Nice historical hotel in the center of downtown. Getting there tired at night form the airport and trying to check in before grabbing a bite to eat was a total frustrating point. The area around the hotel has been closed off to traffic due to major renovations of the underground utilities, etc. that have been going on for over a year and look like they will take another year, this is Nov 2024. The room has nice firm beds. The noise from the construction is very audible from the jackhammers etc so definitely bring ear plugs. The front desk is not necessarily rude but a bit unmotivated. The parking staff is very nice, I tipped them 20 pesos per valet collection. The pool is not remarkable, not bad but not outstanding, has no jacuzzi.

The property listed a full size refrigerator and coffee maker in the room and there were none. When I asked about this they put a mini fridge in my room andnno coffee maker. No ice available. Staff weren't very responsive.

I am urging hotels.com to remove this property from their site. This "4-star hotel" was not acceptable at any star level or standard. The photos here are only a slice. Black mold throughout my room, dust in the room I could draw a line through with my finger. Stains on the chairs. Hair on the shower floor. Black mold on the bathmat. The HVAC unit in the room was falling from the ceiling and incredibly loud. When I went to seek another room, I was told it was the only one left in the hotel. The "airport shuttle" they promoted on their website doesn't exist. There were broken doors in the hallway and the elevator was in need of repair. Please, don't stay here.

Very old colonial hotel that smells terrible, probably due in large part to all the construction. Breakfast is a buffet and not included in room. The area around the hotel is fantastic for convenience (dining/shopping), but if I ever return to Veracruz, I would never stay here again. Bed is not comfortable, sheets not soft, but at least there was a working air conditioner in room. Service was very good as staff were helpful.

The location of this hotel is excellent. The hotel and rooms have ac. There is an attached parking garage. However, there are some definite issues with this hotel. First, we always ask at the desk the price compared to Orbitz. Most of the time Orbitz is better but it never hurts to ask. Because of this, after we book with Orbitz the hotel staff become dismissive bordering rude. We are given a room that is not as nice as indicated on the app. We have encountered rude staff on a previous stay at this hotel. We stay here because of the location to the main plaza. This time it was Cynthia at the counter who displayed such a dismissive attitude that she wouldn’t even look at me. The rooms are outdated and in desperate need of updating and deep cleaning. Too bad. This hotel could be really nice.

The hotel was clearly a beautiful and Grand hotel bit is now very very worn down and they do not seem to want to do much about it. The staff is friendly and the restaurants are superb

The location is great if you do not have a car… everything downtown is walking distance… if you have a car the hotel has a very safe parking… the rooms are very spacious

This property is right in the middle of everything.

The owners are not putting anything back into the hotel I have been staying there at least once a year for nine years and it keeps going down. They have come to the point they have house cleaning refill bottles of shampoo, conditioner, lotion you don’t know what you’re using tell you smell then you hope you’re rubbing lotion on your body not shampoo. This is a beautiful hotel it’s sad to see it decay. One more thing it’s not elderly friendly, the showers are hard to get into and literally the shower handled to turn the water on came off, and I almost fell

This hotel's charm is its history and is understandably old. It has a great location and many dining options as well. Also, it has AC which is definitely needed in Veracruz. The hotel needs some updating. The AC vents had tons of dust, shower was completely clogged, and the sheets were stained.

Beautiful clean place. Big rooms with plenty of space, good service, beautiful pool. Only “complaint” Rooms are a little dark, and beds are very very hard.

This is an average Mexican hotel. It looks like it used to be excellent but needs better maintenance. The first “superior” room had a shower that flooded the bathroom and could not be fixed. They didn’t offer another room until we asked. The restaurant in the hotel is below what is expected in a good hotel.
