I immediately felt at home. A warm welcome, and just what I needed for a good night of sleep. Nothing unneeded!

Hostel Anchorage was in an ideal location to explore the city and get out to the mountains for some hiking. While I stayed in the dorm, it was silent at night and very easy to fall asleep. The owner was very friendly and you can tell he really cares about the place as it is in immaculate condition. I would definitely stay here again the next time I'm in Kobe.

I needed a room in a pinch, so based on the high ratings, I booked two nights. Limited hours: Had to cancel first night because my train arrived at 10:15 pm at Shin-Kobe station. The information in the email said No Check-in after 10pm (limited front desk hours). However, I saw a small sign in the common room that you could pay ¥500 for late check-in. Towel Rental: ¥150 if you’d like a towel for your shower. Shower room: The woman’s shower room on 3rd floor had no hooks, shelves, or anything for you to hang or place your towel, clothes, or toiletries. Everything goes on the floor! People staying on other floors can enter the 3rd floor after hours by using an access code, which is loud. No chance for a peaceful sleep. I was happy to save money at first, but quickly realized that I’m better suited for a budget business hotel.

Well maintained hostel ran by owner who is friendly and loves to travel. Within 5-10mins walk from JR train station and plenty of food around the hostel.

It was nice and comfortable experience. I found it is so clean and also shower facility is so nice. The host was so kind that I could get information of this city.

Air conditioner did not open in the night. One Thai traveler complains the room is crazy hot. The staff came and said " all complaints from your Thai group, don't complains again" after I said I came from Hong Kong and it really hot. Please turn on the air conditione. He said you could open your bed curtain for sleeping or paid more money for private room. Hey, My bed in front of your flat door..What is this crazy concept...it is a sauna night !!! Really poor night!

Wonderful place!!! The hostel is fairly new and in a really good shape. The beds and the common area are perfect! Importent to mention that the owner of the place is doing a great job and is a really nice person! After staying in Japan for more than a month this has been one of the best places to stay. When I come back to Kobe again I will for sure stay at this place again.
