The service and the staff were great! Never an issue with them they’re always friendly and helpful. Maintenance guy is also really cool and kind. Main issue was with room 320, the main door definitely needs to be fixed. It gets stuck from the outside and very difficult to open. Didn’t even want to leave my room so as to not deal with it. The bathroom sink had issues with hot water and took several minutes to get the least bit warm. Never had an issue with hot water in other rooms I’ve stayed in. The bathroom was also missing a hair dryer which was disappointing. Maintenance guy was super awesome tho and came to bring me one which was cool. However, due to the inconveniences of the room, I wouldn’t recommend room 320. If you get that room, switch it asap trust me. Overall I would still recommend this hotel, it’s affordable and is usually a great stay for the price. Room 320 was just not comfortable. I don’t blame the staff as they probably weren’t aware and ultimately it’s management’s job to ensure the rooms are ready to go. Hopefully next time those issues are resolved. Huge thank you again to the front desk person and the maintenance staff.

Our room was right over a McDonald’s drive through, loud all night, lots of traffic, close to freeway, pillows were hard, lumpy, and overstuffed!
But the staff was wonderful and so helpful and accommodating!

My friend and I stayed at the Governor s Inn Hotel. We were very happy with our accommodations. The room was clean, beds comfortable and the breakfast had a variety of options to choose from.
What truly made our stay was the wonderful customer service. The staff were so friendly and it was obvious they liked their jobs! A+ for their attitudes! Thank you!

We stayed for the Golden sky festival. It was perfect. Within walking distance. Jolene at the front desk was amazing. Made the check-in and check-out seamless. The entire experience was awesome. Thanks for a great stay.

Place is clean and well suited for my needs. Two complaints are that the water pressure is terrible, like absolutely terrible. And I wish there would’ve been a microwave but I made due. Clean bedding, quiet rooms, comfy beds, clean floors and amenities.

I would like to give Governors Inn high overall marks but unfortunately the ridiculously poor wifi connectivity prevents that.
Wifi would not connect to my devices (phone and tablet) inside my room. Had to take them out into the hallway to establish connection. And once connection was successful, it would repeatedly drop without warning and once again, would have to step outside the room to reconnect.
There is much to appreciate about Governors Inn. I found the room clean, comfortable, and well maintained. Breakfast options were plentiful.
But the wifi connectivity is so absurdly weak it is an absolute deal breaker in recommending the facility as a place to stay.

Very convenient to "K" street and "Old Sac". Reasonably priced, clean. Denny's across the street, McDonalds next door (do not stay in a room overlooking McD's drive through). Some homeless around but good security in their parking area. We will stay again.

The reservation was easy through Hotels.com, and the hotel and room met my expectations from what I read about it in other reviews. The staff was friendly. Overall satisfied and would stay here again! The hotel seemed older, but well kept and clean. Breakfast was ready and fresh. Coffee was good. Room was comfortable.

The lady who maintains the breakfast room was super friendly and helpful. The room was clean and comfortable. There was an almost too strong odor of a cleaning product in the hallways.

Customer service there is always top notch and the rooms are so clean and awesome whenever we book with them. They're also in a really safe spot with the police station less than a mile away. The only thing I would say is sometimes the beds are a little on the hard side, but they weren't so hard we couldn't sleep. We stay there every time we go to the Golden 1 Center and never regret it.

The hotel was very clean. Housekeeping, the shuttle drivers, and the lady who works in the breakfast room were exceptional. There were three front desk employees that I encountered. The guy that I checked in with was polite. The guy I talked to on the second day seemed like he didn’t want to be there. It seemed like he thought I was crazy when I told him that the third floor smelled like Italian food. The lady that I checked out with seemed nice at first but talked to me like I was a child in regards to the shuttle. Governor’s Inn Hotel was very nice but the area around it, not so much.

The friendly desk attendant, spacious room and comfortable bed were all pluses. But the gem of a breakfast hostess made our day with her joyful, hospitable service. There are saints among us.

Awesome customer service! They picked me up from Amtrak and even dropped me off at the airport earlier than their regular shuttle service times.

We booked 6 rooms for an overnight business trip. The rooms are clean and spacious and breakfast was a good selection. We received excellent customer service. A special nod to the lady working as attendant in the breakfast room. I didn't catch her name but she was so sweet.

Friendly atmosphere especially the lady that keeps the breakfast stocked. They had more breakfast choices than other hotels I’ve stayed at. Liked there was a couple vending machines on every floor and a lounge area.

This was a great spot to relax and put your feet up after a long day of checking out the city. The lady that helped out in the breakfast area was the best . So helpful and sweet. When we visit again we definitely will be checking in here. Thanks for the experience.

This may not be a “high class” neighbourhood or hotel but this aging gem is still maintained in good shape. Clean and comfortable with a great breakfast and friendly staff. Centralized location and easy highway access. Their airport shuttle does not run at night but hardly a drawback. Thank you, Governor’s Inn. I’ll be back the next trip to Sacramento.

1st time in LA and wanted a 'retro-style' hotel. This fits the bill! Within walking distance of our appointment; friendly front desk; easy access on/off I-5; newly-renovated rooms (street-level area under last phases of renovation). Elevator is 'European size,' but not a problem. Quiet neighbornood, close to UCLA. Highly recommend!

The room was spacious and comfortable. The king sized bed was roomy and soft. The pillows were too soft and an option of harder pillows should be available. The floor in the shower needed to be scrubbed and cleaned much more. The area around the hotel appeared run down with many homeless and liter present. We enjoyed much of our stay but a perfect experience is possible with just a few improvements.

We have made it our place to stay whenever we are in Sacramento for events. It is very clean, well maintained, friendly staff, walking distance to Denny's and McDonalds, easy access to I5 and many more conveniences.

Perfect pit stop for staying in and around Sacramento. Continental breakfast exceeded our expectations. Transport to airport was very nice. All staff were super friendly and helpful.
