super place!

I was a little disappointed as room felt quite cold, and a little dated. There were radiators but no independent control to switch on. I would have expected better for the price I paid. Especially comparing to other hotels I have stayed. The staff were friendly. Breakfast was lovely.

Had been 3 years since I stayed at the Royal Oak and my last visit stayed there. Knew it was very nice place but my last visit showed it is now even better. Friendly staff, comfortable surroundings, excellent food, spot on!

Hotel is easy to find. Simple check in. Rooms are spacious with everything you need. Good wifi connection. Good choice of meals and very tasty and sensibly priced. Whole experience excellent would recommend highly
