I was somewhat dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The property was not very clean. There were dust bunnies in the closet and there was dirt in the tracks for the windows, and to top it off, there was an envelope for a tip for whoever cleans the property. I found that very ironic, since the property wasn't really clean. Additionally, the outside lights that lite the stairs up to the property were on a motion detector and the lights didn't stay on nearly long enough and the area that the sensor could detect was very limited. My father is on a walker and needs assistance with stairs. My wife had to stand at the top of the steps and wave her arms to turn the light back on so we could see. When we arrived the code that I received didn't work which was a bit of a hassle trying to get in touch with someone. When I was on the phone trying to get assistance with the door code, I keyed the numbers in and the gentlemen told I couldn't possibly have keyed 10 numbers in the time I told him I keyed it.

The views are just spectacular and there are some really neat touches, such as the carved fireplace mantle. The outside screened porch is awesome, though it was too cold to use during our visit. The provided corn hole game was a great idea! However, there were several small issues: peeling wallpaper, the club chair in the living room is very wobbly, the instructions for the hot tub cover are out of date as the "bar" referenced hasn't been attached to the tub for some time,(it is just hanging there) and there is no "shelf". The tub cover smells of mildew, which could be addressed with some Lysol (we have a tub at home and have the same issue). The rain gutters are packed with debris. While we were there, the fireplace stopped working. Georgia Mountain Rentals addressed this by providing a space heater, which was much appreciated. Does the door code have to be 10 digits long?We recommend Clyde's Table and Tavern in Cleveland as well as Nacoochee Village Tavern & Pizzeria.Overall, a great stay and we would consider this cabin again. Thank you!

Only issue was the streaming services they said were available had been logged into by a prior guest, so we were limited to Hulu only. Normally, this wouldn’t be worth mentioning, but it rained our entire stay, and we had a 7 y/o to keep busy. Also the cover to the hot tub is in need of replacement. The plastic under side of the cover was flaking off into the tub and it took two people to cover/uncover. Those are the only complaints we had. Otherwise, it’s a Lovely cabin that’s nestled just far enough outside of Helen. Convenient to town, but nice and quiet. Would book again.

North Georgia Roots is a comfortable, clean getaway which is secluded, but not far away from stores and attractions. The home itself is well-maintained with nice amenities. The guidebook is great for not only local fare, but also items in the home that might need instructions. Out in nature, but paved throughout made the drive easy. If you're looking for a quiet spot that still has access to shops and sites...this is the place.
