Although the resort is gorgeous, our casita (no. 5) was a dump. It was dirty and run-down, and it smelled like sewage. There was thick dust on the front of the bathroom cabinet and debris on the side. The furniture, doors, and walls were beat up throughout the room.
I booked a casita to enjoy the sunset on the patio, but the door to the patio was broken, and the patio chairs were situated next to a noisy outdoor fan surrounded by an ugly rusty enclosure.
Unfortunately, we didn't notice these defects until after having an early Thanksgiving buffet (disappointing) and then using the heated pool, which was the best part of the stay. By the time we went to shower and change, we were too tired to ask to change rooms, especially because we were only there one night.
When we checked out, we told the woman at the front desk about all of the shortcomings and complained it wasn't worth the roughly $400 price tag. She said there wasn't much she could do since we paid in advance but offered to take $20 off the previous night's bar bill -- what a slap in the face! My husband complained, so she also took off the $40 "resort fee."
The staff here was pleasant and as helpful as they could be, but it's clear management gives them no agency to provide great customer service. I will never stay here again, and I posted on my Facebook page to let others know how horrible it was.

Our stay was amazing!! The property is beautiful and clean. The staff were friendly. They have a cute gift shop with some interesting hand crafted items. The room was nice.

Very nice resort. Dog fee EXCESSIVE @ $100 for first night then $25 per night thereafter. Resort fee $35. Shower hot water lukewarm at best, not good (Rm. 33-Lee Marvin). Thanksgiving brunch was excellent. Overall, a very nice place but a bit overpriced. I’m not a cheapskate, I can afford anything, but tired of all of the post-Covid nickel & diming.

Beautiful resort, lovely staff, amazing views, amazing property. 3 pools/hot tubs, sunset pool, sunrise pool, Mountain View pool. Delicious restaurants. Courtyards with games and relaxation areas. Gorgeous gorgeous place, will return.

This is a great boutique hotel if you want to have a low key stay at a very nice property in a good location.
Great for honeymooners, couples retreat, spa day and other decompressing options.
Great service, very quiet and a large amount of history that dates to the 1920's. Very nice staff. Love the look and feel of the grounds.
I had a conference at another location for several days and this property was located close by so it was both nice and convienent. I did not eat or drink here so no comments.
The only minor complaint is that the property could use a few more maintenance people to fix some lights and other items that 5 star resorts focus on. A good quality control person that walks the entire property weekly. Could use a very minor touch up in some places and amenities like mini fridge and water pressure for shower. (Adjustable shower head rather than a hand held wand with poor pressure.)
Overall I give it an 8.5 out of 10.

Top tier service and quality of property. Every single staff member we encountered was friendly and professional. We enjoyed the free yoga, grounds and history tours too. Truly one of the most beautiful properties we have ever visited. I liked it so much from a previous stay a few weeks ago to bring my wife with me to enjoy it too.

The Hacienda Del Sol was and such awesome place with such fantastic views and peacefulness. The restaurant food was excellent but the servers were lacking for such a quality place. But all in all very nice place!!

Stayed here for 4 nights when dropping our son at college….totally impressed with son of if….beautiful room, great restaurants, pools with views & impeccable service. 5 stars, will be back!!

I was somewhat disappointed with my stay at Hacienda del Sol. The night I arrived, there was a Luau, which was incredibly noisy and I was unable to find parking due to the event. I would expect that guests of the hotel would be prioritized ahead of visitors not staying at the resort. The service at the restaurant was slow, particularly since there were few tables seated. The adults-only pool area was nice but there were not clear instructions on how to order food/drink so I had to text guest services and ask them to place the order. There was no staff in the area, which is usually the case at a resort with pool areas. Overall, my birthday staycation was underwhelming and I wouldn’t return for a special event. They did, however, leave a little card and box of snacks in my room, which I thought was a nice touch.

Beautiful property in the foothills a reasonably short drive from downtown Tucson & UofA. Our room was large, clean and comfortable. Only a view other than the driveway could have made it better. Good experience with breakfast at the restaurant and with a sunset night cap at the excellent bar. Several art pieces and a great variety of desert wildlife also make the hotel’s grounds home. Non-dining gratuities are included in the $35/day resort fee which is super helpful.
