Need to work on customer experience. No vending machines or hotel store. No in-room info on TV stations/local places to eat. Desk clerk unfamiliar with local restaurants, recommended places that were closed. Lobby closed, no one available for customers before 11am. Comfortable bed, pillows worn, lumpy, flat. These are such easy things to address and would make a big difference to guest experience.

I've started multiple times, the rooms are always clean. Nothing fancy but clean well kept furniture.

Stayed here for the weekend with friends. The rooms were spacious and clean. The little restaurant/bar was a huge plus and had live music Friday night. We will definitely stay here next time we are in the area.

It was marvelous the bed was a bit firm for our liking but it was such a pleasant experience would highly recommend!

Enjoyed our stay. The food in the restaurant was great.

My complaint is with the mattress. The bed is a mattress on a wood platform. It is not secured. Lean up against the wall in bed and ur mattress slides off into the floor.
Other than that? I’m not sure this is normal as they did recently have severe flooding.
Otherwise ok place. Quiet. BR clean.

We enjoyed the stay. The hotel had recently been flooded, so they were still working through their issues. The room was spacious, but the A/C unit was a little loud. The food in the restaurant was excellent.

On Hotels.com I reserved (2) rooms for my stay. I had another friend with me. Once we arrived there I was told that a second room was not available. I showed the person in the office my confirmation and printout but quite honestly she could not have cared less. I was told that I should have called instead of booking through Hotels.com. If the people at this hotel know there is a problem with booking on the app and they continue to use it for room reservations then that should tell potential guests all that they need to know. It is my opinion this hotel does not care at all about customer service or satisfaction and I would recommend that everyone enjoy their stay somewhere else.

Was a great place. Huge room with 2 king bed and 1 queen. No elevator but only 2 floors. Bar downstairs was loud till about 10. Hotel has a cool outside area on the creek. Parking is bad until the bar closes. But great place!! Will stay again!!

Nice cabin style. Great music.

Old rooms, smells in some areas, rooms need to be cleaned, deep cleaned. First room bathroom was so dirty, like a road side Porta potty dirty. New room was better but could use some deep cleaning in areas. Manager never emailed or called us back.

What a dump. Photos are very misleading. The ONLY good thing I can say is that the very small bathroom, refrigerator, and microwave were clean. The carpet was deep dirty, the outer door had a security lock but wouldn’t close at all, the place was very musty smelling and they tried to cover it up with air freshener. The ice machine had cobwebs growing in the dispenser—no telling how long it had been out of service. There was no sign on it and it was plugged in. There was a wide gap between the door frame and the wall in my room. A good push with a screwdriver would have been all that was needed to break in. The AC was awful. I had to go buy a fan. Lastly, the windows are covered with paper disposable blinds. They filter zero light and the outside lights are bright. No way to bring the light level down at night. Glad I didn’t book my entire vacation stay at this place. The sad thing is the property has great potential. If someone invested some real money it could be a classic and attract a good clientele that would pay premium rates.

Nice little weekend getaway. Room and property were clean. Friendly staff and great value for what we received!

Nice place for a quick stay. Very affordable. Clean property with nice view of mountains and creek. Bar and dining on pretty. Allowed pets. Beds were too hard and AC noisy but for the price it was a nice stay in the area

We were quite disappointed with the WiFi, did not work most of the time so no phone or tv for the two nights.

This was an older property, but clean and convenient. The staff was friendly. It is a pet friendly place. We loved being on the river and close to so many restaurants. We enjoyed the on site tavern and music. Great for the price.

The pictures of the lodge were really dated, the grounds were nice, they had music 1 night with a band which was nice, but the lodge itself did not meet expectations. The staff seemed nice.

Male at front desk was friendly. Got us checked in quickly. The bottle of the toilet and dried up pee around it. The shower could had been cleaner. WiFi was no good. Channels on the tv kept freezing up. Will not stay there again

We let our dog out in the middle of the night and our car keys would not allow us reentry into our room. We had to sit outside with no response to phone calls to all three emergency numbers on the office door with a notation that there was no staff until 9:00 a.m. . Other guests who were out walking their pets were kind enough to try with their phones and we ended up having to call the Maggie valley Police department to get back into our room. No one available even after 9:00 a.m. for check out to register our complaint.

Love the Valley Tavern (on premises) and the outdoor dining drinking area. Convenient to all things in the Maggie Valley area.

Smokey Falls Lodge was a great value. We were only there one night, but our friends stayed for a week in a suite, also a good value.

We really like this place. They are dog friendly, actually all of Maggie Valley is. Their restaurant has good food and drinks. There’s live music outdoors. A mountain river is out back. Lots of stores and restaurants in walking distance. Yes, it’s dated, but that’s the charm of it. And the owners are always making improvements. If you want a nice, comfortable, convenient place to stay, this is it. And at a bargain price ☺️

It was fun place to stay with great food in the dining area, and good music outside, with a creek running right out back. Sat and enjoyed the atmosphere and was able to relax and rest.

I loved the layout of our room, with 2 king beds & queen bed, 2 love seats, fireplace w/ TV above, in the sitting area plus a table and chairs. Our room had a micro wave and efficiency refrigerator.
The decor was of a rustic cabin.

This is an older property and I understand age, but maintenance & upkeep go a long way.
Had to hunt for toilet paper in the room (no holder on the wall) and despite saying "61" the AC in the room didn't get below 69. Many of the rockers under the pavilion are broken & the steps/handrail to the pavilion are broken and unstable.
Every trash can onsite was overflowing for at least two days.
I'm certain I booked an exterior entrance room (close to bike parking) but instead got an interior room as far away from bike parking as possible.
Always stay here when I'm in the area but this most likely my last time for this hotel.

The room was very roomy and clean. Bed was comfortable. Many food places and shops within walking distance. Cost was also reasonable for it being the "tourist season".

We stay there often and it’s nice and quaint. Wish they had some parking just for guests because when the bar has a big event, guests can’t find a place to park.

Such a fun little place! The locals that were hanging out were very friendly! It is quite charming and relaxing.

The property itself is wonderful. I go twice a year to Maggie valley for the hillbilly jam. However I will not be staying at this hotel ever again. I had an emergency and had to leave a day early and they would not refund me! Also they are not in office when they say they will be and the guy was kind of rude on a ring camera that is the only way you can speak to the people in the office early in the morning
