Very nice hotel and great location. Very centrally located. The staff was very nice and helpful even though I don't speak spanish. Google translate was helpful for that.

My stay was just OK as when I checked in they trIED to do a bait and switch and gives me a horrible tiny little dark room. I explained to him in my best Spanish and showed him on Hotels.com what room was attached to the amount I paid. It was clearly a different room. I insisted I want to the one I paid for and he said that was more money. I insisted that I was not going to pay. This went on for 10 minutes and he finally gave me the nicer room. As I took a walk around, I found two hairs on the comforter and a dirty coffee cup inside the coffee cabinet. Also the room had no window or balcony as shown in the photos. The marketing on Hotels.com from the hotel is very miss leading to the customer. Beware of booking here. Very comfortable queen bed. Nice pillows good continental breakfast. Gentle rain for shower could have better pressure. Easy to control temperature very good value for money. Great location

We had a great time in Oaxaca. Our stay at Casa Abuela Maria was very convenient and comfortable. The location is ideal, walking distance from everywhere.
The complimentary breakfast buffet is good enough to get you going before a bus tour to Monte Alban or Mitla. The staff were very friendly and helpful at all times. They allowed us to do early check in (9 am!!!) y stored our bags after check out while we were still exploring the city.
Overall, this is a small, traditional hotel, conveniently located and with great fares. A great decision for our 3-day trip to Oaxaca.
