Nothing, it was perfect in every aspect.

Great and helpful staff, esp. when we had to stay extra night( unexpectedly) as ferry services cancelled due to winter gale!
All was great, no complaints!

The location was great. The decor and linens were excellent.
Our room location was awful. We were below grade level and it was extremely dark. The lighting in the bathroom was also very dim. We didn’t want to spend time in the room.

The hotel has lovely decor
The walls in the new addition are way too thin!!! I was in 20 and had to listen to my neighbor make phone calls all evening. I just read that this part of the hotel was an addition, so it is inexcusable that the walls are not thicker in a hotel.

Super comfy bed, beautiful interior design.
Elevators reach all floors good for elderly patrons

Location was perfect. Right next to everything in the downtown area. The staff was super friendly, helpful and accommodating. Room was very spacious and full of thoughtful amenities.
There was a flag outside our window that would make noise every time the wind blew. The noise was a bit disturbing.

walking distance to everything in town.

Well appointed and attention to detail was superb. We loved the moldings, shiplap, woodwork and furnishings. The bathroom tile was unique and high-end. Brass, custom fixtures in the bathroom were super nice. The bed was was comfortable. I thoruoghly enjoyed the look and style of this property. Had the feel of an old classic ship.
Would have enjoyed the option for breakfast on property at the restaurant. The restaurant was so nicely decorated. We enjoyed dessert there a couple of nights, but had to find breakfast down the road each morning. Breakfast was a very short walk, however.
3.5 / 5.0
Supposed to include breakfast but did not. No personal interaction as staff sits in cubicle and other then that not much opportunity as the restaurant was closed two of our three day stay.
This was our second stay, and overall it's ok.

Ugly room, tiny for $1000 per niggt!

First off, much of the staff is Jamaican, and thus this gives the Greydon house an almost Anglo-Caribbean vibe that is wise, professional, quiet, easy-going (yet firm), diverse and marvelous all at once. You are on Nantucket, but there is also just a hint of Montego Bay. I am not sure about anyone else, but that worked for me.
The rest of the staff, I mean 1 or 2 people, are enthusiastic, thoughtful, and very helpful.
One of the owners was there pitching in, carrying boxes upstairs, and in a low-key way chatting with the guests. Again, that made a big difference for us. Keep in mind that the hotel is only staffed from 7 AM - 11 PM. After that, as I said before, you are on your own.
Secondly, it may be because of the pricing and the decor, but the people who visit the Greydon House are a self-selected group. Some of them were very friendly and eclectic and were happy to chat. I enjoyed that quite a bit as well.
But, by far, for me, the most excellent thing about the Greydon House was that from 11:00 PM to 3:00 PM the next day, you have the entire run of what otherwise would be the bar and restaurant, i.e., there is no one there. If you are the sort, and I am, that like wood-paneled, dark rooms that are beautifully decorated with old oriental rugs and bookcases, etc., you are in luck. You can sit there quietly with your significant other, play a game of backgammon (make sure to pack that), access their Wi-Fi, or otherwise relax, and get away from the hustle and bustle of home and Nantucket, too. You can sit there quietly and relax and think about what it must have been like for the whalers of old as they sat there as well and contemplated their next adventure.
Let's first dispense with its shortcomings.
First of all, we stayed in one of the misleadingly labeled "Garden View" rooms. These rooms, albeit beautifully decorated, are essentially in the basement, i.e., below the ground floor.
There is no view, and there are no gardens; thus, these rooms would be more aptly named the lower-level or some other term that would accurately describe them. They are below ground level, and there is no getting around that.
Our room had two six-inch windows measured from the ceiling down that essentially look out onto the ground floor. If a person is claustrophobic or uncomfortable in a windowless place for all extents and purposes, these accommodations are not recommended.
It took us a minute to adjust, for my wife and I are used to a home with many windows and unobstructed views of the Delaware river and Bulls Island State Park.
Secondly, let's chat about the price. We spent USD 2,900 for three nights, approximately $900 per night for 125 square feet, or 7.20 per square foot. If we had stayed at the Landmark Suite at the Four Seasons in Philadelphia, which is 700 square feet, the cost is $923 per night. Therefore, the price difference, at almost five times as much for the Greydon House as the Four Seasons, is stark.
Mind you that the Four Seasons has to compete with many other hotels, and Philadelphia is not Nantucket; nevertheless, travelers must know that they are paying a very significant premium for the pleasure of staying at the Greydon House.
Thirdly, although the staff is amiable and helpful, there is no room service at all. There is no breakfast offered. There is a small coffee maker at the front desk each morning at 7 AM with paper cups and those disposable creamers you might pick up at a motel. Not exactly what one would expect at these prices if you get my drift.

Beautiful rather small hotel. Very nice design in the rooms and comfortable beds. The service was always very friendly, helping us out with tips and giving you the feeling to be welcomed. For our next Nantucket we will definitely book it again.
