The welcoming staff was exceptional. We were greeted on the front step by a little white cat named Pearl. There were lots of nice little touches like the fresh flowers throughout the public spaces and in the room. There were even towel animals. There were Madeline’s and palmettos available in the lobby. Breakfast was simple but good. It was easy to find. There were quiet hours. Rooms were spacious and comfortable.

The walls were quite thin so we could hear music and tv from the adjoining room.

The Inn was so charming and welcoming. Fireside reading, family games in a breakfast room and just cozy and welcoming. Comfy communal seating throughout. There were lending libraries all through the INN and board games and foosball available. My daughter also appreciated hot cocoa and cookies before bed each night in the lobby. Although breakfast was your average continental breakfast, it was cozy welcoming and comfortable. The staff were friendly and helpful. Also appreciated that it’s the first place in 4 years I have found a bedside Bible. (Not a big deal for many but a WIN in my book) We will be making a trip back!

My only complaint was our bathroom door didn’t shut due to a warped door frame from aging, but it was manageable for my family, no issues.

Really noisy AC unit that kept us awake at night. Coffee pot ran out of coffee and was not replaced. We had to use coffee maker in the hall to make every cup. The entrance in the parking lot is extremely confusing and not showing correct if you use Google maps.

the property was not well maintained. Dining chair cushions were tattered and easily repaired with new fabric and a stapler- no re-upholstery needed. There was not adequate and comfortable seating in the common area. My room was very dark, not a place to spend any time other than to sleep. Wood flooring was worn. I last stayed at Colts Neck Inn in about Aug 2010. In the intervening years the property, sadly, went from charming to distressed. I was quite embarrassed that I recommended this property to my travel mate. Overall it was poor value relative to other options in the area.
