What a fabulous place to stay. Lovely room, comfy bed, funky kettle and coffee machine whisper luxury at you, the bathroom is huge and the shower a dream. The food was superb, the wine well-kept, and the beer whose name I've forgotten too (it's the one that goes in the sourdough starter) and OMG the sourdough bread deserves a mention all of it's own. If you're going to give the sourdough a few paragraphs in the magazine it's got to be good, well it was better than that! It's not cheap of course, but it is very good!

Beautiful hotel which was full of features and the decor was fantastic. However, we were unfortunately in a room (10) next to some sort of service room, and there was a very annoying and loud humming noise which went on all night. We complained to receptionist in the evening (they admitted it wasnt the first complaint they'd had about it) but they said unfortunately they were full so couldnt move us, but would sort something in the morning. After a terrible nights sleep, we checked out and the receptionist acknowledged the fact we'd complained about the noise, but said there was nothing they could do for compensation as we booked through Hotels.com. which didn't feel like great service. To be honest, they were pretty dismissive, which considering there had been previous complaints, feels poor. Disappointing, as other than this the hotel was lovely, but being able to sleep is pretty much key!

Hotel is beautiful building and is very well decorated and designed inside. We had a brilliant stay for one night. The bed was soft but luxurious and comfy. Room was clean and tidy. There were a few niggles considering is a 5 star hotel hence given only four happy faces ie, had to carry kettle to a socket to be able to use, not much choice of tea (although did see a notice to say can ask for this but we didn't want to bother with that), some lights were brilliant white and others warm white which gave a strange lighting, a few lights had gone out, there is no full length mirror, no plugs for hairdryer close to a mirror. Overall our stay was brilliant and I would definately return, just dissapointed with the standard of a 5 star hotel.

Very comfortable - friendly, professional staff.

Stylish hotel - very clean and well-presented with comfortable beds and beautiful bathrooms. Extremely friendly and accommodating staff. A few small details would have made it the perfect stay: tissues in the room and milk for the tea/coffee. You could phone down for them but that shouldn't be necessary for such basic items. Unfortunately, the restaurant wasn't available and the bar snacks / breakfast menu was a little limited (Covid restricted?). However, what they did offer was delicious and well-cooked.Would definitely stay there again. It was a very enjoyable experience!

The restaurant has only been open once out of 4times, which is very inconvenient after a long drive. The bar staff are very friendly and helpful but the receptionist in the evening not so. No water in the room or complimentary snack on most visits. Attention to detail is missing. Might have to try a new hotel next time.

This is a fantastic hotel. It is gorgeous and the service is beyond compare. Highly recommend!! Rooms are spacious and beautiful. Not to be missed.

Lovely place to stay. Rooms are as good as youll find anywhere in the country. Staff are as friendly as youll find anywhere in Yorkshire.
