Gorgeous hotel, great amenities. Incredibly loud due to the proximity of Rainey St - would stay again during the week but the weekend, even with the white noise machine provided in the room and earplugs wasn’t able to get much sleep.

I thought it was good overall. I was disappointed that there wasn’t a bathtub, so I chose this hotel because they have tubs in the pictures. But it was clean - the towels were noticeably aged, so I gave a 4 for cleanliness. The staff was friendly, the beds were comfortable, and the food was good!

It’s the little things that make or break. The checkin was awesome. I had 3 rooms for myself and staff. The folks checking us in were great. We loved the nice touch of a margarita! We went to our rooms and met up in the lobby bar. Our waitress was wonderful. She realized without being told that my wine was a small pour. Then brought me a ‘make-up’ glass. It’s the housekeeping I found frustrating. First day they cleaned but didn’t take my dirty drinkware: coffee cup and margaritas glass. Day 2 they still left dirty drinkware. Day 3. Yea! They look all but 1. Left clean coffee cup but no coffee pods.

They didn’t have our reservation (but found us a room), put us next to a barking dog all night, and the valet stood there while I loaded my heavy suitcases in the trunk and could have cared less about helping. Wouldn’t stay again

This was my second stay at the hotel, and was SHOCKED to see how much the neighborhood was developing. The Van Zandt was just like I remember... a beautiful hotel and a great experience..

It was a good stay but very noisy. This hotel is right in a very busy part of Austin with all night partying. If you are looking for relaxation this is not the hotel for you

Nice hotel if you like to party, but not if you want to sleep. Surrounded by very cool bars but the music bleeds in very loudly.

I had a great time and the stay was awesome. Vibrant nightlife scene right outside the door so it can be loud later at night, but there is so much to do and tons of great food trucks right outside the front door. If I’m ever back in Austin , I will definitely stay at the Van Zandt again!

Everything was clean. Indoor service was polite. The only problem was the valet service. Obviously construction nearby was a problem. However, the wait for a car exceeded 20 minutes on several occasions. Also, leaving the property on foot involved waking through hordes of people waiting for cars. Something should be done to improve the valet service.

This property is in a fantastic location. The room was wonderful, and the staff were amazing. This hotel has everything you need in one place-food, drinks, swimming, within walking distance to severa great eateries, and shopping is a close drive.
There is a lot of construction in the area and several bars so if you are bothered by noise I would recommend seeking a hotel outside of the city. Also, parking is expensive. There are no local parking areas around due to the construction.

I have never stayed at the Van Zandt before, but I will from now on when traveling to Austin. Great location, walkable to my convention. Close to restaurants and bars. I loved checking out Rainey street literally around the corner. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The hotel restaurant had great options. The pool was relaxing with plenty of spots to sit and soak up the sun. It’s a 10/10.

The folks working at HVZ were incredibly kind and patient. They made us feel incredibly welcome, even anticipated when our car would be needed in the morning. Couldn’t recommend more highly.

Unique property that is very dog friendly. During the Hurricane in July in Houston we drove to Austin for a few days. We were very happy with the room, location and that they were within walking distance to a park where we could walk out dog. Will definitely stay there when we are in Austin

Conveniently located near many bars and restaurants along Rainey Street. Very cozy hotel with a relaxing ambiance. Highly recommend.

One word—-People. Valet was very cheery . Front desk, woman, inviting, the cat in the coffee shop who also works at Geraldine’s was an absolute refreshing person interact with, his eyes are all over the place, asking people if they needed help finding Interesting places to go to.
Saturday night, What appeared to be the lead bartender, solid beard, making mad, cocktails, and engaging with everybody, at all levels, made the experience, kept my water full 24 seven which is extremely important, as he did with everybody.
At that point, I decided , when I’m coming to see cake at Moody amphitheatre in September , I’ll be bringing my crew to the Van Zandt…..
