We could not have been more pleased. Everything from the room, to the view, to the staff was fantastic. We wish we had stayed longer, and highly recommend this hotel.

Beautiful location right on the beach, friendly and helpful staff and the food was good! We also went diving and had a great time.

This place exceeded our expectations. Food and staff were awesome. Lisseth went above and beyond to help us with arranging transportation to our next destination. The cooks were awesome and accomadating. The entire staff was eager to help for anything Christy Thibodeaux

Had a wonderful time at Pirate Cove. Beautiful spot near the National Park and Cano Island with two long beaches to explore and lots of diving/snorkeling and swimming. Staff were fantastic - very friendly, and service was great from the chefs to the management. Would definitely recommend this resort.

Everyone at Pirate Cove works extremely hard to make your stay the best it can be. If you survive the river crossing (or are smart and use a shuttle service), you find yourself in a beautiful cove, with Macaws overhead and lizards all around. They have free use of some brand new kayaks which is a really nice bonus. The snorkel tour is great, too!

Employees were super nice and very helpful. Food was very generous and delicious. The beach at the hotel is often empty and quite beautiful and easy to swim for adults and children. The excursions like the Night walk were excellent. Wonderful place, we will definately come back!

Good food and service . The beach is sadly no good too rocky and sea dirty.

All inclusive was a must of course since other restaurants would have been too far away to walk to. All the activities are organized by the hotel, and there is a lot to do. We chose snorkeling, a day tour in the park and a night tour. We saw dolphins and a sea snake from the boat. Snorkeling was great, we saw a lot of fish, and relaxed on the beach. Day tour was awesome too. We saw a lot of animals, and the second short walk to the waterfall after lunch on the beach was well worth it. Gabriel, our guide for both tours, was very nice. The night tour is something to do once in your life, it is an experience to remember, but very spooky with all these spiders and some snakes... The hotel organizes your transportation, boat or to the plane. Keep in mind it is a wet landing, so you have to walk in the water to get out of the boat, which gives you the "Pura Vida" feeling as soon as you arrive. I would definitely recommend this hotel.

My family and I had an AMAZING time staying at Pirate Cove. Our kids are 15, 10 & 6 and they had the time of their life visiting Costa Rica! We did the tour to Sirena ranger station and the Rio claro river float and waterfalls tour. They were both unique and memorable for years to come. I wish we could have had time to do the snorkeling at Cano island( we heard that was fantastic also)-next time for sure! Our cabin overlooked the beautiful ocean and the river that you can kayak for free on using the hotels kayaks. The staff were so friendly and cheerful.The cooks at this hotel are phenomenal by the way-everything we ate was cooked perfectly and so tasty ;) You can tell they are very passionate about their service and there craft.So if you are looking for Oceanfront lodging, great food and staff & a once in a lifetime experience this is your place :) Thank You again Pirate Cove for such wonderful memories! Amazing stay at this Swiss-owned boutique, Where all our transport and tours were arranged, food was delicious and they even helped deliver my boyfriends wallet that fell under the bed when we were checking out and was forgotten. Would definitely come back here!

i was a very comfortable stay, theres a lot of things to do around the area like horseback riding, tours to corcovado, snorkeling etc. No complaints there. the town center is 10 minutes away on a very bumpy road, worth it going there to check out local establishments. that being said the food is not bad but way too expensive for what you get. That being said its convenient and probably the case for most lodges in the area (which is why its worth it to go to the town a couple times for meals).Theres a small pool which is nice to cool off in and the beach is beautiful, they have kayaks that you can use for free and take up the river which is pretty cool. its a beautiful location and the AC room is soo comfortable just to be able to get out of the heat.

Just the drive itself could be enough of a wonderful memory. Great breakfast, lunch and dinner. Rooms were clean and remained cool throughout. At times, particularly when the rains poured down it had an almost tree house effect inside.Our snorkeling trip went very well well as planned and Daniel is a natural as our dive master/guide. Isla De Caño gave us a beautiful day.The surrounding area at Pirate Cove? My wife and I both felt it the most exotic and wildest area of our month-long stay in Costa Rica. Getting to it (Drake Bahia) is a privilege, especially when going by car. Which is great to have as getting anywhere else by foot will take time.Thank you to the entirely great staff at Pirate Cove. We look forward to our return.
