This is a really nice place to get away, it’s right by the sea front. Location is fantastic. Short ten min walk to the main attractions which was perfect. There’s also a really nice sea front restaurant close by. The staff were very lovely and helpful. They responded quickly to any issues, and I even had help carrying my bags up. It was clean and tidy, minus a couple of stains on the carpet/sofa but the space was really nice. The shower was massive, plenty of mirrors in the space too. Nice modern furnishings and the WiFi was okay .. not fantastic, but I was at the top of the building and it was really windy weather

I’m mentioning this because it specifically said on the listing that there was “sound proof walls” maybe this was because of the particular room I was in, but it certainly wasn’t sound proof. There was a couple in the room next to me that felt like there were in my room. I could hear every conversation, every toilet break, and every argument (including the one they had at 1am) so I guess if you’re lucky to have extremely quiet neighbours, or a pair of earplugs you’ll be fine. The neighbours weren’t particularly loud, unfortunately the walls were just very thin. When I messaged to ask about this, a member of staff came up within 30 mins and was very nice and friendly. The other criticism is the front door. There’s broken door handles and broken windows with paper covering it up. It’s not very welcoming and for first impressions, it made me wonder if had made a mistake booking. However, after walking up to my lovely room, I soon changed my mind. I think if you fixed the the front door area, included a welcome sign, and ring the bell for assistance, it would make make better first impressions.

The room was great, except for the mirror decoration. The bed very comfortable.

More care was needed to clean up after the previous guest. No towels when I arrived.

It was good location to the town . Free parking out front if you manage to get space .

Could do with little more attention to details . Bathroom was clean but attention to details is lacking . We didn’t use draws in room as there was hairs and parts of tablets . The heating was on full in the foyer and up the stairs which was unbearable. The tv wasn’t tuned in very well . All said we slept well in the bed .

The bed was super comfortable 😌 Everything you need for a overnight stay or longer, lots to do nearby and free parking around the corner. Great for a little get away but would recommend it for families too

There was so much dirt everywhere and dust. Including the bathroom sink that was leaking from the back of the sink leaving the whole bathroom to flood. When calling for someone the calls are being declined! This hotel isn’t a hotel. It sounded like more of a brothel you’d see people just going in and out with different people and all you could hear was inappropriate noises

The location was perfect for this family break. Rooms were clean and well equipped. Having a balcony room was just what I needed.

Could use additional blankets/duvet in the rooms… Seafront view was lovely but could get very cold!! No basic breakfast facilities- not always suitable to eat in room from delivery. Probably wouldn’t be suitable for a longer stay; although local cafes and restaurants available- man/woman can not live on Carvery alone…..

Absolutely beautiful hotel, great staff who go above and beyond, stayed many times and Absolutely love it here, home from home comfy homely hotel. Actually wish I lived here.5 stars isn't enough is I could rate it a 10 I would ..never thought I'd say that about Southend but here we are. I never leave reviews either... holds a special place in me

Everything about this hotel is amazing,

The staff were amazing, nothing was too much for them, as a solo female I felt incredibly safe. The room was decorated beautifully and felt overall fairly clean. The bathroom was nice and the view was phenomenal. I will definitely be back. The room was huge and the personal balcony was gorgeous. Nice big TV and lots of teas and coffees!

The only thing that could have taken this from and 8 to a 10 was slightly more attention to detail with the cleaning - the sheets and carpet were lovely and clean as was the fridge, however the bedside draws could’ve done with once over inside and the hairdryer provided had a bit of old hair product or something on it (nothing a dettol wipe couldn’t fix) the bathroom could’ve done with slightly more attention as there was a few hairs here and there but you could tell everything had been cleaned.

The room had everything that we needed and it was a very cute and clean hotel. We were close to everything we wanted too be and the man on the reception was very attentive  and lovely, he made our stay perfect.

Very very clean. Very comfortable. Very quiet. Very very comfortable bed. Lovely location. Very private. Lovely shower. Bottled water, tea, coffee, milk and good clean working kettle provided. Noon checkout.

Just a couple of suggestions. Would have been good to have had a hand towel and a bath towel each, rather than just 2 smallish towels for 2 people. No water glasses in the bathroom. No instructions in the room re WIFI password access, TV instructions or how to access reception for all of the above when reception is closed.

Good location and friendly staff.

The room I booked was the same room we had previously stayed in, but was not the room we got. Was noisy from the bathrooms above and the front door as well as the main road. Toilet seat was broken and the shower was dirty.

I liked the location close to the seaside

There was no wardrobe, no hangers for my clothes , no desk or table, no AC , no hand towels provided. The kettle was used for warming up milk by previous guests and it was never cleaned, I couldn’t even make a cup of tea there wasn’t any spare kettle in this hotel. I couldn’t cancel at my arrival as there was no refund policy so I was stuck with the room.

Fantastic location, right on the beach. The area around the hotel is very nice, several cafes / restaurants for breakfast and dinner, off license shop about 7 min walk. There is also a very nice park with large playground nearby. The beach is not overcrowded (like other areas in Southend), very enjoyable. Our room was on the ground floor but we still could see the sea :) the room has nice furniture, fridge, bathroom has toiletries, everything looks new. Staff very nice and helpful.

No air conditioning- the fan was provided but wasn’t enough for 3 people during the heatwave..

Clean and comfortable. Excellent situation and good sea view from the window. Great one night stayover to escape from heat of London. The receptionist was very helpful in finding a place to store our bikes and carrying my bag upstairs.

A very minor complaint...but some wall hooks needed for bathroom and back of room door. Also a hand towel for bathroom should be provided.

There wasn't enough toilet paper, so we had to ask for some more. There wasn't a hairdryer in the room as standard, again we had to ask for one. There was one medium-sized towel each which simply isn't enough and again we had to ask for more. While mugs for coffee were provided there weren't any glasses provided. There was only one bedside table which was just awkward. The backs of the chairs on the balcony were broken. The balcony door has a key and a lock, but we were not able to lock the door as it was the wrong key. There was rubbish and dirty drinking glasses in the front garden that was not tidied. Overall, the place is let down by a lack of attention to detail, which is a shame because it has the makings of a great place to stay.

Clean, well maintained room. We had the family room and it was very spacious, comfy beds and pillows. Large shower room and access to the garden.
