REMODELING
The place looked closed when we drove up!
The area was marked with 8 1/2 x 11 pieces of paper with arrows to follow to the registration desk!?
The office was in a converted motel room and makeshift would be an exaggeration.
The room was way overpriced for the conditions!

While the Comfort in is going thru renovations. The rooms are clean and we were not at all affected by the construction. Yes the staff are located in a hotel rooom but they were very friendly and helpful. It is a 4 minute drive to the pier and easy to get in and out of. Would stay there again.

The hotel was under construction, the hallways were extremely hot and humid. We had to walk through the building to find a small room where the registration desk was. We were offered a sack breakfast or Wienerschnitzel coupons for breakfast. The first day we got the sack breakfast, the breakfast sandwiches were nasty. The second day, we just asked for an apple granola bar and apple juice. When we were leaving, we packed all of our stuff up on a cart and the elevators wouldn’t work. We had to make several trips which were hard on my husband because he is Handicapped. I recommended this hotel to my daughter and to my friends who were coming for my daughters wedding. All of us were disappointed, and frankly, I was embarrassed for recommending it.

The hotel was comfortable and clean. The staff is very friendly and helpful. It is on a busy intersection and right next to the 101 freeway and there is a car wash across the street which is pretty noisy during operating hours the noise dies down after 10 o’clock their lobby is undergoing renovation and my room was directly above the lobby so at 8 o’clock in the morning it got a little noisy, but I had to go to work anyway so no big deal.

Staff at check in was awesome. They are undergoing renovations to the entire hotel. Our room newly renovated and nice. Renovation work starts at 8 am so you might hear some noise. Didn’t bother us. Breakfast options due to renovation aren’t that good. Grab and go bag or Wienerschnitzels. We enjoyed Black Bear down the way and HIGHLY recommend Arts restaurant for breakfast. Pancakes were amazing. Good to see hotel was making updates to rooms. Great stay overall

Bait and switch. They posted pics of the upcoming remodel as if it was done already. Humid, wet and old cigarette smoke describes the room. Breakfast was a joke. All misleading.

Parking was terrible. One way in. Not nearly enough spaces. Totally unacceptable. Breakfast was in a bag or a voucher to a fastfood resturant down the street. Totally unacceptable

Sinks backed up as soon as we used it. Someone came with a plunger to fix it. Then both sinks backed up and the smell was horrible. The smell in the room was musty.

I booked two rooms at the last minute via Expedia, or so I thought! Expedia gave me the rates and availability for the next night, NOT the night I requested! After confirming and paying the non-refundable payment (thinking I was booking for the night I reserved), and driving to the Comfort Inn and Suites Ventura shortly after, they informed me I didn’t have a reservation until the following night and they had no availibility for the night I requested. I called and asked Expedia to cancel the reservation and refund the money. They told me they could only do that if Comfort would allow the refund. Given the circumstances I figured there should be a little grace. I’ve had other non-refundable payments in the past, happily refunded by the hotel without an issue. Comfort Inn and Suites Ventura would not.

We have no complaints except we didn’t realize there wasn’t a pool. It was close to the ocean and there were lots of food places near by. There’s only one way in and out, which are the front doors, so I felt safe. I was pleasantly surprised with the breakfast options.

The staff was some of the most friendly I’ve ever experienced and extremely helpful. Jasmine at the front desk is so full of smiles when she greet you you can’t help but know you’re in for a great stay.

Hotel was perfect for what we needed which was close to the beach. All staff very friendly and helpful. No pool, which was unfortunate for my kids.

Rooms were small and not well laid out. For example stayed at Holiday Inn and they had more table space for "stuff".
Hotel claimed it was remodeled but I don't think it included mattresses. They felt like they were 20 years old

It was like a prison. No outdoor sitting area, no pool. When I asked where the pool was the reception person told me in a condescending manner that if I wanted to swim I could swim in the ocean. I decided to book my at the Four Points Sheraton at the harbor. I was disappointed with Expedia as I could not get a speak to a reservation to rebook. I will never use Expedia again.

The staff were friendly and helpful. Breakfast is better than nothing. You get a choice between a go bag or a voucher to go to another place to eat. We got the go bag. The microwaved sausage biscuit was edible. We had plenty of space in the room and the room was reasonably quiet which was impressive since our window overlooked the freeway.

The pictures online showed two sinks—a vanity outside the bathroom so multiple people could get ready. This was not the case for our double queen. Only a couple outlets and not near the mirror.
