The bed was terribly hard. The “restaurant” was really only open for breakfast, even though signs indicated a happy hour at the bar, and there was a menu.

We had the superior room, which is it's own little building. It was absolutely adorable and beautiful. We could not have been happier. Breakfast was very nice. The staff were very helpful. One afternoon we had no plans, and Tom provided us with great suggestions. We loved it!

I stayed at Don Taco with my two daughters for 3 nights and we really loved the vibe of the place. The layout is great with a lovely inner courtyard, a wonderful breakfast area and a nice, large balcony with rocking chairs where you can sit and enjoy the beautiful view. The staff was very friendly, helpful and made our stay at Don Taco a memorable one. If we ever come back to Monteverde, we wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again Gracias!

Not too far from MonteVerde, which was the hook for us in staying here. This place was a short walk from town (albeit a steep one) with a bunch of shops, cafes, sodas, restaurants within walking distance. The rooms had variations of balconies to sit and enjoy the outdoors. But the view is just ok and because town is just down the hill there’s lots of ruckus from motorcycles revving up and down the roads. The rooms have no AC nor a ceiling fan. We were concerned it’d be too hot at night but pleasantly surprised how nicely cool it was. Nice little on site pub, and restaurant. For what it is, we were quite content with our stay.

The staff were all wonderful and helped us so much to get a longer reservation, arrange our events and transportation, and the place is lovely especially on the Mar Inn side. There is some road noise from the back street (motorcycles, dogs) on the upper level of don Taco but the cabins at Don Taco were great as was the room at Mar Inn (the connecting hotel next door, same owner) The staff could not have been better. We hope to return.

Loved staying in a superior room, great private cabin with deck . Loved it. Slept great. The hotel & staff were wonderful. Big shout out to Tom , who was such a help to me & secured a shuttle for my trip back to San Jose. The property was lovely, & enjoyed the breakfast both days & the bar upstairs for cocktails. Would definitely return. Walked into town both days & had lunch & did a tour one day. Excellent.

We booked two rooms for our family. It was a very clean and safe resort, in a good location.

The property is located up a steep hill from the town. One should know that Monte Verde is a very hilly area and almost all of the properties are on the hill. The staff is wonderful. The property is clean and reasonably well maintained compared to other properties.

Don Taco is a nice hotel property close to Santa Elena and Monteverde. Comfortable and clean with a nice staff .

Close by walk to Santa Elena Downtown. Breakfast included.

It is in a perfect location for area attractions. Walkable to town for meals.

The hotel was comfortable and friendly. The food at the restaurant is okay but there are other options nearby if you don’t mind sharing the steep hill. No air condition but it was cool enough during the night.

We had the most amazing room with a swing and a view of the ocean far away! The staff was wonderful, courteous, friendly and professional! The location was also great: walking distance to downtown Santa Elena, and closer to the cloud forest Santa Elena than other hotels.

Room was simple but clean. Staff was very cheerful and helpful. Wifi worked great and the food was good. Would reccommend.

We stayed here for two nights. Our overall experience was good. The room had a nice view with a balcony. The bed and pillows were not very comfortable. The breakfast was okay but there were not a lot of options.

Hotel Don Taco is excellent hotel for the price in Monteverde. Walkable to marketplace, close to all parks. The staff were super friendly. The main highlight was breakfast and the view that we get from the hotel . The view is breathtaking. The breakfast is fresh and delicious with lots of options. My kids loved the two dogs they have who are super friendly. The rooms are ok type with less ameneties. When its windy, it makes lots of noise because of trees nearby.

Within walking distance to town center, this stay was ideal for our stay in Monteverde. Great views, great staff, parking and even towels for show cleaning. Highly recommended.

Hotel was very comfortable and had a nice view of Monteverde. The staff, particularly Thomas and those at breakfast, were great and they assisted us with excursions and transportation. During our stay, the wind was pretty extreme but our cabin was safe. It was also very clean and very spacious, and breakfast was good too. Would definitely stay here again.
