The included breakfast was fresh and tasty - croissant, crepe, fresh fruits, a chocolate pastry, excellent coffee, yogurt, and an apple cider. It helped get our day started on a high note as we explored Quebec City. There were ample towels and the bed was comfortable. The location was also convenient as it was near the train station and close to the Old Town. It was nice not to have to carry around a room key as access was managed by pin code to the hotel and to the room. It was also very nice of Gerald to help store our luggage after we had checked out since our train wasn't until later that afternoon.
The door to the bathroom wasn't quite private enough and the plumbing was a bit tricky as the hot/cold water would switch randomly (or at least it was hard to figure out). It is an older building but still maintained well.

Old-school classic, Breakfast Parisian in style. Coffee magnificent. Host a playful, helpful person. Rooms huge. Great location.

L'emplacement, le petit déjeuner. L'humour du propriétaire peut être parfois très surprenant mais de bons conseils pour visiter la ville.

I like the the room and the bed. Clean, comfort, and I can sleep very well.
The breakfast was so good with honemade berry jam. I like the croissant and the fresh fruits.
The location is only 3 minutes walk fron the train station and 10-15 minutes walk to the tourist attraction such as old port, notre dame basillica, terrace dufferin, fairmont le chateau frontenac, etc.
Only minor things. They don't have the toothbrush, the toothpaste and shower cap.

Great location, rustic and budget friendly. The host was helpful and provided a hearty breakfast with good strong coffee. The room with a Murphy bed was perfect for myself and my 14 year old.

Breakfast was excellent, and the host was very hospitable. The location was very convenient, close to the old town and right next to the train station.
The hotel was old, but that was no issue for us. Other than that, it was a 10/10 stay.

Gerald was one of the best hosts we have ever had. He was very friendly, most helpful and has a wonderful sense of humour. The room was lovely and the breakfast was first rate. When we return to Quebec City in the future, we will return here. Signed Rod and Pam

Excellent location in old Town Quebec with all sights within easy reach. Gerald was an excellent host and breakfasts were superb. We plan to return again for another stay.

Host was very nice, a bit eccentric, as many have said, very helpful and gave good tips to visit the city. The breakfast was very good, although the options were limited and, for the 2 days I stayed in, I got the same. The wifi was excellent, the room size gigantic, in a very quiet area, yet very near the city center, with a supermarket and a pharmacy nearby.
The steps to get to the upper floors, especially with heavy luggage, the place is starting to get a bit run down, and the host does not speak much English, which I noticed is typical in Quebec City, but still odd for those working in the tourism industry. Yet, none of it would prevent me of returning to L'Intendant.

Breakfast was great. Shower and towels were good but overall decor was sad. Considering what we paid for 2 nights stay, we feel that we didn’t get value for money.
Bedrooms and bathroom were fine but kitchen lacked in comfort. No easy chairs or sofa and only a basic table and chairs that were it very comfortable.

The location can’t be beat. It’s close to the bus/rail station, and you can walk to everywhere in the old town. The breakfast was fresh and fulfilling. The in-room jacuzzi was a nice add-on.
The place looks a bit dated, but that is kind of expected for a historic building. We also needed to haul our luggage up two steep and long flights as there’s no elevator.

Great host. Good location very short walk from bus and train station. Breakfast was exceptional. That is if you like fruit, crepes, croissants etc. Home made apple juice and jam as well.

It was so nice to feel like a guest in a B&B as opposed to a random customer in a large hotel. Our host was very welcoming and friendly, with a pleasant sense of humour. He was helpful and hospitable, and served a delicious breakfast each morning that was unique (at least for us) and tasty. The room was great too.

Breakfast is delicious - apple cider, freshly baked croissant and pain au chocolat, crepe with real maple syrup lots of fruit, and strawberry jam. I don’t drink coffee but the people I was travelling with said it was excellent. This is all served to you by the owner, who is quite a character.
My only complaint is the pillows are uncomfortable (too stiff) and the overhead light in he kitchenette is a bit too bright. Also, the street is quite noisy, which makes it difficult to sleep with the window open.
