Lovely big room. Everything was thought of - in the conservatory area spare umbrella's blankets, maps, books, games, torches, walking sticks to borrow. We had a lovely stay.

Easy check in, nice room, very clean, great views

we were on the ground floor, good that we didn't have to climb stairs, bur our window looked out onto the splendid conservatory, so for privacy the panes had been obscured. This meant the room felt claustrophobic. Excellent en-suite bathroom. No food served in the hotel so had a short walk to the co-owned pub on the main street. Thankfully it didn't rain. No lake view from ground level.

Great choice for Grasmere with dogs. Especially as you don’t pay extra for their stay. We stayed in The Cottage which was ideal for our short break. Will definitely book again.

This is a lovely place to stay, a truly ideal location just a minutes walk to the village but with plenty of free parking. It’s a pretty building with character, but none of the creaky floorboards or questionable decor you often get with ‘character’ buildings. The bed was plenty comfy, the bedroom was uncluttered and the bathroom was spacious in the “Loft” room. It would have been truly ideal for us as a place to stay as a couple with no time pressures. We had a toddler with us, and upon booking we were immediately offered a cot bed for her in the room which felt very attentive. Having a toddler in that room wasn’t very practical as there was nowhere to put anything out of reach, the doors didn’t have a lock or latch (on the inside or the room door or bathroom) and there wasn’t much spare space in that particular room. The bathroom was attractively decorated and contained pleasant, sustainable toiletries but without a shower or shower attachment on the bath, getting ready took longer than normal. Hot water was instant and plentiful at any time day or night. Room heating was great. In short it’s ideal for couples, but wouldn’t comfortably fit more in.

We stayed in Penthouse which was fab! Beautiful views of the lake and had everything we needed. Was a little concerned as dog friendly that there may be a dog smell but needn't have worried the whole apartment was imaculate. I didnt realise we'd still have tea, coffee etc as we had our own kitchenette so was a lovely bonus. Banged my head a couple of times as lowered ceiling white so blends into the rest - no problem with the beams, so maybe just a different colour or an arrow would help. However it didn't detract from our wonderful stay. We will definitely be back!

Loved the accommodation for location and cleanliness. Beautiful grounds. Only disappointment is lack of availability of anywhere to eat due to covid and staff shortages. Overall though I would return.

The Cottage offered very spacious, clean and comfortable accomodation with its' own car parking space right outside the front door. Perfectly suited to our walking holiday and we would be happy to stay there again.

Amazing stay, friendly host, bountiful spot.

We stayed in Lake room which was beautiful with great facilities. Breakfast was a short walk away at the Good Sport pub, staff were helpful & friendly and breakfast was great.

The room and facilities were great, we tried the breakfast in the cafe just down the road, linked to the hotel offering 10% discount to guests but found it not to our taste. We booked self catering to give us options, just a couple of minor points, we had only 1 large pan and the drawers next to the kitchenette unit sticks badly. One night, the whole room smelled of garlic from the cooking in the room below, this got to be really overpowering. The owners were lovely and friendly, some nice touches, chocolates and port if you wanted it. The toiletries were really good quality, comfy bed and overall we were really satisfied with our stay.

Wonderful location, wonderful rooms with fantastic bed and bedding. High quality fitments with plenty of cutlery etc and handy small kitchen. The views are amazing and bathroom was massive in Riverside. Our only tiny negative was the sqeeky floor boards but they were being replaced as we left. The breakfast was brilliant just a short walk down the lane and staff very accommodating. Could not fault any of our stay and will return

Lovely house with lovely views. Only fault was other guests banging the doors and was quite noisy wirh toilets flushing footsteps etc. house in a great place for the village, pub for breakfast. Most enjoyable visit

Fantastic in every way. We decided to stay self catering in the penthouse and it had everything we wanted. Careful you dont bump your head on those beams tho. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay, highly recommended 10/10

Nothing to dislike. Had proper coffee and tea bags in the room. Large bedroom with lake view. Very comfy bed. Quiet lane setting but right at the heart of Grasmete. Fantastic price too. Will definitely stay there again.

Good location in the heart of Grasmere and friendly staff. The room was immaculately clean and the beds were extremely comfortable. We stayed on the ground floor, in the Garden twin bedroom. It was quite basic, although not uncomfortable. There was not much room to put anything, especially by the ensuite bathroom sink where a shelf would be useful. Unfortunately, being on the ground floor meant we could hear everyone going past our door and the people directly above us walking around was very noisy! The breakfast included was very tasty and we enjoyed the homemade muesli.

We enjoyed our first stay here (and our first stay in the Lake District). We don’t have dogs and failed to appreciate that everyone else has them up here! The hotel is cosy, clean and has great views. No food onsite (except for tea and coffee making and biscuits) but the breakfast served at the sister out a few metres up the road is very nice.
