Nice hotel within walking distance to Canterbury city centre. Polite and helpful staff.

Could do with a bit of a refresh…I imagine that might make cleaning a bit harder. Mattress comfortable, but bottom sheet much too small and kept coming untucked and rucking up underneath. The room was cold. I don’t mind, as I like a cool room to sleep but others might and I overheard a complaint about that.´Staff very good, especially Rosario, always a lovely welcome & very helpful!

The room was lovely especially the bathroom. It was exactly what I wanted after a long day of travelling. The staff where nice and easy going as well as being very informative and helpful when asking questions about the area I was in. The food was good for the price I paid and very varied. The only thing I would day is that I was not sure about the carpet in my room in terms of like if I had dirty shoes I didn't really want to leave them outside but didn't want then in the room as it would get the carpet dirty otherwise all good.

Lovely stay but all four beds in the family room were so uncomfortable, hard and lumpy. Everyone had awful sleep.

Great service from the staff.the food was excellent, only fault the hotel was a bit tired.

The staff here really are wonderful and nothing is too much trouble. I needed a room for a very private call and not only did they allow me use a room but asked did I want to move as it was noisy outside. The waiting staff and everyone are so warm and genuinely friendly. I stay in 5 star hotels for work and put this hotel up there in terms of decor in rooms, cleanliness and customer service

The room I was allocated was very dated and decor looked very tired. Room size was excellent and would stay again as it also had parking onsite - Bonus.

lovely hotel with helpful staff. A 15 minute walk to town which was great. Amazing breakfast - included everything you could think of with cooked breakfast and cold buffet. Easy parking. Although you have to ask for your room to be serviced if you needed any items like tea/coffee we just asked and it was all provided promptly. Good value. Would definitely recommend and visit again.

It’s great that you can just turn up and park immediately for free! The staff are also very friendly and welcoming. The hotel is perhaps looking a little tired, and the walk to the cathedral, at 20 minutes, is a little long. However, this is well reflected in the price which overall is very good value.

Restaurant food was good, should have a member of staff on reception when people arrive. But overall very comfortable.

If you are thinking of coming here to rest, forget about it. The hotel is very noisy, either because of the people in the pub or the people in the rooms. The room leaves a lot to be desired. The shower is blocked. Another thing that left me speechless is that you have to ask reception if you want them to come and clean your room, when I think that generally the logical thing is for them to come and do it every day. For everything else, it was good. Well located. Food was good value for money. Very attentive and polite staff.

Really friendly and helpful staff. Arrived with a bike and they had storage for it. No problem with it and went out their way to help in the morning. Fantastic carvery. Great breakfast too.

Staff has excellent customer service, the family room needs a small refrigerator and a microwave

Excellent hotel my only point is that I was on the third floor, no lift and I do not do stairs easily, getting older!!!

The Victoria Hotel, is a very friendly, comfortable hotel for a stay in Canterbury.It offers a lovely garden area , comfortable beds and great fresh breakfasts. I loved the fact it offers spacious free parking, and is only a short walk into Canterbury. It is spotlessly clean, but the decor is a little dated. I would thoroughly recommend staying there if you are visiting Canterbury.

A walk in shower would have been preferred. At my age climbing into a tub is not safe. No heat in the cold summer season. Everything else was pretty good.

Close to city center with a walkable distance.

Rooms are tired, carpet worn away

Really enjoyed the stay. Close enough to walk through the streets of Canterbury and the Cathedral. Travelling by myself I found the room was functional and comfortable. Food was great as was the service.

The staff are friendly and helpful and the food although pub-style is excellent value.

It is about 20 mins walk into city centre. The hotel does not have an elevator , so it will be challenging for those with mobility issues. Getting things requires you to go to reception. But staff and service are great.

Could not fault this hotel. The staff were amazing, they couldn’t do enough for you. We liked the very relaxed atmosphere too. The food was reasonably priced and good portions. It was very clean, we would definitely go again when in the area, as you can easily walk to the city centre and cathedral.
