We had a wonderful time at the Barney House. It is in a great location with easy access to highways. The house accommodated our large group and was well maintained with a nice yard and patio. The hosts were great at staying in touch and responsive.

Our 2 families totaling 4 adults and 6 kids enjoyed our stay at the Barney House. This home has modern renovations in a historically classic home, great kitchen, 2 washers and dryers, dining table for ten, nice back yard for playing, grill, outdoor seating.

We loved our stay in the Barney House--I was born and raised in Rapid and have since moved away, but I bring my family to visit almost every summer. This year, we were needing a place to stay to come celebrate my mother's 90th birthday. The Barney fulfilled all of our needs; it is a beautifully restored historic property with modern amenities and lots of available sleeping arrangements. All amenities listed are accurate & in immaculate condition. The hosts have done a great job updating the property while maintaining its integrity. Communication with the hosts was seamless. Great location, close to downtown, & offers a unique way to enjoy all Rapid has to offer. Great backyard: grill, seating, yard games, etc. Thanks to the hosts for helping us discover Rapid in a new way.

This house is absolutely wonderful! The hosts were easy to work with and really helpful. The home is walking distance to all of the downtown attractions and restaurants. Registered with the Historical Society and up-to-date with modern amenities and comforts... the perfect mix!

My family loved staying at the historic Barney Home. The location is great for visiting Rapid City, the Black Hills and the Badlands. The listing is accurate and the home was clean and well maintained. Water pressure was good, beds are firm, the off street parking is excellent and we loved having the backyard and fenced patio to enjoy at the end of a busy day.
The house is spacious and we liked that the bedrooms are spread out enough we didn't feel crowded.
Communicating with Cody was very easy and he always responded quickly, including prior to our stay. Any questions or concerns we had were immediately resolved. There was a minor issue with the kitchen faucet which Cody had taken care of within 15 min of my text.
Would definitely recommend this property.

We loved the design of the house. The home was stocked very well. Great location to many great restaurants and attractions.

We had a last minute trip to see family in Rapid City. We had three generations staying at the home. The house was the perfect size for our group and provided a nice gathering space for our other family members to visit for lunch, dinner and just hanging out to catch up. The kids were entertained with the games and foosball. The mudroom worked out great considering it snowed the first two days. It was just what we needed.

What a beautiful home. I would use the words, spacious, comfortable, and yet it felt modern. As a builder, I know how hard it is to make an older home look good.

This was a oleasant surprise. Property is newly done and jas everything you need for a large group with kids. Cody also made sure there were board games etc for kids and adults. Location was perfect woth walking distance to Starbucks, Walgreens etc. Most of the main attractions are within 15 to 20 mins drive.
Cody was very responsive and made sure we got everything we need as we were travelling with kids. Will highly recommend the Barney House.

Cute, well maintained home. No major issues and great communication from the host, Cody. Convenient location as well. Tips for guests: bring toilet paper and if planning to sleep on couches, they aren’t great for that. We had 16 total people (7 kids) so we knew we wouldn’t have enough bed space so we brought air mats for 2 of them and 2 slept on the couches but they just weren’t ideal for that. Beds aren’t super comfortable (memory foam I think but quite firm) but did the job. Bring your own pillows if you don’t like fluffy pillows. Overall it was a great home with modern decor mixed with classic and the water heater accommodated the many showers we’d all take in the evenings! I would recommend this home for your adventurous trip to Rapid City and the Black Hills!

This house worked great for our family. My sister's family and my family needed a place to stay for a week to explore the great sights of South Dakota. There were plenty of beds for everyone (10 of us). Our bed mattress was great. We did a lot of cooking so the kitchen was appreciated. The location was great since we did day trips all in different directions (Devil's tower in Wyoming, Badlands, Wind Cave National Park, Custer State Park). It was nice for us coming back every evening to a place that felt like home. We enjoyed the large table and took advantage by playing games every evening. Cody was great and I appreciated his quick responses.

this property was easy to find with great parking in a nice quiet neighborhood. our family gathered from california, colorado and texas and we had a great time. the house has so much character and room and all of the beds were superb. the kitchen and bathrooms were well stocked and everything was sparkling clean. we will surely try to stay here when we make another trek this way!
