Walkable to stores, restaurants and Old Fisherman’s wharf. Entry light switch didn’t work making night entry a bit tough. Clean, simple, basic, hotel for the price. Alex at the front desk was pleasant and helpful.

The room was super clean, the towels were big and fluffy, and the property was safe and well-lit. My door was really sticky though, and I had to use my body weight to open the door. It didn't bother me enough to say anything, and I'm sure if I did staff would have addressed it right away. Everyone was so friendly and helpful, they even let me check in early since there was a room available! The hotel is close enough to the convention center that you can walk, and the streets are well-lit with great shops and restaurants open late!

This was a great hotel overall. The room was clean and the bed was comfortable. The hotel is on a great location a lot of restaurants and activities to do near by. Will definitely stay here again!

A fantastic motel just a 10 minute walk from the heart of fishermans wharf. From what we saw this is the best located motel. A super comfortable bed and spacious room. We couldnt have needed anything else for our 2 night stay in Monterey - highly recommend!

We all stayed here for a wedding. Great location! Walked to the wedding and many other locations. Hotel is older, but clean.
Enjoyed dinner at the Estevan across the street. Enjoyed Fieldwork and Alvarado Breweries in walking distance.

The door to the room was very hard to open and there was a leak in the bathroom.
There were noises all night from the street by cars, and people screaming.

Clean bathroom and very comfortable beds convenient for downtown Monterey and buses to Carmel and airport. It would have been nice to have tea making facilities in the room and a back up generator for when there is a power cut.
Very friendly, helpful staff on reception and good value for money.

Good hotel. conveniently allocated in the downtown, not far from the pier. All amenities were in working condition. They even have a swimming pool. Nice and clean property. The only negative I can thing of was a bright street light at night, which we couldn't completely shield.

We loved staying at the Stevenson. It was way beyond my expectations. The room was clean and spacious and the staff was absolutely wonderful. Our room opened up to the pool and even though it was small it was perfect and very clean with tables and chairs and lounge chairs.I appreciated having coffee in the morning in the lobby and the creamers to go with it. All in all for the price it was absolutely absolutely wonderful and I couldn’t recommend it any better if I tried. We will definitely be going back in November for my birthday.

The management and staff are nicer than any place I have stayed!!! The location cannot be beat--right in the heart of downtown Monterey. Easy walk to everything. Great views from the 3rd floor.

An older property, clean and well maintained, a short walk away from shops and restaurants on Alvarado Street, and a very manageable walk to the Wharf (~15 mins). 24-hour desk. Only downside is traffic noise, but at least during the week, it dies down after 10:00 p.m. and doesn't start up until about 7:30 a.m. Would happily stay there again. Elevator works, so recommend a room on 3rd floor (top).

Stayed 4 days to celebrate our anniversary. Great location in downtown Monterrey with lots of shops and restaurants within walking distance. Friendly staff. They gave us a great rundown of everything happening that week. For the price and location it was well worth it. It’s not the newest hotel but it’s well kept. Read some complaints about parking but we never had a problem, plenty of space in the parking garage below. Will definitely be back.

Really enjoyed our stay. It's an older property but clean and close to the Wharf, shopping and dining. Staff was wonderful! Kind, helpful and very attentive. Parking a large vehicle is not easy in their garage (very limited parking above ground). We have a tall pickup and had to park underground and the clearance was literally ½ inch from the roof. I needed assistance in backing out of the garage for clearance and a staff member, Amal, stopped what he was doing and guided me through the I-beams and low hanging conduit. He was awesome! Would stay again, just drive a smaller vehicle. Ha!

The hotel was a little run down. I booked on line and it had a good rating and reviews, but the area was a little 😖. It’s right by a gas station that has some people sleeping or hanging around asking for money. On the plus side the price was great for Monterey!

A well maintained property. Sound travels through the walls, and the thermostat didn’t allow me to run the fan as a white noise to block out the plumbing, voices, walking, BIRDS, and traffic. The sound wasn’t loud, but it was always there. The bed and pillows at the Best Western (Santa Maria) were better.

It was very good for the price. The location was perfect, walkable distance to the Golden State theater, the beach, Fishermen’s Wharf, and trolley to Cannery Row.
