Good hotel, close to the beach.

Perfectly located, so close to Ipanema beach and short distance to Copacabana beach. Clean, modern, great included breakfast. Nice roofdeck with small pool and bar/restaurant…and amazing views of the beach and mountains. Lovely spot to chill in late afternoon and enjoy sunset and a cocktail. Efficient, friendly, helpful service throughout. Short walk into town for shopping, restos and farmer’s markets. Price was very reasonable. Will definitely stay there again.

We enjoyed our stay. Staff always helpful. You ca walk to Copacana Beach and also to Ipanema beach. Included Breakfast with a variety of options.

Had an awful experience with my power going out in the room. I called the front desk and they sent the maintenance person to fix it to only happen 3 more times. Got pretty frustrated as every few hours would lose power. The hotel was good other than having a room that constantly lost power and them not fixing it.

Front desk rude and absolutely no help! They do not care about their jobs.

Nice hotel in a good location, just two blockes from Ipanema beach. Especial thanks to our chambermaid, always asking if we needed anything. Good breakfast with fresh fruits and local specialities. The water was cut one day because of works. That should have been informed to everyone.

Bad breakfast, bad pillows and small beds. Drinking water was not available in the room unless you pay for it from the mini bar.

The best location!

My stay at the Arena Ipanema Hotel was okay, but it didn't feel like a 4-star experience. The staff was nice and helpful, which was a plus. However, the room left much to be desired. There was a bad sewage smell from the bathroom if the toilet wasn't flushed for over an hour. Every time we came back to the room, we had to flush to get rid of the odor. The walls were also very thin; we could hear people coughing, sneezing, talking, and snoring from all sides. Breakfast was nice enough, with some decent options available. The gym is non-existent. In the pictures, it seemed somewhat usable, but it’s literally just one machine in a small room. The pool is also a bit small. Although the views from the rooftop are really pretty, the pool itself is tiny and feels more like a water feature than something to swim in. So it is only nice if you only want a place to sunbathe. On the bright side, the location is pretty good. Even though it's not beachfront, it's very close—just a 2-3 minute walk to Ipanema Beach.

The location to the beach was very nice. The breakfast is exceptional. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The room was comfortable. We’ll stay here again.

The location was perfect-between Ipanema and Copacabana. The staff was amazing. Rooms were clean and modern and breakfast had many options. We loved our stay and would definitely recommend.

Great location between ipanema and Cocacabana, easy and safe

Very clean, well situated. The only improvement would the diversity of the restaurant (spanish cuisine). Very good but after two meals, you’ll want to try something different. That said, I would go back if given the opportunity.

Great hotel in the best location. Very friendly staff that all made an effort to look after you… rooms are small and a bit noisy but the area is worth it and it’s Rio 😉

Felt safe, very attentive staff, convenient for Ipanema & Copacobana

The shower pressure is very powerful and the bed comfortable. The view from the roof-top towards the famous mountain is blocked by a building. The terrace is sad.

The hotel is located well. Copacabana is, in my opinion, a little run down. Ipanema is not! Some great bars and restaurants close by, the metro only a 10 minute walk away. An early morning run along the beach is a must (if that’s your thing), be it to the north or the south. Would I stay again? Absolutely!

Good location in between Copacabana and Ipanema beaches - both are walkable. The room was quite small but had everything we needed. Rooftop pool has an amazing view, but the windows needed a clean. Drinks at the rooftop bar are 10/10!! Amazing service.

Excellent hotel - was staying with my partner for a few nights exploring Rio. The hotel is new / modern, the rooms are modestly sized, but clean and comfortable. Location is excellent, right on the corner between Ipanema beach and copacabana. Breakfast was substantial with plenty of options and the rooftop bar and pool were a great way to relax anytime. The staff we're super friendly and helpful. After we checked in I noticed that a lot of the gym equipment which I had hoped to use was broken / not usable so I asked to shorten my stay and was accommodated with no problems. Thank you Arena for a great stay and looking forward to staying again in future.

Really good brazilian breakfast and perfectly fine rooms! The location is the biggest advantage of this place, right by both Ipanema and Copacabana.

The location is great. The rooms have very thin walls. I could hear conversations, toilet flush, and shower as it was happening in my room. The design of the floors and rooms gave me the feeling that I am entering a container rather than a room!
