Good although a couple of lights didn’t work and because the restaurant wasn’t open then there were no other facilities

Was a very big, clean room with a massive shower & bath. However, it wasn’t made clear that the room I booked would be out in a separate building. I was a little disappointed as I was hoping to stay in the quaint hotel building. Apart from that, nice place.

Warm welcome and fab room (No 6) on the top floor (which we requested) with oak cruck beams & exposed brickwork plus large bathroom with roll-top bath and separate shower. This surpassed our expectations.The dining experience overall was not so good, although the food itself was very good, but hugely overpriced. The (female) maitre d' had a bossy, superior manner which grated on us. The cheapest wine was a mediocre Shiraz at 30E. The restaurant was in three classically elegant rooms, but we were led through two superior-looking ones into what seemed like an overflow room with a big empty table in the middle and no atmosphere. Only another English couple and a young Belgian (we think) couple were in there. Even though we had ordered at 8pm for our booking at 8.30, it was 9pm when we were sent (not taken) to our table and service was so slow we left at 10.45, having only had two courses. She then insisted we pay (169E for two courses) before leaving, even though we were resident.- no charging to the room. Breakfast was in a modern, self-service cafeteria in an adjacent building, and was an ok cold buffet, but not worth 17E We would not return or reccomend Hotel Recour.

A very charming small hotel in the lovely town of Poperinge.Our room was olde world yet modern with all the mod cons including air con and jacuzzi bath plus super king size four poster bed- very comfortable.

Checking in was a little haphazard but once we made contact staff were helpful. The building is seventeenth century and the room was delightfully furnished to reflect its age though the adjoining door to the ensuite bathroom was flimsy. Breakfast was very good. The restaurant is separately run and therefore the evening meal should be paid for at the time.

Excellent room, close to everything, parking nearby, all within walking distance

Excellent hotel in convenient place for exploring the area. Lovely room, excellent breakfast and near to town centre

I had a wonderful stay here. The staff is incredibly nice and helpful. The building and room was great. Very nice setting and easy to walk around Poperinge.

Amazing hotel, lovely and decorative and clean. Jet bath was great and the staff were delightful to both us and our hound. We will be back!!!

I know it wasnt busy season, but everyone loves an upgrade, no matter what the reason. Beautiful room, beautifully furnished. Loved the extra little touches too.

The rooms in the main building are very characteristic, not always very practical but interesting. The new building (via a walk bridge) is more contemporary. Very nice spacious rooms.

We stayed two nights but had to book a third at short notice on a Sunday having forgotten to worm the dog with a vet prior to return to uk that day. Hotel owner helped me get hold of the vet and gave walking directions which reduced the stress. Lovely choice for breakfast €17 extra. Very highly recommended restaurant on site which unfortunately we didn't have time to visit. Local area has endless points of interest for 1st and 2nd world war enthusiasts and their less enthusiastic partners. Room was luxurious, dog friendly, had a spa bath and an amazing separate shower and we were in a standard room !!! Highly recommend this hotel. Had a fantastic one night stay with my husband and border terrier. The staff were super friendly, especially as we arrived late at night. The room was massive (pretty sure its bigger than my flat), very comfortable and clean. Theres a lovely local park right near the hotel, which was perfect for our dog. Local town is very quiet and peaceful with some nice cafes for coffee/drinks/bite to eat. Parking next to the hotel is pay and display and pretty cheap. There was a market in the town centre on Friday morning (we think its there every day, but we only stayed one night so cant be too sure) that sold all kinds of things from clothes to cheese. Really lovely stay and wed absolutely return if were ever in that neck of the woods again.

This is a lovely hotel in the middle of the town. It is beautifully furnished and really well equipped. Just stopped for one night but it was really good

We had a very warm welcome with plenty of help over parking etc. Our room was absolutely stunning and the most memorable of any hotel bedroom I have ever stayed in. The exquisite taste of the decor is perfectly chosen for the old building which has immense charm. The breakfasts were simple and utterly delicious, again everything was immaculately presented. The bed was the best thing of all about 10 feet wide and extremely comfortable.

We were in the Flanders region for a few days. Our room here was very nice and a great size for a European hotel (we did book a superior room). We were nice and close to lots of dining options which was good because we stayed on a Sunday and Monday when the hotel restaurant was closed.

Sadly we were only able to stay 1 night but we loved the hotel and hope to return another day

Nicest hotel I have ever stayed in for the money. Easy to find and own carpark behind. We opted for the "romantic" rooms . Ours was beautiful. Lots of added extras eg 3 different types of glasses , decanters of Sherry ( I think), magnifying glass, bottle opener , robes and slippers and more. Beautifully and tastefully decorated with lovely linen and towels. Staff wonderful( we were shown to our room) but unobtrusive. Garden/ terrace which I imagine is fab in the summer. (I was there on a freezing snowy day) Town very attractive with a selection of bars and restaurants in the square and surround. Unfortunatley for us most were closed although we had a brilliant meal in "The Fiddler". Interesting town to wander aroud with a couple of lovely churches. Tourist information office in the square with plenty of info. We are certainly going back there and are saving up to use the spa and have dinner in the Pegasus Restaurant.

Beautiful old style hotel. Service was excellent and one of the most comfortable rooms I have stayed in. Breakfast was served in an annex building but was exquisite.
