Location was beautiful. Owners were so kind.

Old facility needs updating. I know it's Alaska but everything was so musty (carpet, towels, linens). We had to take allergy pills to be able to sleep. Would have liked more choices for breakfast.

The inn and it's owners are very warm and welcoming. The accommodations are very tastefully decorated and anything that you could think of is provided including items for a quick breakfast and snacks. Hanging on the wall near your private entrance is a set of binoculars to watch the local wildlife such as whales in the channel or bears on the beach across the channel. The bathroom has a soaking tub (it was wonderful!) and an abundance of towels. The beds and pillows are incredibly comfortable so it was easy to fall asleep. My favorite part of the room was the antique style gas fireplace that heats the room. I highly recommend the Black Bear Inn to travelers and to locals who want to get away from it all without leaving the island.

This is the best B&B style we have stayed at, Nicole & Jim are very good at making you feel comfortable, at home & feel welcome. It's like they open up their home to you, then make sure your satisfied with everything. We will definitely be back, as this appears to be the best around.

We liked everything

Black Bear Inn is a gem. Nicole and Jim Church are hospitable hosts. The place is spotlessly clean and in beautiful surroundings. It is landscaped outdoors with lots of little places to sit. There are so many little touches to the rooms and the whole area--highly recommend it!

Everything met my expectation.

The location was top notch, the breakfast always yummy and the room was beyond comfortable. But the best part of the experience was getting to meet Nicole and Jim and so many others in this beautiful town. We are already planning our next trip.

Not much negatives here

Everything was exceptional! The hosts are so kind and helpful! The location and facilities are beautiful. My room was super cozy and comfortable, I slept like a baby and enjoyed the spectacular sea view in the morning and evening. Perfect for travelers who are in Ketchikan to relax and enjoy nature.

I loved the rural location so there is nothing to complain about - though I'm mentioning it because some travelers might find it a bit far from downtown. There is a bus that comes nearby.
