Amazing property with incredibly friendly staff and top notch rooms

Incredible hotel, booked literally last minute (10 minutes before arrival) after running from another catastrophic 4* hotel in Cartagena. They immediately put us at ease with welcome drinks, we settled into an excellent lunch and checked into our junior suite. Highly recommend room 204 as it has a view over the palm trees and pool. Such kind staff, Germain, Katherine, Yeily, David, Leo and Amanda treated us like royalty. The day trip to their private beach at Acasi is definitely worth it, especially in comparison to other day trip offers. The boat is super safe, clean, small amount of passengers, and the beach itself on Baru is wonderful. They even went above and beyond when I had severe food poisoning (to no fault of their own) and sent a doctor to our room within 45 minutes. Next time in Cartagena for us there’s no choice but Casa Pestagua.

I really can’t express how much I loved our stay at Casa Pestagua. On our second day, my very hard to please teenage daughter declared, “I give this hotel a 10 out of 10!” The rooms are simply elegant. The hotel is beautiful and charming. However, the true standout is the service. Someone contacted me prior to our arrival to check in on our possible needs and to see if they could be of help with transportation. When we arrived, Katherine and Brandon were OUTSTANDING. I really cannot emphasize that enough. They went above and beyond to make sure we were happy with our rooms and that level of service continued through our trip. From the moment you enter this very special place, you are greeted with a warm smile and a helping hand. The pool in the courtyard was the perfect place to spend the afternoon after being out in the sun all day. They offered complimentary wine and snacks from 5-6 which was an unexpected treat. I am so glad my other plan didn’t work out!

A quick 3-day stay was not enough to fully enjoy Cartagena and especially the Suite Conde de Pestagua! The suite alone is glorious, and the private rooftop lounge and pool made it truly special. Everyone was exceedingly friendly and professional. Overall, a wonderful experience and we can't wait to return!

The staff at Casa Pestagua went above and beyond to ensure that we had a wonderful stay. The food, cleanliness and attention to detail were remarkable and reflected the values necessary for the Relais and Chateau designation. Highly recommend this property.

Brando and Vileria are amazing. Completely made us feel at home, arranged our excursions. The food (breakfast) is exquisite and the restaurant staff extremely attentive. One of the best stays in my lifetime so far (and we travel a lot!)

Casa Pestagua in Cartagena has become one of our favorite getaway spots. We enjoyed the people and service at this hotel so much, we went back 2 months later. Prior to arriving, I was in touch with concierge Leo. He booked, in advance, an incredible speed boat trip to Isle de Rosario Majagua where we did sporting activities. He also set up a reservation at “Top 10 bar” Alquimico, (dinner and rooftop). Once the staff at Alquimico knew we were from Casa Pestagua, they treated us like first class. Hotel Manager Katherine remembered us and was there “checking in” every step of the way to make sure our stay was going well. The food in the restaurant is top tier and maitre’d, Rene, professionally ensures that you get exactly what you want. They had not problem working around our gluten and dairy allergies. Hostess Juliana always greeted and sat us with a smile. David, Luis Felipe, Alvaro and Carol are the fun, personable wait staff who make meals very enjoyable. Bartender, Carlos, is always there to whip up one of his specialty drinks. Night concierge, Brando, knowledgeably directs you and makes reservations as needed. Doorman Luis and Carlos B made sure to carry all bags , open all doors and take all photos we wanted. The staff surprisingly came out and sang happy birthday to my girlfriend with balloons and cake. Love them all and can’t wait to go back . John D

This place was wonderful in every respect. The rooms were spacious and beautifully furnished. The staff was attentive, and everyone seem to know our name. The area outside by the pool was great for relaxing and reading.

Absolutely incredible hotel! Five star treatment from "hello"! Checked us in with a delicious cocktail, gave us a tour of the grounds, walked us into our room and showed us around! People don't get any friendlier. Walking distance to everything in the Old Town. From the bartender to the people behind the front desk... people couldn't be any nicer. It was my birthday so they even treated me with a cake! Don't give it a second though, book a room.

They made the magic of Cartagena even more magical. Casa Pestagua is an exotic, luxurious hotel with excellent service . Let’s start with the fact that we were greeted with complimentary watermelon cocktails by the pool before we checked in . The concierge Leo took care of every need . He booked a private island excursion to Islas del Rosario, with snorkeling, and a private tour of the city with a top notch tour guide, Julio. This was all done through the hotel at a reasonable price with no fuss. The night concierge Brando greeted us every night with a smile made sure we had fresh fruit and little cookies in our room. The location is in the middle of the old walled city in the middle of many boutiques, specialty shops and restaurants . The room itself was a two story suite with extra large bathroom right by the pool. My wife and I are also gluten free and the restaurant accommodated us easily. Waiters Rene and Caroline as well as David and Alvaro gave us everything we wanted. Not to mention how nice they were socially . I saw some bad reviews about the restaurant. They are not true. Food was excellent. Bar tender Carlos made us specialty drinks and even brought them to our room and doorman Luis always greeted us with a smile . The pool is nicely set in the courtyard surrounded by palm trees . We recommend this hotel highly !

Took my wife for her 40th birthday!!! The hotel is quiet and beautiful...we had the grand suite and was upgraded from there to one of the best rooms I've ever stayed in during my travels...roof top jacuzzi and all! The staff is very accommodating and friendly....we had a problem with 1 guy on the night crew being a Jerk..... but otherwise everyone was warm and friendly... they knew our names etc.... went iut of their way to help us..... even gave me pocket money to run around with at night to avoid using big bills exchanging etc. The A/C works very well! The breakfast was good.... we didn't try dinner. YOU CAN NOT HAVE GUEST....we learned that.... but was also accomidated in that regard. Overall... beautiful place beautiful staff of i can get the same room... I'm coming back!

Terrible. I had prepaid for my guest. Night staff would not allow my guest in due to their view of the identification, despite it being verified by police . I checked out due to this. The hotel refused to refund my remaining nights booked for two people . Incredibly rude, unprofessional and corrupt. I have visited Cartagena several times and never received this horrible treatment. I do not recommend this location for any services .

I travelled to Cartagena solo and stayed 3 nights. I was so delighted with the care and attention to my needs by the extraordinary staff that I barely left the property!! The staff was so delightful, thoughtful and attentive. Breakfast was an extraordinary experience and a perfect start to my day. My dinners were also lovely, and the chef was keen to accommodate my vegetarian requests. I booked a suite so that I would have an area to write during the day, I found the room spacious and very comfortable. And the BED! It was incredible to fall into each night. I highly recommend this hotel and had a beautiful experience.
