Restaurant and bar were closed as a result. We were allocated a refurbished twin room which was clean any comfy enough although the room was really hot. Breakfast was in an old conference room and was either continental or full English. Both fine, no complaints. Hopefully the refurbishments won't take much longer as it has the makings of a decent hotel.

The hotel is dated and needs an update. It’s cheap for that reason - covered parking right next door is the reason we stayed.

The check in experience was perfect, the 24/7 check in made us feel we didnt have to rush to get to the hotel. Accomodating towards my assistance dog who stayed with us. Bed was extremely comfy, there was a stain on the sheet but it was clean.

came to Barrow for personal reasons, the staff were really nice, friendly and helpful. The room was lovely and even though our window looked out to BAE we saw the most amazing sunset. I had to stay an extra night and this wasn't a problem for them. Only problem I found was not enough milk. Very clean and beat night's sleep I had in a long time. Thank you to all the staff who made a difficult personal experience easier with their kindness and friendliness

Booked a family room for a one night stay.... Hotel itself a very nice building, very friendly staff.... The room as soon as we opened the door we were taken a back by the smell of cigarettes... (Corridors and other rooms within the hotel did not smell of this.) reported to reception staff who only apologised and assured us that she witnesses people going out for cigarettes ( not that made any difference) we decided to not take it any further and instead open all of the windows.... Freezing cold night in January would get rid of the smell you would think. However it did not. Couldn't wait to leave the next morning. Very disappointing for a family room with younger children staying. 4 drinks ordered from the bar all with flat mixers, no draft on at all .... A case of drink it or don't attitude from the night porter.

Easy city centre stay great helpful staff, hotel needs some investment soon to tidy the place up.

Our stay at the 'oyo imperial hotel' was a great stay, we arrived and were really helpful. The room was comfortable and homely, more pillows for the bed would have been nice, but it didnt take away from the over all experience. There is a market within walking distance and the town had everything within walking distance. I would definitely rate this hotel highly and will return again. 5*

Hotel was perfect for our needs. As per previous reviews it is a bit tired, needs a lick of paint and carpets in public areas are in need of either a deep clean or replacement. But the rooms were spot on for cleanliness and comfort. All we needed was a base for 2 nights and we got great value for money and would stay here again. Breakfast was great value for money and the staff in there were great and so welcoming. Reception staff were friendly too and overall it was perfect for our needs. On site parking is limited but there’s a massive public car park straight across the road that’s free (6pm to 8am I think).

Positive(s): - Excellent location to town centre and local amenities - Friendly & helpful staff - On-site parking (on a first come, first serve basis) - Solid breakfast options Negative(s): - Single room was dated and in need of some TLC. Marks/cracks in the wall, wallpaper pealing. Just needs an uplift. - As above could be said throughout hotel in terms of carpeting. Just feels dated. Overall, without complaining too much, it was Ok. Single rooms aren't as shown in pictures and the place needs a bit of an uplift. Two bars attached to the hotel are beneficial should you want a drink. Right in the town centre, and a decent little town.
