Room was large but sparsely furnished bed was comfortable but no comfortable chair to sit in was there 3 days and had to ask for cleaning service had refrigerator and microwave and a large kitchen area with plenty of drawers but all of them we're empty the room was all light blue walls and white counter felt like a institution rather than a hotel cold would never go back

The room was very nice. It was clean except for around the bathroom floor molding and by the refrigerator.

My stay was great, with the exception of the BEDS. Couldn’t sleep very well but everything else was wonderful!

It was nice but a little dated even though it was updated some years ago. It’s actually one of the better hotels on the boardwalk. Loved the pool and large balcony with ample chairs and table. The tub was extremely slippery which made me slip and fall. I’m still pretty sore. The one mattress had a large stain on it, not comfortable and needs replacing. The air conditioner was very noisy, which made it harder to sleep. Bottom line is I would still recommend staying there if they would make a few changes.

Absolutely loved the room ! Very spacious and came with a full fridge, dishwasher, sink, microwave and mini stove top. The only complaint I have is the bed!! That bed is the hardest thing I’ve ever slept on. My only recommendation would be possibly, a mattress topper; give it a bit of plush. It’s insanely firm and definitely not recommended for folks with back issues. I didn’t have a good nights rest but outside of that, I would definitely stay again but will be bringing my own disposable topper.

We have stayed at a different hotel for the past 18 years. They raised their prices so high we decided to look for another "home". We may have found it. The beds are incredible. I slept so well all week. We loved everything about our room. I have only one complaint. PLEASE sweep the patio. The patio was sandy. The floors are laminate so the sand sticks and can get in your bed if you dont wipe your feet off.

BEWARE We stayed at this property for the Oceans Calling Concert 2023. We had to change rooms within our stay bc of availability when booked which was not ideal but okay. Unfortunately we left our hanging clothes in there old room when we changed to the new. We realized a couple of hours later and alerted the front desk. That's when the problem began. First we were told they were not clothes in there, then were told they were in the holding room locker and we could get them the next day. The next day it was a ridiculous debacle of there, not there, don't know - this went on for hours. We were checking out now and my daughter and I had to leave so my husband stayed back to handle it. Finally some things were returned in a plastic bag BUT most things were not there. We estimated that approximately $1500 of clothing was "stolen." When I notified the management after my husband gave us the clothes, the only response was..."Yeah, unfortunately it was our end of season help so we have no way of getting them back." No compensation, real apology, or accountability. So if you stay, hold on tight to your belongings and do not make a human error!!

Love the location and the staff is very nice. Our only issue this time was we paid for an Ocean Front and got an Ocean View. Made no attempt to change us to Ocean Front. The room had no silverware, plates or cups so we had to go buy plasticware, plates and cups. Freezer in fridge was iced up and couldn't shut the door all the way and had to throw all our food out.

The room was smaller than I thought it would be for $500 a night. Staff was terrific.

Great place to stay with your family!

Friendly staff, clean room and bathroom. Nice pool, just wish the pook stayed open later (an evening dip would have been nice). Quick check-in/out. Queen bed area of our suite was a bit tight, but it was manageable with just 2 people. Free beach chair service was a nice surprise. No issues. Would stay here again.

The location of the property was perfect, the room was fit 4 adults and 2 children comfortably. I will definitely be back.

8/15-19/24 I enjoyed my stay at the Commander. I had an ocean view. Loved the convivence of being on the boardwalk, food locations, easy access to beach. Free chair rental (2 per room)

Nice hotel, friendly staff. Great location. Only thing I wish they had was a manual safety latch on the door. My 2 year old grandson could unlock the door and go into the hall.

The location, view and staff were excellent! The room where the beds are is very tight yet kitchenette was very roomy. Balcony was huge and you could see the ocean and bay from our 7th floor navigators suite. The one bed has springs that squeaked when you moved. A/C was very loud. A lot of the place was just dated and outside doors/ windows needed a good cleaning and painting. Toaster was old. There were no curtains on the windows, just blinds, so it was very bright in the morning. There is not enough parking close to hotel, especially if you needed to be close for mobility issues. If you tried to park during the day or after 10 at night, you were out of luck. The room is not very soundproof so you heard every outside noise. Overall, we had a nice time because of the location. This hotel is just your basic, no frills hotel but not inexpensive. You pay for location. Another positive is they give you 2 beach chairs to use per unit.

Nice people and everything but not as clean inside the room we got two rooms and both rooms floors were disgusting the rooms had everything but no clean floors for us is number one priority they were supposed to talk to the manager to get some kind of credit back on both of the room we’re still waiting

Horrible experience at this hotel. I booked the hotel on Expedia with Oceanfront view/ limited view not knowing the meaning behind that. I get to the hotel that day early and the room was not ready. I waited until 3:30 and it still wasn’t ready and the girl at the front desk was rude didn’t get her name. The policy of the hotel which is placed on the inside of the hotel says check in is at 3pm but they totally ignored it. They finally call me and I go up to see the room. It was a horrible room, they put me on the second floor with a balcony on top of the restaurant Grotto Pizza where all the birds flied and they came on to my balcony and pooped all over my balcony. I couldn’t use the balcony at all which I paid extra for. I go downstairs to speak with the manager SPENCER who rude as well and I told him about the situation. His response was "You can leave there is nothing I can do for you”. That’s not how a manger should respond to a customer who asked politely and is paying a lot of money to stay at this hotel. The room was also dirty and my blankets had blood on them and looked like they were not even washed at all. The Fridge was dirty from the previous people who stayed in this room and hotel. There are many other hotels and even motels on the boardwalk that are a 1000x better than this place.
