I spent three days at the Sefton. Slept like a log each night, had very good breakfasts and met so kind personnel. I hope to be back very soon.

We had a wonderful time. All of the staff were so helpful and made sure our stay was out of this world. Yes the hotel needs some updating but they are starting to update the rooms 1 by 1. The swimming pool is in need of some tlc and we could not use the sauna or jacuzzi as they were locked and were not accessible. However the food was to die for and as I said the service was amazing and made up for the small downsides. Overall had a really good girly week away with my friend.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in one of the Atrium rooms, it was great to have the balcony in such a lovely atmosphere. It was a bonus to have a very quiet fridge in the room with complimentary bottles of water. The Encore was a lovely bar and the food in the Bonsai was amazing, the best meal out ever for a vegetarian.

Excellent weeks stay . Good breakfast and lovely staff. All clean and tidy but don’t expect it to be brand new . It’s a vintage building with lots of quirks. Would recommend.

Great location, hotel itself is a bit dated but clean. The room I stayed in was very hot and no temperature controls to change inside the room. Breakfast was good and staff friendly! Would stay again for business.

The Atrium area was a bit shabby, and the bedrooms in this area though spacious were not functioning well. We had problems with hot water at peak times. However the location was perfect. There was a bus stop outside the Sefton, and some good restaurants within walking distance.

Great location, lovely view of the beach and everything within walking distance. Staff and service was absolutely 5* they were really friendly and helpful. For example We asked for advice on getting to the airport on checkout day they helped with route maps and even provided a packed lunch for us to take on the journey since we were out early. On one day there was a fire alarm and the staff were quick to act and so professional making everyone comfortable whilst the issue was resolved. We also enjoyed the breakfasts every morning. Rooms were nice but showed signs of age and some furnishings like chairs were stained. The building as a whole probably requires updating/refurb for example in the pool there was significant rusting on mirrors etc but this did not take away from the stay and we would come back again.

We area well travelled couple and whilst not being 5 star it makes up for it in so many other ways. Makes for a good hotel accommodation in Douglas.

The Sefton looks wonderful from the outside and is quirky inside. There is a shortage of staff so your room is only serviced on the third full day of your stay and you have to hang a sign on your door or this won't happen at all, however you can ask at reception for fresh towels, tea, coffee etc. The interior of the hotel is dated and repairs are needed. Our bathroom on the 4th floor smelt terrible due to the drains and we were advised to keep our taps running which did help to alleviate the odour. The atrium is a nice feature although you can see into everyone's room from the balcony and conversations echo which make it quite noisy at times. There is no air conditioning and it is very hot and stuffy on the 4th floor, just like being in an airless conservatory. We found a fan in the room which we had on max speed the whole time. The swimming pool is strange, it has sloping edges on every side so not much room or depth to swim without banging your kneees and the changing rooms smell of very bad drains. Everything you need is to hand

Lovely hotel if somewhat outdated. The staff were all very polite and helpful. Unfortunately the atrium area was quite dirty with dead leaves on most of the higher surfaces and some of the metal supports in definite need of a clean. Overall though a nice place to stay in a very good location.

Staff are helpful and friendly, the hotel is in an excellent location,it is dated but this adds to the ambience, breakfast was excellent with lovely views over the bay.

Staff and especially reception were amazing. Breakfast one of the best we've had. Kippers amazing. My mistake, i booked the wrong standard room and really wanted the garden view which looked better than the wall we faced. Apart from this minor error of mine, couldnt fault the place. Already looking at booking to go back.
