The photos of "drift south" are of a collection of units in the complex. We booked thinking we were getting a ground floor unit with direct access to the pool area. Instead, on arrival we were given a unit on the third floor with a balcony and spiral staircase to a rooftop terrace - with a toddler to keep safe, a spiral staircase and rooftop terrace made things a little challenging...but the state of the area itself left much to be desired...not to mention the broken glass we found on the rooftop terrace and the cigarette butts we found on the balcony (correction - our toddler found them!) . On reviewing the photos in the listing, photos of the unit we got do not show the spiral staircase or even mention that there were stairs at all. Photos showed a clean apartment that is well presented and maintained...not the reality - it felt overused, undercleaned, broken (literally - some furniture was broken) and like a slap in the face for $850. The white "leather" dining chairs all had a beach towel draped over them...hiding the ghastly state of the chairs themselves (aged and peeling - they went unused for our stay). Most surfaces were layered with dust and/or grime, and there were cobwebs and damage throughout. It seemed very tired and old, with no plant life, and decor needs replacing or serious deep cleaning as they are piled up with dust and stains (eg. the "feature" chair in the living room had a brown stain on it, doona's had stains on them, carpets are stained and crusty, and kitchen rangehood is so grimey i struggled to open it to use while cooking). The rooftop terrace was barely furnished - just 1 sun lounge, and 1 bar table with chairs, no shade cover, no plant life, nothing to make us think "oh great we can sit here and enjoy our dinner comfortably." We also noticed that when we turned on the fans in the bedrooms, dust from the fans flew everywhere, landing on the beds...another mess to clean up...

Gorgeous decor and furniture - very nice.

Advertised as being a bottom level apartment with pool access but was actually level 1, didn’t impact us significantly but also booked that apartment for that reason and was a little disappointed. Also understand that it is not a serviced apartment , however basic condiments would have been appreciated (ie salt/pepper). There should also be better directions as to which lift / entrance should be used to access the apartment as there was confusion and tried multiple lifts until we found the correct one (only 1 lift gets access to the apartment, however there is multiple lifts to that floor)

Location was great! Beautiful walking paths and easy access to the beach.

First of all, I was given the wrong keys to the apartment. This was a late check-in, 8:00 pm, so it was inconvenient but not as inconvenient as having to wait an hour for the correct keys to be delivered by a staff member who advised she would only be 20 minutes. I had two elderly guests and a baby with me, which I told the staff member. Again this wouldn't have been a problem if she had of communicated this with me, allowing me to go get supplies instead of waiting for an hour at the front of the complex. Further to this - there were no teaspoons, no teatowels, and no dishcloths, forcing us to use the two hand towels supplied as a dishcloth and tea towel. There was one garbage bag for a 2-night stay and the ironing board not only didn't have a cover that fitted, I found a cover in the cupboard but this was too small but seemed to be a relic from the 60's with a pin needing to be adjusted to let it up or down and we had to step on the front leg so that it didn't slide away each time pressure was placed on the board! To top everything off, we woke up in the morning after a night of rain to discover water flowing through the light fitting in the ensuite bathroom onto to the sink and floor!! For all of these inconveniences, I was offered an $80 credit and no apology except from the lovely lady who took the details of my complaint.

Apartment was spacious

Cockroach’s and spiders & bedsheets stained. The dryer stained all of our clothes and turned our white clothes grey! No sharp knives, one tea towel for a 9 day stay is not really feesible. The good things were the beds were comfy.

The two apartments we booked were nice and big.

One of the apartments we stayed at though, had mold and a hole in the ensuite bathroom roof that no body had been in to fix or clean. There were chips of paint all over the sink vanity.
