Staying at Lalit Herritage definitely exceeded my expectations. From the very beginning I felt not like a guest, but as a member of the family. Matina and Santa took care of me with the greatest care. We became friends and still keep in touch. The breakfasts were delicious. In addition, I also had the opportunity to take amazing trips and listen to interesting stories about Buddha (Santa), about Bhaktapur (Matina) and going to temples (Boudhanath Stupa and Pashupatinath Temple), as well as to a beautiful, extremely charming village in the mountains, Bandipur (thanks to the huge courtesy of Manose).

The family were very kind: took me on an early morning walk to visit a couple of local Buddhist temples in use, let me eat Newari food with them (£), took me to a traditional barber for a (very good) shave. Breakfast was tasty. The view over Patan Darbar Square was what I had hoped. I loved the back streets of Patan, the traditional craftsmen and the tiny temples everywhere.

It's very much a family home with rooms rather than a hotel. The room and the bathroom were pretty basic tbh. It's right next to a very busy road.

Wonderful homestay with simple, but very clean rooms, lovely common area and amazing views over the Durbar square. The most wonderful part about the stay is the friendly family who has opened up their home of many generations and who are happy to share with you the real life of Patan today and decades ago. I truly enjoyed the stay and reccommend it to anyone who is looking for something different from regular hotels and is curious about the local way of life.

I had an absolutely lovely stay at Lalit Heritage Home. My airport pick-up went smoothly and I was given a warm welcome by the family owners. The room was very comfortable with a hot shower, desk and a view over Patan Durbar Square. My favourite part of the guesthouse was the terrace on the top floor with a stunning view where I would eat my breakfast or relax during the evenings and I could see the mountains on clear days. The breakfast (and dinners!) were delicious. The location is also great as it is right next to the Palace/Patan Museum with plenty of restaurants, shops and coffee shops nearby but is also nice and quiet in the evenings. What I particularly liked about Lalit Heritage Home is that it had the atmosphere of a homestay with all the comforts you need. I really enjoyed chatting to the family, learning more about the local area and felt very safe and looked after, especially as a solo traveller. I highly recommend and definitely plan to return.
