The A/C stopped during the night and it was very stuffy and warm in the room

The breakfast was fantastic! Freshly prepared eggs, coffee, orange juice, a cake, meats, cheeses, yogurt, fresh fruit, croissants & bread, all served by friendly staff. The location for us was just right. Not in the centre but not too far away. When we arrived the staff told us where a local supermarket was and we grabbed some wine, meats & cheeses, the hotel supplied the corkscrew & glasses and we went and sat on their delightful 4th floor roof terrace. The sun was shining and the view looked over the rooftops to the Magaleta Beach and the sea. It was a perfect start to our stay.

Breakfast was perfect, the room was clean and nice, the staff is very friendly. :)

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Hotel California. Breakfast was really good, staff friendly and helpful. Hotel convenient for beach bars and nice local bar across the road. App.20 minute stroll into city centre or 5 minutes on bus at stop right outside hotel.

This was a wonderful, memorable stay. The hotel is so beautiful with unique art and antiques that make the experience incredible. The staff was warm, friendly, helpful and always there. We had breakfast twice and it was terrific. There is a lovely patio out front to sit and watch the world go by. Very close to the beach! fabulous rooftop terrace with a view of the sea. Grocery store around the corner for your wine.

Twice we were locked out on the rooftop terrace as someone closed the door without checking. bring a phone! we also wrote a note and left on the step.

We agree with all the previous guests raving about the staff hospitality and professionalism, great patient service even with tourists not making any effort in Spanish. Another highlight is inded the breakfast which consists in smoked meat, scrambled eggs, cereals, yoghurt, fresh fruits, local pastries, be prepared to be full ! Also we were charmed right away by the traditional, vintage feel of the hotel. The terrace on 4th is definitely a plus. The mattress was very comfortable and the cushions were made of memory foam. To sum up a place where we felt like home, thank you !

The only thing I can think of which might be annoying when the hotel is full is the noise made by guests when closing the doors. The doors locking system doesn't allow guests to close these lightly, you kind of "have" to slam it.

I like everything in the California hotel, it exced all my expectations the Hotel owners and staff are very friendly and kind. very good location for the beach only cross the road, buses are just on the hotel door, 2 minutes only to city centre. lovely solarium on the roof.

I didn't like, that,my purse with my credit card, was stolen, though that I can't blame on the hotel, at the same time, I have a strong feeling that was in the hotel, from could be some of the room cleaners. my credit card, was never used, we had paid, always with cash, and the purse was alway, secure in a zipped bag,and most of times, inside another zipped canvas bag, never unattended, crossed body, and always we ware alone sitting everywhere without people around, that is the reason of my suspicious. I can't blame the hotel because ware perfect in every thing, but I can suspicion in the cleaning staff, to find my purse and be stolen has to be a person that has time to look for it, and the facility. it is pity that this unfortunate incident has spoil our stay in that friendly and special hotel, that want to make their guests happy. the good thing is when I had reported to the bank is the credit card hasn't be used.

lovely property in great location close to a variety of restaurants, beach and a short stroll to the old town centre. on a busy road, but noise was not an issue. staff were lovely and pleasant and as our Spanish was simply not good, the staff assisted in English. we had the great breakfast on our last day, and it has lots of different spaces people can sit and quietly enjoy the moment.

Room was nice and the hotel is in a good location.

The noise from the other rooms was so annoying. Doors slamming and you could hear people in the other rooms. I was woken up many times

The aspect of the hotel was amazing, the room was wonderfull, everything was sooooo perfect! I would definetly come back here ! It is also very near to the beach, and the bus station is right in front of the hotel.
