This was more for location than anything else and for us it was good in terms of that. Kassel itself is lovely with plenty on offer. The hotel felt as though it was embarking on, or in need of an update. It was clean, as you’d expect, but felt tired somewhat. On reflection we chose the Wyndham name, and while we didn’t have any issues we did see a number of better options in the area.

Poor service. Room and buildings need renovation.

We arrived middle of the night for a transient stay. One of the room has no light in the shower and i was told they have nothing they could do since no one can fix it at that time. They offered us 1 room on separate floor. I did not take it as it will be our kids room. Opted to stay in the same room and use the main room lamp to light up the bathroom. Hours later, they offered us to move to the business rooms. It was a nice gesture but to stay for 1night, with few hours left, not so reasonable to transfer and we were all tired already. Breakfast was OK.

When checking in after 15:00, the cleaning of the room was still ongoing, so we had to wait further. There dermed to be no coordination between reception and cleaning personnel. There was pictures of a swimming pool when selecting the hotel, but when checking in we were informed that the pool had been closed in 2022. False marketing as we selected the hotel over other hotels because of the pool only to find out this was not part of the stay.

Nice big rooms, really good beds, order twin beds and got it. Other hotels forget that and give a double bed instead. NOt a single smile when checking in. Doesn't make you feel that welcome. Booked 2 rooms in 1 reservation, apparently that goes in as 2 bookings, when different names has to be used on the same reservation. Seemed like a big problem for service person... Nice breakfast.

Rooms were fine and bed was comfortable. I was on 6th floor and had no Wifi signal or water in the shower. Not sure if this was just for the top floor.

The breakfast buffet was great. Although a bit dated, the interior decor was quite nice. We didn’t like the ground floor/parking lot level rooms they gave us. The hotel location was convenient for us and easy to find.

All was ok

Stayed overnight with family of 4 (2 children aged 8 and 5), primarily for accommodation on the drive back from a trip to the French Alps. Easy booking through Expedia, it was super cheap at €102.85, excluding breakfast. The best thing about the hotel is the clear pricing and its close proximity to Autobahn A7. 4/5 stars from us. The hotel met our needs at a very attractive price for 4 people.

The staff were excellent marks on the walls and bathrooms a bit shabby Expedia photos look waaaay nicer

I travel to Kassel for business every three months. I always stay at Wyndham as location is convenient for me. I usually enjoy my stay. This time, my room was poorly cleaned and had plenty of hairs on bathroom floor and on the bed throw. I asked for a new room which was alright, but there was no hand soap on the wall and every time I had to wash hands, I had to get liquid soap by getting inside the bathtub to reach the available wall mounted soap…On the positive side, the rooms are very comfortable.

First, I would like to compliment A. Marshall, she went above and beyond, to make my trip flawless and safe. She greeted me every evening when she was on duty, with a warm hello and big smile, upon my return. She assisted me with taxis and train travel, made my trip hassle free, she spoke perfect English & German. She is GREAT AT HER JOB, i wish her the best in life.

Worst place ever and the service was terrible!!! Do not stay there!! The rooms and the pictures are 2 different things, this hotel and the smell of cigarette in the room will take you back to the 90s!!

Very noisy rooms. Could hear every single step in the hallway, even my neighbor when he went to toilet and coughing. If you get a room with the road outside, good luck sleeping. Have never been in such non-isolated room as this. They charged me with some energy cost due to checkout but wonder for what?! I came late that night and just had the lights on half an hour. The worst thing was to take a freezing cold shower in the morning because there wasn’t warm water, still they had me pay some euros for energy cost? I had another guest behind me during checkout who also wasn’t happy about showering in cold water. And the receptionist couldn’t even say sorry or anything. Can’t understand this is 4 stars hotel when the person in the reception couldn’t even give me basic info like when breakfast starts etc. Would never recommend this hotel to anybody.

The car park was on site secure We had travelled a long way and chosen this hotel for on site restaurant and bar, both were closed.

When I booked my stay in Feb. 2022 it was to use the pool as a mid-way break during my long trip to Germany. When I arrived, I was told that in March 2022 they closed the pool permanently. The point of my stay was now gone. The cost of the taxi from the Hauptbanhof to this hotel is 22.5 Euros, and it was a waste of my day, completely, before seeing Documenta downtown. Unfortunately, the bar and hotel restaurant are also closed. There is a vending machine if you want to buy wine or beer. The restaurant across the street was nice, with a huge outdoor patio, but painfully slow service. The staff at the hotel are nice however and the room really clean and fresh (white walls). There is no AC in the room but they provided a fan because it was a super hot day.

Very poor service at check in.

I stayed at Wyndham Garden Kassel during a business trip. The hotel seems to be older, but you can tell the staff is doing their best to keep it clean. The furniture is old and the beds are not the most comfortable, but room service cared about making it nice each day. The check in process was simple and the employee was friendly and helpful. The room doesn't have many outlets to charge your decvices, and actually none are located next to the bed. But for a short stay (3 nights for me) it was manageable. I didn't book breakfast at the hotel, however there is a grocery store right across the street with a bakery in the front that also sells fresh coffee. For dinner we went to Cafe Del Sol, which is also across the street, (2min walk from the hotel). This restaurant has great food, friendly service and a nice interior decor. It kind of upgraded the stay at the hotel. The location is easy to get to from the freeway and I will stay there again.

The room was so cold I had a Dream that I had to chop my arm Off because it fell out of my duvet. I was freezing all night and sleept with clothes on.

We just stayed there for one night on our way back to Denmark. The hotel was very closed to the highway and that was really good, and there was restaurant around the place. Though the hotel needs maybe a renovation because it looked not so cleaned with those carpets. But though it was okay if it was only for one night stay. We will surely use the hotel again for sleeping if we drive again to the south.

Decent large hotel in Kassel. Conveniently located just off the autobahn with a fuel station and restaurants across the road. The hotel reception is nice. Room was clean and comfortable but looks dated now. Free bottle of water in the room was a nice touch. We stayed in August when it was 34 degrees outside and the biggest let down was the air con which was like something from 1990 and is hidden on the wall behind curtain. There is a large car park but annoyingly there is a charge per night, seems stupid when you can park on the surrounding roads for free. We parked a large vehicle and trailer on the road just outside the hotel for free so don't waste your money on parking.

Hotel was adequate. The curtains needed washing and the wallpaper was very dated but had just been painted over. The aircond units were really old but they sort of worked ok. We asked for adjoining rooms and the staff said they had accommodated the request, except our rooms were not adjoining to one another but someone elses - lol!! The reception staff seemed very unfamiliar with their own hotel layout. The wi-fi was unreliable and ran out at midnight so we had to keep asking for a new code. We had to pay extra for parking which was disappointing for a 4 star hotel. The best and most helpful members of staff were the restaurant staff, i.e. the waitress and the chef and the food was nice. Breakfast was expensive but there is a service station across the road with a cafe and sandwich bar, serving nice breakfasts at half the price. The hotel is set in a pretty and quiet residential location, not too far from the city centre. As long as your room overlooks the car park it was quite but there is a main highway on the other side, which could be noisy. The pool and sauna were clean and well maintained.
