A beautiful place to get away ,relax and enjoy nature

Our stay at Black Cabin was great! It’s in a very quiet location and has an awesome back deck and fire pit. We really appreciated all of the amenities that Eddi included; we had everything we needed. If you’re looking for a hotel room this may not be the right choice for you. But if you’re looking for a quiet cabin like location that is close to all Valparaiso has to offer, I think you’d like this spot as much as we did. Eddi was a great host and easy to communicate with.

The location is perfect for our travel needs. We enjoyed the nearby Dunes and spent a day up in Chicago-land. We enjoyed relaxing on the deck at the end of the day.

Great place that feels deep in the woods but is only minutes from town.

The place was very clean. It was a short drive to the beach and several restaurants. We loved having a fenced in yard for our dog.

We loved the Cabin on Flint Lake! Beds were comfy and very clean. No weird or musty smells. The kitchen was STOCKED! We had several people over throughout the week for a meal, and the kitchen was even better than expected. All appliances worked great. There was even an air fryer! Property owner provided everything you might need - laundry detergent, dish soap, shampoo, paper towels, utensils, spices, etc. Water pressure was excellent. A couple of reasons for 4 instead of 5 stars. Not the property owner's fault, but the road out to the cabin is TERRIBLE. If you're not used to Flint Lake roads, prepare yourself, A lot of potholes, and it can be precarious getting out onto the main road. Also, not a big deal, but we did not enjoy having to watch a YouTube video in order to be able to know how to work the door lock. Also had difficulty using the TV. The tech guy did come out to help us find the local channels, but we were only able to get them for about 30 minutes. I guess most people use their Netflix account out there, but we don't have one. All in all, excellent experience and would stay there again.

I loved my stay! A friend and I took a long weekend to visit the Dunes, Chicago, and celebrate a Birthday. We enjoyed the proximity to everything and watching the birds in the backyard. I would love to stay again. It was so peaceful!

We love this cabin. It was very welcoming and clean. It was so peaceful sitting in the beautiful yard. The location is convenient to stores and sites but truly feels like being away from it all. The host answered questions right away. Highly recommended!

Cozy, wooded area of a pretty busy town. Convenient location. Very quiet neighborhood.

This is such a cute cottage in the woods! We had a great time enjoying the peaceful surroundings, nightly firefly’s, deer, rabbits and songbirds. Updated throughout with such cute and trendy decor and the coffee supply in the fully equipped kitchen was much appreciated. Our welcome snacks and wine were such a great treat after a long day of travel and brought a smile to all our faces. We will certainly rent again on our trips back to Indiana Dunes area!

Had a wonderful stau and cabin is beautiful! Everything you need is there! Valpraiso is an adorable town.

We experienced a difficult check at 4:00pm as the cabin had not been cleaned from the previous guest. That was a pain in the a$$ but the owner was communicative and eventually fixed the issue. He made it right and by the following day we were able to relax and enjoy the quiet. The kitchen was very nicely appointed, so it’s a great place for those who like to cook. Even the knife was sharp.

Easy access to both Chesterton and Valpraiso.

We really enjoyed this house and it fit our needs well for the weekend we were there. The back yard was particularly nice to play in with kids and enjoy the weather. We liked the location, tucked away near the lake. The property manager had provided complimentary snacks and all the necessary appliances and needs we would have.
