I liked the hotel - it was modern and nice, staff was very professional. Our room had everything what we needed. The beds were comfortable. The breakfast were very various - even with the food limitations and alergies you can choose.

Great location, in the best neighbourhood in Madeira, one can easily walk around and find restaurants plus shops. The hotel is truly clean, the rooms are ample and have a nice terrace plus ocean views. Our flight got cancelled due to weather reasons and we go in a day late, the receptionist Roberto was truly kind and understood the situation, he spoke directly to booking for us and got them to not charge us the night we couldn't make it. The parking was free and right below the hotel which was truly comfortable and ideal. The swimming pool is very ample and truly cozy. The personnel was amicable and always willing to help and serve the client.

The buffet was a little massive and though they offered all kinds of food you could tell the quality was low, the fried eggs were made in bulk and would be brought in already cold + looking a little plasticky. The juices were very artificial and pure sugar, definitely not natural juice.

The swimming pool area was very pleasant, however we did order food that came with a side of lettuce which had clearly not been washed as it came with a worm. The staff offered a complimentary drink which was ok but for a 4 star hotel this is very poor.

The bed was absolutely terrible and the rooms a bit old looking.

The view we had on the 11th floor was amazing. The breakfast was very nice and we had a lot of options to choose from. The parking garage was very handy for us. The location was good, a lot of restaurants and shops around the hotel, the city center is a bit far by foot, but it's a nice walk.

On weekend nights we had a hard time finding a parking spot in the evening

- Location is good, public transport stops and tour bus operators right next to the entrance, motorcycle rental within a walking distance, seafront os also close enough, old town a couple of bus stops away. - Underground parking subsidised by hotel - Very spacious apartment-like room with two areas separated by sliding doors - 2 tvs and plenty of channels (english, french, german, etc) - Pool and ping-pong tables - Room was cleaned everyday - Fair breakfast on the terrace level - We had dinner once and the good was great - Terrace with a pool was cool to spend the time in, high railings concealed the fact that you are in the town

Small stuff like some unusable pool cues, unclear signs on sauna doors saying you need to pay but not clear why and how.

The sign Fourviews led us to drive around as we thought we were in the wrong place. Needs to be changed asap

nice staff and nice view from the balcony. the breakfast is very good and tasty, but almost the same every day. bus stop is near the hotel. The supermarket pingo donce us also near.

even if you live in the hotel, you have to pay entrance fee for indoor swimming pool at spa…

Easy access from the airport and for further excursions. The hotel provides a free parking. The hotel is located within walking distance from a variety of excellent restaurants. Rich and excellent breakfast. We had to leave the hotel on Sunday at 0700 before the usual opening hour of the restaurant . We asked for some coffee and instead, the restaurant was especially opened at 0600.

There was a discrepancy between the room description on the web and in reality-No slippers nor bathrobe, Daily lack of refill of sugar and tea and we had to ask for it on a daily basis

The pool area with ocean view. The amazing breakfast and the super friendly staff. Compared to another 4 star hotel I stayed nearby, this is really a 4 star one!! Good WiFi everywhere. I even worked by the pool

Spa has to be paid for unless you have a treatment. The closeness to the beach according to booking is not really a beach :)

Excellent location, friendly staff, great brakfast.

Excellent location in busy are with many restaurants and shops very close by, but inside the hotel it was very quiet, even with the window open. Breakfasts were good with plenty of variety. Outside pool was superb with steady temperature of 26C even though the weather wasn't particularly good for most of our stay it was still good to get in the pool Soundproofing of the rooms appeared to be very good. Lovely to see all the Christmas lights everywhere in Funchal, including the hotel

Very large bed, but duvet was pathetic, not really big enough to cover the bed, much less any allowance to hang over the sides. Asked reception for a larger duvet or a second one to use alongside the first (as is fairly common on the continent), but nothing happened - just ignored!

The hotel is lovely, the room is very spacious, I could enjoy the ocean view from my window. Moreover the location is very good, close to all essential places. The staff is very helpful and friendly! You feel very welcomed here!

I’ve stayed several times over a period of years but hadn’t been in around 5 years and hoped it hadn’t changed too much. Luckily it was as lovely as ever with friendly helpful staff. Breakfast was alway very good with an enormous choice available and fresh. Only stayed 3 nights coz it was fully booked but I chose to stay for the 3 nights available rather than choosing a different hotel as we also stayed with family, glad I stuck to Monumental Lido as it never disappoints :)
