the noise was terrible you should not have accommodation above the pub for the amount of money we paid. We also got charged to early access to the room.

Room were clean & well presented.. The noise levels from street & downstairs bar were a negative.. We were warned prior to our stay, but if it think if your offering accommodation better control measures should be under taken to control noise, not just offering ears plugs in the hallway..

I did not know that it is a night club and pub as well, my bad. Did not like the entrance via pub, with drunk guy and some drunk ladies outside . This shall the personnel take care of or have another entrance . The room was clean and the beds comfortable. We were the only guests in the hotel and we got very tiny room for 3 of us, no upgrade or anything.

Writing this review for a potential family. Checking in to accommodation at local bar was difficult when told child can’t hang around here. (Understandable with liquor laws). Cleanliness was poor, with slow cistern in toilet meaning entered bathroom to find remnants of faeces in toilet, despite a hygiene seal taped across. Tv not watchable, picture too dark and not adjustable. In fairness, This would only apply to the room we stayed. Most disappointing part is receiving this notification after booking from the operator “although we strive to ensure a peaceful stay, some guests may be disturbed by the noise from the bar and nightclub that is open until 2 am. Unfortunately, noise-free rooms cannot be guaranteed’. I feel this is need to know information before booking a non refundable room with a $200 security deposit. Checked Wotif.com and certainly no mention of the deposit. Karaoke was listed as activity to do, didn’t connect the dots sleeping on top of it. My bad. We didn’t re-enter the pub/nightclub to raise concerns with staff, lining up with customers ordering drinks to complain. Felt awkward. Positives - plenty of ear plugs supplied. Perhaps if you are partying yourself, you won’t mind the loud noise until the early hours (join them). I would suggest “not family friendly” or anyone who doesn’t want to sleep with ear plugs.

The property was not identified as a Karaoke venue & was only made known after booking was made that there was no guarantee that there would be no noise, when my staff checked in they were told that headphones were in the hall way & the venue was a licenced Karaoke Venue till 2am.

Basic accomodation but good location. Reasonably priced for CBD location.

There is a disco and kareoke bar in the hotel beneath the room. The noise was so loud that I could hear it banging through the ear plugs I was sleeping with. This went on until almost 2am and I could not sleep at all. The hotel is also next to the main road and traffic noise and lights from the street is horrible. Aside for this there are insence sticks in the lobby (I assume to mask the smell of cigarette smoke) which gave my terrible hay fever. It definitely should not get an 8.2 rating!! It was not good at all!

Amazing accommodation in the heart of Wollongong, everything was lovely and clean, the beds were soft and the staff are very pleasant. Definitely value for money, and I would stay there again.

I was expecting some noise - after all, the hotel is above a pub and on a busy street. What a pleasant surprise to have such a quiet night (Monday), comfortable bed and convenient location for the best price in Wollongong. I would definitely stay here again. Bonus - just around the corner, Lower East Cafe. Great coffee & food!

Overall a good stay - mix up with double payment at check in but other than that I cannot fault it.

What is not disclosed is that this hotel is actually a pub hotel with the weekends turning into a nightclub and karaoke every evening. The hotel space of the building has heavy smell of cleaning and air fresheners that made me nauseous

Basic motel in a great location. I stayed there a Tuesday night and the noise levels where at a minimum. Soft comfortable beds. Would happily stay there again

Great stay at the Harp.

Very central property. We stayed for one night and found it so convenient. It is on the main road and you do get the noise of traffic. We were told about the noise from the Kareoke bar below but to be honest it wasn’t as loud as we thought. I would definitely stay there again

Not enough parking space, too hard to find the entrance of parking space of the hotel you have to go around at the back of the hotel, very noisy to loud the karaoke, very noisy can’t sleep, the room where we stayed the toilet will flush but you have to wait for awhiles before you use it again other wise it won’t flush it straightaway very inconvenient over all, and the room it’s seem smells,

Very happy with accommodation ,staff were helpful and accommodating, location and access to transport excellent...overall very happy with The Harp.

Value , clean accomm in the Gong CBD. Bed mattress was very comfortable..forgot to check brand..but will find out. We had a back room and nightclub noise was minimal. Ear plugs not needed..haha. 18 pub, so kids cannot eat at pub. Will probably stay again.
