The view from our window was amazing! It was a 10 on the scale of 1-5. The room was kind of small, it looked like the towels and such did not get resupplied before we checked in, but the view of Lake Michigan more than made up for what the room lacked.

Pleasantly surprised, especially after reading some of the reviews. Beds were comfortable, and I’m hard to please. Rooms were air conditioned, had a little fridge which cooled but didn’t get things cold, and a microwave. Tub/shower, one cup coffee maker that uses pods staff were friendly and helpful. There’s a little store with souvenirs, cups, sweaters etc.. it would be nice if they also sold suntan lotion, beach stuff. There’s a restaurant, Nolan’s, that serves lunch and dinner with buffet breakfast on the weekend. Food was mediocre, and coffee was not included in the rather expensive buffet. There’s an Olympic size pool (or a big pool) under repair that I was told would be functional by the end of September, ‘24. Beach is really close and wonderful. Even though it’s a private beach, we noticed there were a lot of people there who weren’t staying in the hotel. It would be nice if they found a way to enforce that so guests would have more access. We enjoyed ourselves and will be back.

The best thing about this hotel is the location being right next to the lake. However, the rooms are very dated and the tubs was dirty. Spiders were everywhere.

The clean beach and serene sunrises is the perk and only reason I'd stay again. The food at the restaurant was overpriced and cold. There wasn't a fan in the bathroom and wallpaper was peeling. A lot of updates are needed throughout. The one elevator was nerve-wracking and smelled funky, like motor oil and sweat. The overall cost was inexpensive and staff were friendly but the lows outweighed the good for us.

The hotel is right next to the beach, so it was easily accessible for me and my grandchildren. The beach was beautiful, very clean, wonderful spot for a vacation.

Lake front and beach were beautiful. The pool was closed renovations continued. Unfortunately the room we got through Hotels. Com gave us a view of the back of the building and construction. The lodge graciously changed or room the next day to overlook the lake.

Amazing location right on the beach. We were a little disappointed that the pool was being remodeled but are excited to come back in the future. Property was very clean and the room was nice.

The hotel is undergoing renovations and the pool was closed. It just looked outdated. We ate the the restaurant inside and took forever to get service. The room wasn’t as clean as it could be. I checked out a Day early.

Beach was private and incredible. Hard to beat that just walking out of the hotel.

My stay was amazing because of the cost with the beach. My only suggestion would be to go back and look at your website because the pictures are what attracts you. However upon arrival this change, building could be cleaned better the appearance is everything. Housekeeping should do more with a refresh request other than trash and linen but besides that after my couple trip this time next will be family. Will put this place as a return and recommend.

Fantasy location and nice staff but the so called hotel was filthy dirty everywhere and I mean it dust and garbage everywhere just terrible the pool is not open yet and who knows when the restaurant terrible food and service and odd hours and I can go on and on . Most of the guests were unpleasant surprised. The beach is good but dirty too … we stayed 3 nights and nobody was cleaning the garbage cans at the common areas and you can see dirty tablecloths sitting in the ballroom from who knows when!!!! This place calls for a sanitary inspection big time!!! So sad because has a lot of potentials and as I said the location is perfect (((

This place exceeded my expectations. The beach and water are gorgeous. The lake is a little cold but wow, is it gorgeous and clean. This hotel was perfect for our family. It was awesome to be able to bring our dogs too. It ‘s a great size and you can’t beat being right on the beach. We ate at Nolan’s twice and were very pleased with it. All of the staff were so lovely too! 10/10 would stay again! Actually, we all can’t wait to stay again! I think we found our new favorite family vacation spot!

W e came here with a group for a weekend. The rooms were clean, comfortable, and newly renovated. Location is great, you’re a short walk from your room to the beach. The downside was they had minimal staff and they don’t seem to take out the garbage on the entire premises. The whole weekend, there was piled up garbage downstairs near the patio and there was human feces on the men’s bathroom floor from at least Friday until Sunday that was not cleaned up. This place could be amazing if they put in some extra work and hired 5-10 more employees to maintain things. They are renovating the basement and we accidentally took a wrong turn down there which was slightly creepy. Overall, a great and inexpensive weekend but definitely a work in progress.

The hotel itself is fine. An old hotel that is going through renovations. It wasn’t the cleanest I’ve ever stayed but it was alright. The front desk was not helpful. I asked for new towels on our 4th day of our stay & for our garbages to be emptied, the front desk lady took down our room number & said it would be done. Came back hours later (evening time) & no clean towels or garbage emptied. I had to empty it & hunt down a room service person to give us new towels. Our fridge also stunk terribly. We couldn’t even open it because it made the whole room stink. We asked for it to be swapped & the front desk told us they couldn’t because their help had left for the day. They also wanted to charge me twice. I paid through hotels.com & the front desk kept saying I didn’t pay. Thankfully I had my receipt, & showed her - she said she would let her boss know. Then she called me the next day after I checked out saying the same thing, that I needed to pay. I literally just showed her yesterday… I emailed my receipt & didn’t get charged thankfully. I understand things happen in the system, but there was just too much of “yes, we’ll do that” & take our room number & nothing would get followed through on. Other than that, it was very nice to be on the beautiful beach.

This hotel is not the cleanest. There were spider webs everywhere. I random sock under the stairs downstairs. The bathrooms outside of the rooms had no toilet paper. We had to ask for towels. There were ants in the rooms. They turned off our room keys before checkout time. There was no service to the room at all while we were there. There was trash stacked up in places and we had to take it out of the room because there was no service to the room. The grounds were not kept well. The staff were very friendly though. Renita did well. He view was beautiful. I was worried about my safety as there was this weird guy roaming the hotel.

Had a wonderful time. Ate at the restaurant there and the food was great!! Our rooms were clean and comfy. They are in the process of upgrading and it will be even more awesome. It was my 14 yo grandson and myself and we will be back!!

The staff were awesome, but property is in the middle of a remodel, and it felt like both of our rooms were only half done. We have come to rely on refrigerators and microwaves in our hotel room, and not having either of them in either of our rooms - which were in opposite wings of the hotel - was disappointing.

We stayed at Illinois Beach Hotel for a rather long stay, 10 days.. we did enjoy our view of the lake and they did accommodate us to switch rooms so we could enjoy the view. The breakfast bar that was available in the mornings was a little inconsistent with the breakfast items. The staff also did not ask or provide us with new towels or toilet paper until we tracked someone down and asked.
