Nice, clean, comfortable, and oh so relaxing! Check in was a bit challenging but we got it figured out and from there on all was well! Great outdoor sitting area. Kitchen was good, Bed and furniture was comfortable. Perfect for the two of us. Easy access to bike/walking trails and The Loop.

Horse Thief Ranch is a lovely guest house, with plenty of room to spread out, a king-sized comfortable bed, shower & tub with good water pressure and a kitchen with all the necessities. We had a small glitch with the Keurig coffee maker, and Kendra was immediately at the front door with a new one.
Kendra is a thoughtful manager. The property has a number of guest spaces, but parking was never an issue. We loved all the metal art on the grounds, and the imaginative flair used to decorate the rooms. We’ll be back.

We loved the decor and spacious accommodations in the guest house. We took our golden retriever, so being so close to trails made it perfect for walking and bike riding. Loved it and will come again!

We stayed at this property for a week in late January 2024. The guest house is a great place for 2 people. It is well equipped and furnished. The outside fenced area is spacious and beautiful--many sitting areas and two hot tubs. Great hikes are located within 30 minute drives. We would stay here again.

The Horse Thief ranch guest house was the perfect place for us! Close to Sabino Canyon and the Mt. Lemmon highway. And situated in a lovely neighborhood with access to the Tanque Verde wash trail.
We had our own little yard with a fountain and wonderful Mountain View’s. Perfect for cocktails, dinner or coffee.
Lovely property with mature trees and very well maintained.
The guest house had a full kitchen, wonderful jet shower, and a king size sleep number bed.
We loved it!

Cute, cozy, pet friendly casita. Nicely appointed decor with custom rain shower & jacuzzi tub, two way fireplace, two smart tvs, private pup friendly fenced yard with fountain and niced shared space including jacuzzi as well. Nice mountain view from living room. Not far from Catalina State Park (pup friendly hiking) and the casita is right by a wash trail for using up excess energy running, biking or walking! Also close to Sabino Canyon (no pups) and not too far from Pima Air Museum (also pup friendly). Will stay again if we go to the Tucson area!

Charming, cozy and private guest house with modern conveniences with western decor. Great location for Tucson sites right near Sabino Canyon and convenient to Mt Lemmon or downtown, and near shopping/restaurant areas. Dog friendly. *EXCELLENT* communication with owner who was very responsive to questions at checkin.

Great house. Great yard for dogs. Beautifully furnished. Everything you need. We will definitely rent the Guest House again when in Tucson. Kendra & Keith were wonderful. Always just a phone call away for questions. Nice, safe neighborhood. Near shopping & Restaurants.

This is a fantastic property, perfectly located in the Tucson area providing great access to both sections of Saguaro National Park. We received great communication during our reservation process, met or talked with both owners during our stay, and check out was very easy.
Why 4 stars? My wife and I are national park hikers. We screen our lodging choices by a king size bed & a hot tub. This property has both, but we were unable to use the hot tub either evening. The owners made every effort to fix their hot tub, even taking on a priority fee on getting a technician there on short notice. But the unit had simply gotten too cold, to warm up in time for us to use it. So, we essentially booked a property with a listed feature that was not available.
We rely on VRBO reviews to make our reservation choices, so felt obligated to be honest with ours. I would reserve with these owners again, or even book this property again.

Kendra is wonderful and so welcoming. The property is right on a nice, flat, gravel, trail you can walk on. It's a short bike ride to the Loop where you can ride for miles.
The common areas were lovely for relaxing with a nice glass of wine at the end of the day. Sadly we never saw Myrtle the Turtle, but we'll just have to come back.
Plenty of towels and a comfy bed, but bring TP and tissues. The kitchen wasn't super well stocked, but for 2 we did ok. Mainly we should have brought some spoons! There are only 4. Just know you'll have to do dishes often even if you're just 2 people. The laundry was really convenient so it's no problem not having it in the unit.
All in all we were really delighted and plan to return.

This property had the trifecta of success for a vrbo: an amazing quiet, private, beautifully landscaped locale/ a super attentive, caring owner and on site staff/ and very well appointed rooms and amenities like a hot tub, grills and laundry. What a value, especially considering the price!
It’s almost so good that I’m reluctant to write this in fear of letting the word out but here it is: this place is a gem!!!
And while we were here what an amazing group of other guests (outdoorsy, traveling folks rather than awful tourists) to chat with and share info with. They made our stay even better :)

This guesthouse on the ranch was great! We only stayed two nights but could have easily stayed longer. Very nice to have a private fenced in area as well as a larger common fenced area for our dogs.

Close to great hikes and also enjoyed walking in the neighborhood and adjacent path.

The Guest House was well equipped. We liked the two sided fireplace and the modern jacuzzi/shower. We enjoyed the trail with trailhead right behind the house. We would love to come again sometime.

The Horse Thief was a small slice of heaven in Tucson! Kendra and her husband were the most amazing host and hostess! Outstanding communication from the I made the reservation till we arrived! The entire property was breath taking well landscaped and manicured… plenty of outdoor space with incredible views of the mountains. Enjoyed the live African Tortus roaming one of the areas on property. Everything was perfect and super clean. Surrounded by a very beautiful neighborhood! Wonderful walking trails and they are dog friendly! Plenty safe outdoor space for the pup! This is the only place I would ever stay in Tucson when I visit!! Thanks Kendra fir everything!!

We rented the guest house as a private space along with many of our family who rented to the remaining accommodations on this property. This was a great venue for a large family who needs space and a preference for private accommodation with common living areas to spend time together for meals and hanging out. Loved the desert setting and feel.

Beautiful property
We stayed in the guest house which was super cute and well decorated with a gas fireplace, and a side yard that was fenced in and a cute fountain and patio furniture.
The property backs up to a walking path on a wash which was great for walking our dog.
The price was very fair! We’ll be back as we have family in Tucson.

Desert Gem
We absolutely loved this artfully decorated desert gem! Comfy, beautiful settings both inside and outdoors. Clean, nicely appointed and inviting.
The grounds of this property are so peaceful & relaxing with many garden areas to enjoy. The landscaping is wonderfully designed and maintained. The resident, Myrtle the Turtle 💕🐢 was super cool to visit on our walks. We thoroughly enjoyed the quick, easy access to hiking trails out the back gate.
We also appreciated the indoor jet tub and shower spa, as well as the outdoor pool spa and hot tub.
Our host contact, Kendra, was very attentive to our questions and concerns.
We had a wonderful stay and when we come back to Tucson we would stay at this ovely ranch property again!

Resort style grounds; clean and cozy
The property was well maintained inside and out. The shower is upgraded with a big tub. Nice shutters to sleep during the day. Amenities include washer and dryer, hot tub and plenty of parking.
The host was prompt and helpful. We even brought our dog! Thanks for the pleasant 2 night stay.

Horse Thief Ranch (one of several villas)
We enjoyed a quiet stay at one of the little cottages/villas...not sure what you call them...ours was a one bedroom and bath...with livingroom and kitchen together....cozy.....comfortable...had everything we and our two poodles needed....did I not mention they are PET FRIENDLY...that was very very important to us.....and the owners....super friendly people....as were most of the people we met in Arizona....the property backed onto a trail and there was Sabino Canyon hiking area (unfortunately no dogs there)...but allot of walking trails......we loved it....

Amazing outdoor spaces
This place is so quiet you would swear you were miles from anything, yet all kinds of restaurants, etc. are only a few miles away. Our favorite place (Sabino Canyon) is just 4 miles away. The private patio is very peaceful, and there is a huge common space if you need sun or shade at a particular time of day. This particular unit is starting to show its age, but everything is functional and well maintained (the running toilet mentioned in another review has been fixed). The closet is quite large, and we had everything we needed in the kitchen. The owners are super responsive if you need anything - you just have to ask.
