The staff were nice and the view from the room stunning!

The room seemed a little out of care, its a point to improve. The bread in the breakfast was always tooooo crusty, almost impossible to cut. Just minor details.

Location is in the middle of the little town, by the main roundabout. This is a mountain location and there is no noise at night. The room is fabulous, simple but furnished with taste, a nice curtain, red bedsheets, a spacious cupboard with a safe and a hairdryer. the bathroom is very functional. There are two good wall plugs, a little desk, a fan, a pretty curtain to the balcony which has great view into the mountains and the Gruyère Castle, a stunning view!. The breakfast is copious, tasty with fresh bakery and bread items plus the other trimmings like cheese, raw meat, yoghurts, fresh fruit etc. What was the best at this hotel? The Staff, the managers, owners, restaurant and hotel staff were courteous, helpful and very friendly. An amazing team with outstanding people skills, all of them, the kitchen and cleaning staff included. I rate their service and kindness as exceptional and extended my stay by 2 more nights. The Restaurant downstairs with its great Terrace is very well frequented by locals and other travellers, always fully occupied in the evenings. The Menu has traditional Swiss specialities, also French and international cuisine. Pizzas are amazing! I saw many people coming from outside for takeaway food. The surrounds offer many walks, tours and Alpine experiences, the Lindt chocolate factory is in this town. The Fromagerie in nearby Pringy and many more attractions. There is a fabulous Tourist information office in Charmey, a few kilometres up the road. The photo shows the illuminated Gruyère Castle seen from the room balcony

It'd have been nice to have a double bed in the room.

Breakfast was ok. Lots of flies bothering us. People were friendly. Nice terrace with good pizza.

Some of the rooms had a smoke smell. The rooms were worn out. The hotel could do with a make over.

Great location. Small spartan rooms but totally fine for a night.

pretty poor wifi (almost not working inside room all the time, only very weak connection at the corridor available), room furniture needs to be upgraded already

Unfortunately very disappointed. we showed up at the hotel at 2:45 p.m., 15 minutes before the official check-in. The lady at the front desk made us wait 15 minutes, although nothing stood in the way of us To begin check-in. We booked through booking.com, so we knew beforehand how much we would have to pay on site. The Lady has collected us 25 € more and the receipt only after the express request. The next morning when we realized it turned out that the calculation wasn't right, the lady could bring no explanation and referred us to their boss who supposed to be at the hotel around noon. We couldn't spend the day in the hotel, that's why we went to the boss in written form. At around 10 p.m. the other lady came into the room and brought us € 25. She explained the difference as the exchange rate. It seemed very strange to us. That Hotel is on a busy street. Accordingly, they are Rooms which are noisy as they have the old wooden windows. For the 4 parking spaces are reserved throughout the hotel, so you have to park somewhere else. The staff is rude. That Breakfast was very sparse. There was no choice. It is It is common nowadays to have a continental breakfast offered. And from a hotel that advises a warm kitchen, you expect bacon and scrambled eggs for breakfast, not the finished Yogurt from Aldi. There was no soap in the bathroom, but the counted mini packs of Shower gel, exactly 4 pieces for 2 people for 2 nights. Therefore was our own mini packs of face gel and cream that already started but not yet used, thrown away. That Best came at the end. We forgot a big bag with chocolate in the hotel. Unfortunately it was only noticed at home. We tried to contact the hotel, unfortunately without success. We didn't get any calls back. We have got no answers on our e-mail so far. You could be friendlier to a customer and you could take only a few minutes to answer and to help them. We are very disappointed about the Swiss hospitality!

The service and the staff were good. Nice view on Gruyere and Moleson.

The vacuum cleaner was very noisy during the breakfast on Sunday morning. The soap and shampoo were rather scarce.
